Gwynnie Bee February 2020 Review

This review is for each of the three-at-a-time items I received February 17th , 2020:

Pebble Chiffon Wrap Dress by Adrianna Papell, Size 20W — Retail Value $8

Truth be told, I don't even remember selecting this dress! Alas, it is here! I am surprised I would select this, mainly because the pink is so close to my own skin color, it might be too much. This reminds me of a dress that Shirley MacLaine would have worn in the heart-string-tugging, Terms of Endearment. Google it, it really looks like an Aurora Greenway number! This is a legitimate wrap style dress, so it took me about ten years to figure out how to get it on. Okay, that is an exaggeration, but it did take a while and reminded me why I prefer faux wrap dresses 100% of the time. I also could not get it any tighter in the bust, so I always felt like I had to readjust the top to cover my chest. It was so loose. The fabric is rather lightweight, perfect for Spring and even cooler Summer days. This dress wasn't my cup of tea, but heck, getting an Adrianna Papell dress for $8 is a steal!

Black Belted Dolman  Sleeve Sheath Dress by Tiana B, Size 20W — Retail Value $53

I wore this one to work at my office and I got so many compliments from my female coworkers! I feel like this dress is something Amanda Woodward from Melrose Place or a modern-day Joan Holloway from Mad Men would strut around in, commanding all's attention! It is sexy, but strong! The material has ample stretch-- this piece truly fits like a dream! I also like that the sleeves are roomy, but not too big. The only slight concern is the slit. It is right smack down the middle in the front. So, I had to be mindful when I sat down because someone may have seen more of me than they would prefer. Otherwise, the LBD is fierce, modern, and will make you feel like a stone cold fox!

Bold Cheetah Perfect Faux-Wrap Dress by Leota, Size 2x — Retail Value $65.50

Oh, Leota, let me count the ways! I love this dress brand! They truly cater to curvy women with pieces that hug you in all the right places. This piece is no exception. You know I had to closet it: leopard print AND it is reddish burgundy and pink-- say no more! The faux wrap style of this, unlike the Adrianna Papell dress, is incredibly easy to get on and wear. The fabric is stretchy, but not slinky. The cuts and styles of these dresses ensure you will be covered, but you will look super babely at the same time! I felt incredibly comfortable wearing this at work in my office, but this piece would also translate well for a date with my boyfriend. Hooray to another winning dress from the Leota brand!

Verdict: Gwynnie Bee remains one of my favorite subscription boxes to review. I love not only being able to try on items, but the ability to rent the pieces where them makes Gwynnie Bee such a standout service. Though I closet the items myself, the pieces I am sent are at random. This month's selections were great for the most part. I loved the Leota dress best, followed by the Tiana piece. The Adrianna Papell item wasn't necessarily my speed, but I can appreciate it for the price point--HECK YEAH! I am a busy person that works two jobs with various side gigs, so a service like Gwynnie Bee is fantastic. Did I happen to mention I don't have to wash any of the pieces they send me? All I have to do is pack up the items I don't want into the purple prepaid return envelope and they will shortly send me three more items! It is that simple. Plus if I like an item and want to add it to my forever closet, Gwynnie Bee sells these pre-worn items at a discount. Plus they have sales frequently and a points system where you can accrue additional discounts. What's not to love?

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! All three pieces are available to rent or purchase.

ACTIVE DEAL: Get 50% off your first month! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bee’s costs range depending on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $95 three-item-at-a-time plan. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I got three items this month. The three items total up to $126.50, which is $31.50 more than my monthly subscription fee! That is a heck of a value, but imagine if had I returned these pieces and received even more! Wow!

The Leota dress is insane on you!!!! Googly eyes for days <3. The first dress is more me than you just sayin’ 😁

I adored the pink dress on you but understand that sometimes we look good in things that we wouldn’t wear. The 2nd dress was AMAZING. I feel like you’d wear that often and it would be worth the $50 price tag, even with the slit.

I like the pink dress but I am quite busty and would feel exposed. I like the sisters covered. The third dress is very nice, the second too, if you have a office job. Like I said the pink one is nice, but would make me feel self conscious.

I am obsessed with that pink dress! It looks SO good on you.

Every single one of those dresses looks amazing on you. This was a great box and review!

Thank you, Lorif631! Some really great pieces for sure!

SquirrelyGirl

I’d just put a black lacy camisole under the pink wrap dress to help with the cleavage issue, because it looks phenomenal on you! It’s, by far, my favorite of the three

Randie

I think that’s a great solution because, I too, think that dress looks amazing on you, Nicole!

Awe, thanks, SquirrellyGirl!

It really does look amazing! Even one of the Torrid Bralettes with the scoop or higher neckline would be a good solution. Then you wouldn’t be tugging on a camisole. I frequently wear bralettes over my regular bra . Maybe one like this? https://www.torrid.com/product/black-seamless-bralette-and-hipster-panty/TD_BraSets_10413917_500909.html#q=bralette&start=78&sz=60

I really like the blushy pink dress on you. I’m the same, I have pinky undertones and always feel like I’m wearing something made of my own skin I’m light pinks 🤣😂 but I think it looks perfect!

Nicole Rieder

Awe thank you, Emily! Yeah, I tend to go with more vibrant shades. Maybe it is a tad outta my comfort zone!

Lydea

I am large chested as well and cannot wear a true wrap dress confidently. I have worn a cami underneath successfully but still had a constant need to “tug”.

You look smashing as always. It almost makes me look forward to getting out of my yoga pants someday and wearing real clothes to my office!

Nicole Rieder

Lydea, yessss! I never feel secure in them!

But thank you! I desperately miss my hair stylist. I am hoping I won’t be a brunette once I come out of this self distancing quarantine! But whatever it takes, right? Stay safe and comfy in your leggings, but wear a dress too if you’re feeling fancy!

Calico Cat

As usual, you rock the first dress but it’s not the best. You could wear it to dinner with your boyfriend and keep him captivated with the view. Lol

Hahaha thank you, Calico Cat!
