Birchbox 'Valentine's Night In' Curated Box #2 Review - February 2020

Per usual, this month's Birchbox came with a single info card that lists the products on the front, with a Birchbox Tip listed on the back.

Acure Brilliantly Brightening Biocellulose Mask - Retail Value $5.99

I'm shocked by the poor reviews for this mask on Birchbox, but my assumption is that those people didn't realize that this bad boy has not one but two plastic backings to keep the delicate biocellulose mask safe. I've been there! Sometimes it's really hard to tell and some sheet masks are a little different. That being said, Acure is quickly becoming one of my favorite mask brands mainly because of their biocellulose variations. They are really fun to use, always stick really well to my face, and I'm never left with too much serum afterward. These have the perfect amount to gently massage in afterward. This one was ever so slightly tacky until it all seeped in, but once it did, my face felt incredible. Remember everyone- read those directions! Some masks have double-backing that need to be peeled off to get to the actual mask. This one should feel gelatinous and form super well to the face. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Avène Rich Hydrance Hydrating Cream, 0.5 oz. - Estimated Value $12.31 (Buy a full-size 1.3 oz. for $32.00)

"Rich" is the perfect word to describe this facial cream, so the name is quite suitable. My face has been feeling extra dry lately due to the season as well as getting multiple facials a week while going to school for Esthetics. Adding a thin layer of this super hydrating cream really helped my skin feel plump and eliminated any tight feeling after cleansing. So far, I'm loving it.

NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Repair Treatment Mask, 1 oz. - Estimated Value $2.39 (Buy a full-size 6.7 oz. for $16.00)

This Japanese hair treatment mask is a first for Birchbox and came just in time to hopefully help my hair. After using hers Complete Hair Kit for two months, my hair was feeling quite dry. This mask aims to repair damaged hair after just three minutes in the shower (replacing conditioner) with ingredients like bamboo and keratin. It smells heavenly (it reminds me of Living Proof, slightly) and has a soft soothing texture that my hair just drinks up. This also helps with my little flyaways as well since it's smoothing and made my hair look shiny and sleek!

Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Eye, 0.1 oz. - Estimated Value $7.40 (Buy a full-size 0.5 oz. for $37.00)

Oh, Kiehl's, how I love thee. This eye cream is no stranger to Birchbox and I've actually received it in an exclusive kit this very month as well. Using my ring finger (it has the lightest touch), I dab a little bit of this below my eye, as well as the corners, and even on my lids since they have a darker pigment. While I don't get much puffiness, this cream is really soothing and the lavender essential oil helps me drift off to sleep in the evening after my skin routine.

Vasanti Makeup Magnet Wipes, 10 ct - Estimated Value $4.00 (Buy a 30 ct for $12.00)

I use makeup wipes in the evening anytime I wear makeup to get a head-start on my cleansing. They're especially good for traveling too since they're not liquid, so this 10 pack should prove to be convenient! These mini wipes are moistened with micellar water and are free of alcohol so they're quite gentle on skin. The leave a little squeakiness behind, but since you should follow these with a cleanser, the feeling shouldn't stick around. I think I'll actually pop these in my purse so I can remove eye makeup before practicing facials at school!

Verdict: I really enjoyed the curated "Valentine's Day In" Birchbox this month. There are plenty of items to pamper and I especially loved the sheet mask. This box has an estimated retail total of $32.09 which more than double the cost, so I think the value is great!
