The Fairy Bag January 2020 Review

All of our items came inside this pink mesh bag with The Fairy Bag logo on it.

We received two cards in our box. The first detailed the items inside below a quote from Shel Silverstein. The second card welcomed us to The Fairy Bag and included some information about how we can earn fairy stars each month along with some information about their shop and a monthly giveaway.

Pink Unicorn Headband - Estimated Value $11.99 (based on a similar headband found here)

The first item in our box was this beautiful pink unicorn headband. We see these everywhere and we actually purchased a handmade one at a craft fair a long time ago, but it has since come apart, so she was very excited to see this one, especially in her favorite color! It seems to be well made with the headband being wrapped in ribbon and little rubber pieces at the end for comfort. I love all of the details like the lace ears, the bow with gold glitter and the gold elastic around the horn. Cute and girly!

Sure it might be a little ridiculous, but she loves it and that's all that matters to me!

Mouse Ears Purse

This is a cute purse with Minnie Mouse vibes, although not branded or licensed. I love the soft pebbled texture of the bag which has a hidden magnetic closure. The muted pink is also very cute and looks great with the bright red bow accent. It's a small bag, but perfect for a little girl!

The strap is fairly long, but you could easily tie a knot in it for a shorter child!

Butterfly Clips

These butterfly clips are so pretty! I love the fluttery, colorful wings and Liv was pretty excited for these as well since she loves butterflies. These seem well made, and also seem like they would be fairly easy to recreate as a DIY project! While they work beautifully in hair, they can also be placed just about anywhere using the ribbon covered clip.

Here they are in her hair. She did put them in herself.

Mermaid Ring

The last item is our favorite! This small mermaid ring features a large multi-colored stone and a tail with pave crystals. It is also adjustable so she was able to get a perfect fit. It looks to me like it reads "S925" on the inside of the band, so I believe it is actually 925 sterling silver. It is a nice little ring and while you can see the glue in these photos because I used a Macro lens, you can't see any of that in person.

Here it is on. So pretty! I can tell she feels very fancy when she wears it, too, which is cute!

Verdict: My daughter loved all of the items she received from The Fairy Bag this month. I think the items were perfect for the 4-6 age group and any little girl who likes to accessorize should enjoy it! This box is definitely more on the girly end as far as the style, but for my daughter who naturally gravitates towards this style anyway, it was right up her alley! I felt like the items were all decent quality and on par with what I would expect for a box designed for young girls. Since none of the items were branded and only had The Fairy Bag tags, I was unable to find retail values, but at $19.98 ($14.99+ $4.99 shipping) for this box that gives each of the four items a value of about $5.00, which seems fair. My daughter enjoyed the experience and I could see this making a fun surprise for the little girl in your life!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive next month's box. From The Fairy Bag:

"Boxes will be shipped between the 17th and 21st of every month"

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.98 with free shipping which means each of the 4 items has an average value of about $5.00.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

This is adorable! Like Quirky Crate in tiny sizes! I feel the quality looks better than what you could buy at Claire’s, and you’d spend more than $15 buying these items at Claire’s, too, AND not have the “surprise present in the mail” factor!

My 2 year old niece will definitely be getting a gift sub of this if it is still around when she’s 4!

WoW!!! If I would have gotten a purse like that when I was her age, well I would have thought I had died and gone to heaven. What a fabulous box!! The headband, to die for.

Me too! I have pretty small fingers so it could even fit me! In fact I think this whole box is cute even for adult women with a certain style. ;D The purse would be a super clutch!

What a terrific value for the money! Four terrific items for a girly-girl. Now that’s an amazing sub to gift if you’re a grandma, for example.

Thank you for the detailed review and photographs. I am really impressed with these items.

I think you put a different cost in the verdict section. At $14.99 it brings each item down to about $2.90.
Very cute sub!

Thanks for the heads up, DawnS! My verdict cost was correct, but I had the old shipping info at the beginning of the review! Sorry for the confusion! It has been updated now! 🙂
