Birchbox Grooming Limited Edition You-Time Box Review

Here is the info sheet for the box.

I also like this breakdown of which part of "you" each item in the box correlates to.

Bombas Men’s Donegal Calf Socks in Black – Estimated Value $15 (linked to a similar pair)

This isn’t my first run-in with Bombas socks, and I am happy to have another pair. Yeah, they’re labeled as ~men’s~ socks, but they fit my feet just fine and keep my toes warm. I usually buy my socks in value packs and I can definitely experience the quality in these socks compared to what I usually wear. Plus, for every pair of socks purchased Bombas will donate a pair to someone in need.

W&P Completion Card Game – Retail Value $12

W&P is a lifestyle brand that focuses on the best you can have when entertaining others or enjoying a good meal by yourself. This game is definitely one that could be played over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, and it works by gathering all of the elements that make up the design on the featured card. This is definitely a more polite option than my go-to game (Cards Against Humanity), and I thought it was easy to understand without being a game meant for kids.

Lumin After Hours Recovery Oil, 0.33 oz - Retail Value $19

This recovery oil is made with squalene and argan oil, two oils that are known for being nourishing powerhouses. On its own, this is a bit heavy, but I liked the recommendation of using this before you step onto a flight (which is where the change in altitude is going to suck your skin dry). This would also work to spot-treat targeted areas or to seal in your skincare routine before you go to bed.

(MALIN+GOETZ) almond hand treatment, 1 oz - Retail Value $14

I really like this brand, so I am always happy to see more of it in subscription boxes. This smells just like almonds and is made with honey and shea butter to give your hands some deep hydration. It did take a few seconds for this to absorb fully, but my soft skin was worth the wait.

Air Repair Complexion-Boosting Moisturizer, 2 oz - Retail Value $23

This moisturizer features cloudberry seed oil along with green tea, hyaluronic acid, and aloe vera- all ingredients that my sensitive skin loves. I liked that this moisturizer didn’t feel too heavy, and I especially like the affordable price tag- this would be a solid budget-friendly day moisturizer for those with dry skin and one I would happily recommend to friends looking to expand their skincare horizons.

Avène Thermal Spring Water, 5 oz - Retail Value $14

Spraying this on my face is what I imagine walking through a cloud would be like. The aerosol spray creates a super fine mist, and the thermal spring water instantly added moisture to my skin. I felt like the serums I applied after using this sank in better, and honestly, this is a product that takes three seconds to use yet makes me feel like a pampered queen.

Anthony Blue Sea Kelp Body Scrub, 12 oz - Retail Value $28

I love the blue color of this body wash- it is fun, and I am always down for that. I do think calling this a body wash would be more accurate than a body scrub- while it does have scrubby bits, it is not abrasive at all and is gentle enough for everyday use. My biggest complaint is that the big bottle is a bit unwieldy, and it can take a little extra effort to get the product to disperse. This is made with sea salt, sea kelp, pumice, and aloe, and it has a very light fragrance for a product that has cinnamon and nutmeg on the ingredients list.

Port Products Marine Layer® Intense Recovery Treatment Mask, 2 masks - Estimated Value $22 (Buy a set of four for $44)

I am always down for a fancy sheet mask, so I was excited about these. Right off the bat, I thought they smelled like men’s cologne. There is no added fragrance, but this does have lavender, peppermint, and bergamot oil in the ingredients list. Using this mask was actually a bit of a disaster- I had to take it off after only a minute or so because the serum had gotten in my eyes and was burning, and parts of my cheeks felt a stinging sensation as well. I guess the marine recovery was too ~intense~ for me here.

Maapilim Serum, 1 oz - Retail Value $49

I really like this serum! It has hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and olive extract to hydrate skin without being heavy, and this truly is a lightweight serum that absorbed into my skin quickly. It layered well in my routine, and I do feel like my skin was more hydrated throughout the day when I used this in the morning.

Hugs CBD Bath Bomb - Retail Value $14

I don’t like showing weakness, which means that when I stepped back into the gym after a few months away I didn’t ease myself into it- I went all out. My muscles screamed at me for three days after, and I had high hopes this CBD-infused bath bomb would be able to be of assistance. My muscle soreness ended up being too much for this bath bomb to handle, but the parts of my body that weren’t sore from the gym felt relaxed and soothed after a long soak with this bad boy. I would try this out again, but it definitely didn’t work any miracles for me.

Verdict: I truly love the curated boxes that Birchbox puts out- I always find new brands or products that I enjoy, and I find the curation to be top-notch. That holds true for this one- it really has everything you need for a solid self-care session, no matter your gender. Value-wise, Birchbox promised a total value of $207 with this set, and by my math, they came out a few dollars ahead with a total value of $210.

I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

I’d like to see a male review birchbox mens boxes. I know this box can be used by both sexes because I’d definitely use all these items, however, I want a mans take on it. I see these boxes and part of me wants to buy it for my husband but then I question whether or not he’d really be into stuff like this. And I dont want to ask him or it’d ruin the surprise of getting him it without him knowing.

Agreed. It’s a bit of a missed opportunity on MSA’s part. I’ve been trying to ease my 53 year old husband into a better skincare regimen and I need all the help I can get, lol.
