Fabletics VIP Plus Size Review + Coupon – Separates + Socks

Fabletics is a monthly fitness apparel subscription co-founded by Kate Hudson, which includes a plus size line of their fashionable workout gear! You can shop their line in two different ways—either you can shop through their regular store or sign up as a VIP member. The VIP Membership works like this:

  • Take the Fabletics quiz, which will let the company know your size, style, and fitness needs.
  • Each month, Fabletics will curate looks that match your preferences. According to the website, outfits start at $24.00 for new members. (I’m not sure if “new members” refers to just your first order, though.)
  • Shop those looks at 40-50% off what you’d get just paying retail, or skip the month. You have to make your decision by the 5th of the month. If you do neither, the $49.95 monthly membership fee will be saved to your account as a credit, which you can put towards other outfits later.
  • As you shop, you’ll also earn points that can be applied to accessories and other cool fitness essentials.

Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, you are not automatically sent a package each month. You have to go into your account and either decide to add items to your card or skip it. Subscriptions can be canceled at any time, though you do have to call into Fabletics customer service to do it.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Fabletics Plus Size December 2019 Review

This month’s delivery didn’t include the typical order invoice, so onward to the review we go!

Ally Open Back Tank in Black Cherry (Activation Outfit Bundle), Size 3x — Retail Value $39.95, VIP Price $29.95, VIP Outfit Bundle Rate $79.95, VIP Sale Price $39.95

There was a sale when I originally placed my order, so I got this outfit for a heck of a deal at $39.95 when it generally goes for the $79.95 VIP rate! I simply couldn’t resist. Plus, I was excited to get a tank to wear at the gym. I won’t lie to you guys, this top looks bizarre on me, but I like the billowy cut and slit in the back for practical reasons– for keeping cool while working out. The fabric is a thinner, lightweight cotton but is still rather well made. The deep black cherry is a rich burgundy and looks beautiful paired with the leggings and sports bra or with an all-black set as a second option. I didn’t think about this ’til spotting the styling on the Fabletics site, but you can tie the back flaps to give it a cropped look as well.

Kessler Medium Impact Sports Bra in Rosie Mauve (Activation Outfit Bundle), Size 3x — Retail Value $44.95, VIP Price $34.95, VIP Outfit Bundle Rate $79.95, VIP Sale Price $39.95

This bright rosie pink is cuter than I had expected. I am a sucker for reds and pinks paired together, so this was another reason I bought this outfit. This bra, even though it is medium-impact and not my typical high-impact support bra, still provides comfort and security. The back strap design is neat, but gets lost on my back at instances. Regardless, I like this bra, but I will generally select my high-impact ones since they are my all-time favorite sports bra that Fabletics offers.

High Waisted Powerhold 7/8 Leggings in Persimmon (Activation Outfit Bundle), Size 3x — Retail Value $69.95, VIP Price $44.95, VIP Outfit Bundle Rate $79.95, VIP Outfit Bundle Rate $39.95

Finally, a true red pair of leggings! I have been on the hunt for months. I reviewed a Fabletics set back in the summer in Paprika that I thought was a vibrant red, but turned out to be more of a coral shade. Pretty, but not red. The only negative about these “Persimmon,” AKA red, leggings is the lack of pockets, but at the same time I actually like that they don’t have them because I can wear these out and about and have them pass for non-workout gear possibly. The high-waisted Powerhold style remains one of my favorite leggings that Fabletics offers, only eclipsed by my fondness of their EXTRA high-waisted Powerhold style. What can I say, I like way these leggings make me feel held in– I hate pulling up leggings while working out at the gym.

Three Single Pairs of Socks — Retail Value $5.95/pair, VIP Price $4.95/each or three for $11.95

The No Show Sock in Lilac — Retail Value $5.95, VIP Price $4.95

The No Show Sock in Glacier — Retail Value $5.95, VIP Price $4.95

The No Show Sock in Black — Retail Value $5.95, VIP Price $4.95

Back in August I reviewed Fabletics socks for the first time– I liked them so much I ordered some more! I am sad to see they are sold out/discontinued the No Show socks since I ordered this bunch. They are super comfortable, not flimsy or thin, and almost offer a slight cushion. I also like the dip under the ankle, which provides a more relaxed fit. I opted to take advantage of the three pairs for $11.95 in classic Black, Glacier (light seafoam blue/green), and Lilac.

Verdict: Fabletics continues to be my favorite for activewear! They offer so many different styles and I can see they are broadening their plus options, but they still have a way to go. I want to see all the cute outfits in straight sizes offered in plus as well. Why? Because I love Fabletics’ product! Every piece I have received is incredibly well made and comes in a variety of styles and colors! I  would love to see more $49.95 sets too; there seem to be more $69.95 and $79.95 sets these days. I am extremely pleased with the three-piece set I got this month at $39.95 because it is an immense deal– especially considering the leggings alone generally go for $44.95 a la carte! My only grievance, and I know I sound like a broken record, is that I truly hope Fabletics extends their size range even further. I would love to see them offer styles in 5x and 6x. Providing an even more inclusive line will allow them to really go against competitors like Lane Bryant’s Livi Active and Torrid’s activewear options as well. I simply want all us bodacious babes to have options!

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, but not in sizes 1x-3x– they are sold out, sadly! Sign up here to nab other plus size workout gear from Fabletics.

COUPON: Get two pairs of leggings for $24 ($99 value). No coupon needed - just use this link.

Value Breakdown: The Activation outfit retails for $154.85 with a VIP bundle rate of $79.95. I got the set at the magnificent price of $39.95– that is $114.90 in savings on the three-piece set alone. The socks retail for $5.95 each, but I got three pairs for $11.95. That is an additional savings of $5.90 I saved!  That means I saved a grand total of $120.80 which is roughly a 69% savings! That’s an awesome value!
