FabKids (little sister brand to Fabletics and JustFab) is a monthly clothing subscription for boys and girls that allows you to shop in two ways - you can shop the regular store, or you can sign up for their VIP membership. VIP memberships work like this:

  • Take the FabKids quiz for your child (for multiple children you can add a kid) to note their size and style preferences.
  • Each month, FabKids releases a new collection and they will curate looks that match your child's preferences which you can view in their personalized Fabshop.
  • Shop those looks at 40% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $29.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied towards future purchases.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

FabKids Boys March 2020 Review

When you sign up they will ask you a few questions about your child: their name, age, clothing size, favorite weekend activity, and which outfit you prefer out of a few options. This helps to personalize your child's "FabShop" each month. If you have multiple kids you are shopping for, there is an option to "add a kid."

This is the packing slip we received with instructions for returns and exchanges on the back.

Skinny Jean in Medium Wash, Size 4T - Retail Value $34.00, VIP Cost $26.95 (Currently on sale for $19.00)

My son has been in between sizes forever when it comes to pants, but it seems that he has finally outgrown the 3T jeans in his closet, so he was in need of a new pair. I love the wash of these skinny jeans and they feature all of the normal jean pockets and the adjustable waistband which is so important with this kid and his skinny waist. I was able to tighten them to get a perfect fit for him. I was happy with the quality of these for the $22.34 that we paid for them. While you could definitely get these a little cheaper at a retail store, this cost is on par with other boutique shops.

I thought they fit him very well and while they are a bit baggy, the skinny style makes it not quite as noticeable, plus, as usual, there is still room for him to grow, so I think these will probably work well into next fall for us unless he has a sudden growth spurt like his sister!

Colorblock Windbreaker, Size XS (4T/5T) - $42.00, VIP Cost $34.95 (Currently on sale for $25.00)

Since we seem to be nearing the end of winter, I figured my son could use a light jacket for the cooler spring weather. I really loved the colors of this one online and it is even cuter in person! The lightweight material is actually fairly soft (none of that irritating swishy sound) and it has a mesh lining inside which makes it breathable. The sleeves have cinched cuffs and this outerwear also features two pockets on the front. I paid $27.61 for this one, and while that might be a lot, I have to put it into perspective here - this is a size 4T/5T so I believe he will get at least a good solid year (or more) of use from this jacket since it is oversized and since he has a little brother, I know it will get even more use as a hand-me-down, so the cost doesn't bother me at all for an item like this.

While he wears 4T and this is a 4T/5T jacket, it still fits him really well and doesn't swallow him up, yet there is still plenty of room for him to grow or to layer it on the occasional very cool day.

Here you can see the whole outfit together. Cute, stylish, and weather-appropriate!

The Verdict: While I didn't get many items from FabKids this month, I feel like the two pieces I did get were quality basics that my son needed and knowing that they will get passed down to his little brother one day makes them worth a little bit more to me. The windbreaker is especially cute and I am sure he will get a lot of use out of it over the next year or so! The total retail value of these two pieces is $76.00 ($61.90 with VIP savings) and I saved a little by shopping during their Leap Year sale and only paid $54.94 with taxes and free shipping.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! As of publication, these items are both still available.

Value Breakdown: The total retail price for everything is $76.00, but the VIP total is $61.90. That’s a VIP savings of about 19%. Since I paid sale prices my total was $54.94 which is a savings of 28%.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
