Stitch Fix Kids January 2020 Review

In our Stitch Fix Kids delivery, we received this cute sticker sheet.

This is the invoice that was sent in the Fix. It provides specifics on the brand, size, and price of each item. They also give instructions at the bottom for how to check out and either purchase or return your items in the pre-paid postmarked envelope they provide. The items for my daughter came to a total of $198, but with the 25% discount (which they take off BEFORE they deduct the $20) and the $20 credit, our total drops down to $128.50 (my invoice looks a little different because I have some credits on my account that it is applying). That's a savings of $69.50 on this Fix!

This is the included style sheet, which features pictures of all the clothing and a note from her stylist, who is the same one we had last month. Sometimes we get switched around, but I love it when we get the same stylist since I definitely think the relationship you have with them can make or break your Fix and the more they style you, the better the Fixes.

Amerie Sport Stripe Shift Dress by Persaya Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $22.00

First up, we have this super simple dress in dark gray with some fun rainbow stripes on the sleeves. We also have a baby model who wants to be just like his big sister lately so he may make another appearance in this review (as does her fancy hat). This dress wasn't anything really exciting, but it was basic and perfect for a young girl to run around in. She can pair it with leggings now and probably get away with wearing this one by itself in the spring, too. She did say that the rainbow stripes were itchy on her arms though.

Luna Sneakers by Capelli New York, Size 13 - Cost to Keep $20.00

This month we received a pair of sneakers and while I wasn't crazy about them, my daughter was really excited by them. She loves the shiny silver and the sparkly glitter on the sides. I like this style of shoes because they are substantial enough for her to run around and play in, but since they have a bit of sparkle, she could still (and definitely will - she has her own style) pair them with skirts and dresses.

She loves them!

Brisky Waffle Top by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $18.00

This top was huge on her and didn't really match her style at all either. I liked the color and the waffle-weave, but it looked really baggy and shapeless. I'm sure most of it has to do with the huge size, but it kind of seems like the material would be that way even if it had fit her better.

Jerico Skinny Pant by Moon & Stars, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00

Liv really dislikes jeans and I made a note of that in my feedback from her previous Fix, so I was happy to see that her stylist sent a different type of pant this time. Although, these are definitely a very specific look and I'm not sure what she has to pair them with. She loved that they were soft and comfortable and I liked that they were different from leggings, which are what she wears most. They were just a tad baggy, but overall, the fit wasn't bad. The waistband was not adjustable though.

Audrie Hacci Jogger by Moon & Stars, Size S - Cost to Keep $20.00

She also sent another pair of soft pants which Liv was so excited about when she tried them on and discovered how soft they were. They are a bit more casual, but I like the color and that they have pockets. They are a little baggy, but I see her getting a lot of wear out of them and the stretchy waist and cuffs at the bottom help with the fit.

Maryanne Graphic Sweatshirt by Tailor Vintage, Size 6/7 - Cost to Keep $26.00

This sweatshirt was really cute and kind of had a vintage feel to me for some reason, maybe the colors? It is a thinner sweatshirt and felt like a really age-appropriate piece. When paired with the joggers, it made for a super cozy outfit!

Emersyn Longsleeve Sequin Varsity Tee by Third Wish Clothing, Size 7 - Cost to Keep $20.00

A few Fixes ago we received a couple of these varsity sleeve tops and I had mentioned that we didn't really like the style much, but that was also a different stylist, so that may be why we were sent one of these tops again. The colors in this one are really nice and it is definitely a cute top that is age-appropriate, but she kept one of the others with this style sleeves, so we really don't need another!

Shelby Fleece Lined Seamless Legging by Capelli New York, Size M - Cost to Keep $12.00

The top did pair so perfectly with these leggings and I thought it made for a great outfit. These leggings are nice and thick with a soft fleece lining, but the issue with these leggings is that they are so tight at the ankles that they are really difficult to get on and off, so Liv is just not a fan.

Georgyna Cross Front Top by Love Glam Girl, Size S - Cost to Keep $24.00

This last top was really cute and I thought it fit her really well, but she was not a fan of how she could feel the inside of that embroidered line down the front. She's going through a phase with uncomfortable clothing features these days, I guess! I thought it was nicely made and would probably be adorable with some shorts in the spring!

Shelby Fleece Lined Seamless Legging by Capelli New York, Size M - Cost to Keep $12.00

These leggings are the same as the previous leggings, so while this design was also really cute and would easily pair nicely with a lot of items in her closet, she wasn't a fan due to the fit.

The Verdict: I was happy to see that Liv had the same stylist this month for her Fix from Stitch Fix Kids. It makes such a difference when there is consistency and you are able to communicate with one person who can take your feedback into consideration when choosing items. This stylist also does a great job of sending full outfits and items that can be paired together which I appreciate. The items were cute and age-appropriate, and while there were a few misses, overall, it felt very tailored to us and I felt like the feedback I gave last month was heard. Liv and I were both particularly happy that she sent some soft pants instead of jeans! I hope that we receive the same stylist next month and that she continues to get to know Liv and her style!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this Fix if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. Value Breakdown: This styling service cost $20 with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $198.00. The invoice lists the cost of each item next to it, but if I keep all of the items, then I get a 25% discount. The $20 styling fee for the Fix is applied to the purchase no matter how many items you keep, and in this case, it would bring the total down to $128.50. That’s a discount of around 35% for these items!

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I very much look forward to reading these reviews each month. My husband and I have no children and my niece likes out of state. So it is fun to see what “Liv” likes as it helps me pick out clothing for my own niece. Thank you for sharing your reviews.
