Got my box today and am actually angry about it. Birchbox was supposed to be a better box with the price increase – I got 5 tiny samples, really tiny. To think I took a chance and subbed for a year. I’m going to write a complaint to Birchbox. Some nerve!

Reveals are up in app. I got:
– Stila lip gloss (choice)
– R+Co Rodeo thickening foam (love R+Co; don’t use this type of product)
– MAC strobe cream (eeeuuugh)
– Onekind pore refining mask (don’t use this type of product)
– IBY eye shadow (already own this palette… twice over, actually. have one up for swap.)

I’m. I don’t know. This might be a good box for someone, not me? I don’t have any complaints about the brands or quality of the products. Between the highlight cream, mousse, & mask, it just feels like Birchbox deliberately put in the items I indicated that I do not use in my current routine.

Hey Marion, have you received IBY eyeshadow pallet from birchbox in the past? I am getting that too so was curious is it 9 pan one the way it shows or some small version if it.

Here is what I am getting:
Marcelle BB cream golden glow
Stilla lip gloss
Sunday Riley good gene all in one lactic acid treatment
NatureLab Tokyo perfect volume blowout jelly
IBY beauty city limits eyeshadow pallet

I have mixed feelings about my box but atleast first 3 products will be used. I don’t use any hair products and I don’t do much make up so eyeshadow pallet is not for me.

If you look at the curated box photos, you can see a little beige clamshell… that’s a sample of one of the shades from the palette. I really like the way IBY does their shadow samples. I own several from Ipsy. The clamshell indicates the shade inside, so you don’t have to dig around through your singles collection, you can just immediately see the shade you want. They’re also very sturdy, perfect for throwing a couple shades in your travel bag.

I swapped for points. The box with all makeup looked ok, but the points seemed like a better choice. I might go for points for a while and get something I’d really want.

I chose the curated box that’s all makeup. I’m excited to try those things, and I’m glad it wasn’t sold out already.

Can you please add at least the product names so we know what is there in each box. I cannot read the names of the items from the photos and I do not understand why product names are not being provided all of a sudden when they have always been so in the past. It would not take long to look up the products and add the correct name listings, especially because MSA has always done this before

Nothing interest me this month and I am not seeing an option to swap for points. ☹️ I hope I can figure this out soon atleast before the only other box i would prefer is gone.

AP

There was the option to swap for points, but it was in a different location rather than listed with the samples and curated boxes. If you go back to the “customize” screen it should be on there.

Hi AP, on the customization screen in only see sample choice and curated boxes. In checked in web browser and app both. I did drop an email to their customer service, waiting for the response. Could it be because this is my gift subscription?

Marion

I picked the Stila lip gloss. Usually I get annoyed if they send me another one of the “choice” products in my customized box, but I would not mind receiving the B&B hair oil, too!

I’m an Ace…and I cancelled. There is nothing here that I need or want.

I’m actually pretty excited about Box #1, except for the Jane Iredale sample, which I have received repeatedly.

Marion

It’s good for a full face! And of all the Manna Kadar products you could possibly get, I don’t think that one has been sent in subs yet. Looks cute!

Melissa

Oh geez, I still forgot that the box #s listed on here are different from the ones on Birchbox’s site. So I am getting Box #3 on here – the Clean Beauty one with the Jane Iredale and the host of skin products.

I am interested in the Manna Kadar product, but it isn’t in the box I selected. 🙁

Christy

Can you still use your points that you swapped for if you deactivate your account? My year-long subscription ends after April, and I think I’ve swapped for points twice, and I am going to do it again this time.

Christy, you can always use points when you shop in the Birchbox store. Like Amanda said, your Birchbox account/profile and your *beauty box subscription* are not the same thing. Like you can buy (and use points) on the Dermstore website without having an active BeautyFix account.

Speaking of, I’m ready for BeautyFix spoilers LOL.

Amanda P

Your account won’t deactivate when you unsubscribe and you can use the points any time. Is that what you mean? If you emailed them and asked them to take down/delete your account then I’m not sure.

For the first time in my three years of subscribing to Birchbox, not a thing tempted me and I was happy to swap for points. Saving my shop points up for a discount on an expensive bottle of Arizona perfume that was sampled a couple months back. On product overload anyway….🤷‍♀️

Amanda P

Me too, I’ve been subbed for 5 years and have never swapped for points! They had a great run with me to date but I may not resubscribe. I have about 2 dozen unopened hair samples but still have to regularly buy skincare and makeup.

Amanda P

Swapping for points this month, I have pretty much every item already except the masks – and I got the mask box last month. Come on, let’s see something new!
