Nomadik "Wellness On The Go" January 2020 Review

There is a small trifold pamphlet that goes over the three items included in this month's box as well as Nomadik tips, the Nomadik challenge, and some brand discounts.

Rains Small Wash Bag in Black - Retail Value $34.00

I never thought a toiletries bag could be sexy, but here we are. I am in awe of how sleek this waterproof travel bag is and I appreciate the neutral color they've sent. Sometimes boxes will send the least popular color, but here we have a classic black which is always appealing to me. This smooth baby measures 13 cm high x 21 cm long x 10.5 cm wide which provides ample space for all the things you need on a camping trip or really any trip you'll be taking. I can see the water resistance being especially helpful while walking from a campsite to the bathrooms if it's wet out (especially that water-resistant zipper). It has an inner pocket on the side as well that can keep special items (like bandages, perhaps) handy or even jewelry. This could also be used as a makeup bag since anything that may accidentally spill inside could be easily wiped out. What a great item!

Active Skin Repair, 3 oz. - Retail Value $24.99

Lucky for me, I don't have a use for this natural skin repair spray at the moment, but this is a handy product to have on hand, indeed. It can be used on minor things like scrapes, bruises, bug bites, and sunburns, so it's a really useful item while you're out in nature. I have to say that I find the spray to be convenient and it doesn't have any scent to it at all. It uses an ingredient called HOCI which is normally produced by our bodies and can help the healing process. While I don't understand all that jazz, I'm happy to try this out as soon as I have a reason.

Green Goo Castile Wash in Double Mint, 2 oz. - Estimated Value $0.91 (Buy a full-size 24 oz. for $10.95)

After reading the bottle in the shower, I learned that Green Goo is a women-owned family business which I can certainly get behind. Like other Castile soaps, this one has a myriad of uses and isn't only for cleansing your body. The ultimate green product, this can also wash laundry, dishes, and be used as an all-purpose cleaner. Since it doesn't get sudsy, it's less harmful to the environment and this double mint scent happens to smell ahhhhmazing. It made my skin feel really clean and I think this is the perfect companion to a hiking trip with its many uses!

Verdict: Nomadik kept it simple this month and I couldn't be happier. I think the Rains wash bag is a superb and somewhat unexpected item that is really useful. As much as I love it, I ended up giving it to Kurt since he didn't already have a toiletries case. The Castile soap is clearly useful, especially when packing light for camping and I love the scent it came in. Although I wasn't able to test out the skin repair item, I'm glad to have it on hand so I can be prepared when I inevitably get a burn, bite, or scrape this year. The total retail value of the three items comes to an estimated $59.90 which is more than $20 over the cost.

I’m confused by this… why include a random black bag as the big ticket item? Isn’t this supposed to be be an outdoor adventure box?

Hi Delia,
I think of the Rains bag as “big ticket” personally because of the retail value and that it isn’t just a protein bar or a smaller $5.00 clip (which are both examples of normal items in this box). The fact that it’s a waterproof bag can be helpful when traveling/camping or even on a trip like kayaking. 🙂
