Disney Princess Enchanted Collection “Jasmine” Review

Before I get into the review, I wanted to share some information about the different frequency options since they are a bit different. They offer a box-to-box option as well as several prepaid options: quarterly, annual, or custom-scheduled boxes (minimum of two boxes). With the box-to-box plan, you receive a box every other month since it is shipped in 2-month cycles. For the pre-paid subscriptions they are as follows:

“For one-year subscriptions, boxes are delivered monthly. For quarterly subscriptions, one box is delivered every 3 months. For customized schedules, the purchaser selects the months to receive a box.”

Just keep these in mind when choosing your subscriptions! If you know you’d like at least two boxes, it seems like the custom option is the best value and offers the most flexibility. Now let’s get into the review!

When you sign up you get to choose your first Princess. These are some of the princesses that they currently offer, although at the time we were only given three options: Ariel, Jasmine or Aurora. My daughter chose Jasmine as her first Princess and has decided it will double as her Halloween costume!

The magic began with our box, which came protected in a sleeve so that there were no mailing labels to take away from our great design. On the front, we have Abu while on either side we have Raja and Jasmine, and the best part is that our Magic Carpet is also featured and can be cut out to form our very own carpet to ride on. How fun!

When we opened the box the top featured a color by letter activity and underneath all of our goodies was a note about how someone special sent us this box. I love that they recommend writing them a thank you note!

At the top of our box was a letter from Jasmine with a great positive message about seeing the good in others and being generous. I love the beautiful illustrations of her, Abu and Raja on either side! The back features a special assignment from Jasmine which included three tasks. The first was to find three new places to travel to and learn about it, the second was to be a leader and speak in front of at least two people by telling them about where you would like to travel, and the third was to pretend travel on your own Magic Carpet. I thought these were cool ideas and a great way to teach some important skills in Princess fashion.

Princess Map

We also received this map with a letter from our Fairy Godmother. This map features shields in various locations, all of which mark where a different Princess is from. My daughter was able to figure out who almost every shield was based on the symbols included on them. She might be a little more Princess-obsessed than I realized!

Jasmine Stickers

To go along with our map we received this sheet of stickers which contains the shield for Jasmine. My daughter went ahead and added it to her map and she can continue to do so each time she receives a new Princess box.

Disney Aladdin Read-Along Storybook and CD – Retail Value $6.99

Our storybook comes with a fun Read-Along CD, which is sort of surprising considering the scarcity of CD players these days! Fortunately, we have one in our car so we will plan on listening to it there since we don’t actually have any boomboxes anymore. While it might be a bit of an outdated form, the storybook itself is nice and features a lengthy summarization of the movie complete with illustrations and scenes from the film. I do like that the CD features the voices of the characters from the movie which makes it more authentic and appealing to the kids!

Jasmine Costume, Size 7/8 – Retail Value $44.95

I was very pleased with the quality of our costume from the start! The billowy pants are so soft and come with a cuffed hem and there are metallic gold details all up the sides of them. The waist features a shiny gold band that stretches to allow for a good fit and the front has a great panel of sequins that seem to be attached very well. The top is also nicely made from various materials and features more metallic gold and sequins. Her favorite part is the great magic lamp charm in the center at the top. I like the little gold circles around the bottom which help to cover her midriff a bit more without taking away from the design.

Here is my little Princess channeling Jasmine in all of her creative poses. She has already decided to be Jasmine for Halloween so after I find a few accessories for her, my job is done! I was a little worried this costume would be too revealing for a 5-year-old, but as long as she keeps her arms down, her midriff is pretty much covered. This is actually a tad big on her since she’s really closer to a 7 in size, but I’m happy that she won’t outgrow it as quickly as some of her other costumes! She thinks the costume is really comfortable and has not complained about any fit or itchiness issues at all, which is something that has happened with other (cheaper) Disney costumes we own. I am just happy with the nicer quality!

She and her brothers have been enjoying their travels on the magic carpet, although we haven’t cut it out yet since it allows for more room this way. This was such a cute idea and a perfect way to repurpose our box!

Online Extras

Once you receive your box you will get an email notification about a video greeting from your Princess. You’ll find this under the “messages” section of your account. This was a brief 38-second greeting that my daughter seemed to enjoy!

Additionally, you will receive a coupon for $10 off your next $50 purchase at shopDisney or Disney stores. I wasn’t sure when to expect this or how it would be delivered, but a quick email to customer service provided a response in record timing (less than 5 minutes):

“Your coupon will be sent to you any day now! These usually arrive via email anywhere from a few days to a week after your box has been delivered.”

The Verdict: This Disney Princess Enchanted Collection box really surprised me! I think most people would agree that you pay a premium for authentic Disney items and so I had somewhat lower expectations in the value we would receive in our box, but honestly, the quality of the items and all of the extra details really made it feel so special! As for the costume, I was so thrilled that it was very authentic looking and that it lacked the infamously itchy material that most costumes are made of. While this is definitely on the pricier end, I think that this would make a fantastic gift for any Princess-loving girl! The total value for the costume and book comes to $51.98 and we also received a map, sheet of stickers, interactive box, and a video greeting from our Princess along with with a $10 off $50 coupon, so for the overall experience, I think we met their promised value of over $65! My only concern would be that this coupon may not hold the same value for everyone since it does have such a high minimum. Personally, I would love to see one more little trinket or something in lieu of the coupon, but since the holidays are coming up, I am sure I can find use for it! However, this is probably not something that would be useful to me multiple months in a row.

  1. Yay! Love it!

  2. I would have loved this when I was a kid! I don’t think it’s priced too terribly either, considering how pricey their costumes are. Looks like they’ve done it beautifully with all the little touches, the magic carpet box got me! When my niece is a little older I might get this for her 🙂
