BarkBox is a reader-favorite monthly subscription box for dogs.
BarkBox customizes your box to your dog’s size. For reference, this review is for the medium size, which is recommended for dogs 20-50 lbs. We recently changed the size because Tucker, our Standard Poodle, is the most playful pup in the house when it comes to toys.
FYI: Two of my dogs are quite old! Piper (the minpin) has to eat soft food and has trouble with hard treats. Charlie is a pug, and a glutton who will eat LITERALLY anything. They both still really enjoy toys, though it has been years since either of them managed to destroy anything.
If you have a younger pup or just one who needs toys of the rough and tumble variety, I highly recommend trying the Super Chewer subscription (read our reviews to learn more!).
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

January 2020 BarkBox "Snowbound Hounds" Review
The details behind our items this month were printed inside, on the box lining.
The January box included 2 toys, 2 bags of treats, and a chew - this is close to what you can expect with your monthly subscription, though it does vary for everyone once in a while.
A lot of these items are marked as 'Sold Out' on the BarkBox app - but they have a little 'As Seen In BarkBox' section of the BarkShop where you can grab items featured in monthly themes.
Snowman Nose Nibblers, two 4.5 oz bags
I was initially a little disappointed to receive two bags of the same treats because the second bag should have been the snowman's eyes. I then remembered that I made a personal request of the BarkBox team that all of the treats I get be at least a little soft due to Piper's lack of teeth. I am guessing this is why I happened upon two identical bags of treats. Needless to say, the dogs didn't know or care. They just loved these little nibblers and they were soft enough for Piper to indulge in.
As usual, the treats commanded intense focus at attention!
Toboggan Noggin - Retail Value $10.00
I am always blown away with how creative the BarkBox team is. This round rubber ball is covered in a cloth "snow" fabric and has inserts for treat "eyes" and a "nose." Tucker is obsessed with round toys so I knew he would adore this. He was also really excited when it squeaked for the first time. It kind of sent him into a really adorable frenzy.
Winter Bod Toy - Retail Value $10.00
This base attaches to the squeaky head. It has a pair of arms that tug back and forth inside the body. There is a squeaker inside too, and a little crinkle action. The yellow pee spot really made me chuckle.
Here are both sections attached together to form the snowman!
Though we didn't get eye treats, I did manage to stuff some of the nose treats into the sockets.
Tucker obviously didn't care either way.
The treats didn't last long, but he was still very interested in this toy even after he ate them because he adores round squeaky things.
He also seemed to enjoy tugging on the arms and the crinkle in the base really got him really wound up.
Sweet Potato Chew Stick
The little ones have been putting themselves to bed lately, which is both adorable, and also sad. They are so old! Tucker is the sole recipient of these chews and I saved it for one of those nights where we ended downstairs solo. He loved this and devoured it very quickly!
Verdict: BarkBox always gets my pups so excited. Even though Piper and Charlie are seniors, they still get really excited to see the box arrive at home! The snowman toy this month was so creative and Tucker loved it. I appreciate the team sending treats that Piper can also enjoy, and these little snowmen noses were a big hit!
