Disney Princess Enchanted Collection “Tiana” Review – January 2020

Before I get into the review, I wanted to share some information about the various frequency options since they are a bit different. They offer a box-to-box option as well as several prepaid options: quarterly, annual, or custom-scheduled boxes (minimum of two boxes). With the box-to-box plan, you receive a box every other month since it is shipped in 2-month cycles. For the pre-paid subscriptions they are as follows:

“For one-year subscriptions, boxes are delivered monthly. For quarterly subscriptions, one box is delivered every 3 months. For customized schedules, the purchaser selects the months to receive a box.”

Just keep these in mind when choosing your subscriptions! If you know you’d like at least two boxes, it seems like the custom option is the best value and offers the most flexibility. Now let’s get into the review!

When you sign up you get to choose your Princess from six different options, which may be different from those listed above since they seem to rotate frequently. For subsequent shipments, you are only given a choice of three Princesses and those are not necessarily the same options you will have next time, so you may want to make sure you prioritize and choose your most favorite since you may not be offered that Princess again for awhile!

The magic begins with your box which is designed to match whichever Princess you are receiving and has a cute note reminding them to thank whoever sent them this box. This time there was a fun prompt for dreaming up your own restaurant and creating a signature dish just like our Princess Tiana might.

At the top of our box was a letter from Tiana along with a special assignment from her on the back. First, Tiana asks your princess to create a Mardi Gras poster using purple, yellow and green. Second, she asks her to use their confidence and host her own Mardi Gras parade in her costume by marching around the house to some music. The third activity is to set up an obstacle course, which they relate to the way Tiana worked really hard to overcome obstacles to achieve her dream. I think these are all super cute ideas and I know my daughter will enjoy completing them! It’s also a great way to emphasize that these Princesses aren’t just about dressing beautiful on the outside, but also have good qualities and characteristics on the inside that make them special!

Princess Map

In our first box, we received this map and note from our Fairy Godmother. The map features shields in various locations, all of which mark where a different Princess is from. We get a coordinating sticker to add to our map with each new Princess. My daughter is always eager to add each new shield to the map!

Tiana Stickers

The stickers are always cute and very specific to the Princess and their movie, but I do wish the sheet was a little bigger. It seems like a fair ask, considering the cost of this subscription!

The Princess and the Frog – Retail Value $4.99

This month our storybook is the Little Golden Book version of The Princess and the Frog. This was a simplified story that just touched on the main points from the movie and it included illustrations as opposed to movie stills. This will be a nice classic tale to add to our library.

Tiana Costume, Size 7/8 – Retail Value $44.95

My daughter has declared that Tiana is her favorite Disney Princess, so she was thrilled to see Tiana was an option for her this month and very excited to have her own dress to match her! This dress is very nice quality, which has been a consistent trend so far, and it has glittery lilypads all over the front and a nice layered lilypad accent at the waist. The sequins and layered details at the top of the dress are very nicely done and look even prettier in person. I was surprised at how the glitter did escape this dress (swipe to the end) considering the quality is so nice and we haven’t experienced that before! Normally, the dresses are available on the website, and sometimes even on sale, but it looks like this one is either sold out or no longer sold at all, so this month, I think the retail value holds up!

Liv and I both loved how the beautiful layers of glittery tulle at the bottom flared out to form a nice full skirt. She typically wears a size 7 so this dress is just a tad big on her, mostly, just a little wide, but that means she will be able to wear it for a lot longer! The back has a nice soft fabric that makes it comfortable to wear and not itchy at all. She will definitely be able to perform a fun Mardi Gras march for her parade in this dress comfortably!

Online Extras

Once you receive your box you will get an email notification about a video greeting from your Princess. You’ll find this under the “messages” section of your account. My daughter enjoys watching these messages over and over, and it feels like such a personal touch to her!

Additionally, you will receive a coupon for $10 off your next $50 purchase at shopDisney or Disney stores. The first time it took around a month for us to receive ours, but last time it took nearly two months, at which point I had definitely forgotten I was even supposed to receive this. It does expire about 2 months after you receive it.

The Verdict: The Disney Princess Enchanted Collection is definitely magic in a box to any little girl who enjoys Princesses and dressing up like one! I love that they make your girl feel special and allow them to engage with the chosen character in a positive way that also emphasizes inner traits. It makes for such a nice surprise and a very special gift. The costume was beautiful and high-quality, my daughter enjoyed the book, and the fact that she received both a written message with fun activities and a video message from Tiana really added to the special experience. This box cost $58.29 ($54.99 + tax) so for us, I think that the value is there considering the retail total for our dress and book alone comes to $49.94, however, I don’t think that the remaining items (stickers, interactive box, and Princess messages) quite add up to the promised value of $65. While the coupon holds no value for us, personally, it could definitely add some value to this box for someone who knows they would get use out of it!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, this Princess Tiana box is still available, however, boxes are offered on a rotating basis, so it may not be available for your first box!

  1. This is a cute subscription. I thought the dress was really pretty.

  2. I think it kind of stinks that they give you $10 off $50 or more. I would probably never get use out of that coupon. I think they should just give a $10 coupon, kind of like Macy’s does, or at least give $10 off $10 or more or even $10 off $20 or more would even make it worth it. I just think that box us too expensive for what was inside but that’s just my opinion. But, I do think that princess dress is adorable!

    • I wish the coupon was more useful, too! I’m not sure how many people would be willing to spend so much on the box and then another $50 at their store regularly. Even a $10 off $20 would be nice to use towards some of the Princess accessories they sell!

  3. Great review, and your daughter is precious 🙂

    • Thanks, Sammee! 🙂
