Sisley Paris "Best of 2019" Box December 2019 Review

Each box comes with a card indicating the theme of the box which is "Best of 2019".

As mentioned above, there was also a card reminding us that January is the last month ever for this subscription, as it is ending.

Every month, the products come nestled inside a satin pouch. Like last month, this time the pouch is a soft ivory.

Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Age Anti-Wrinkle Concentrated Serum, 2 mL - Estimated Value $36.00 (Buy a full-size 30 mL for $540.00)

Wow- this is a wonderfully rich and enveloping serum! It's not runny at all and has a fantastic scent that is... lavender? I was shocked at the retail price for the full size but now I am sort of understanding just with a couple of uses. The scent dissipates once the serum sinks into my skin and it leaves a matte yet somewhat glowing finish behind. I already have small pores, but I can see this serum minimizing those with larger ones and giving a smoother appearance overall. We're off to a great start...

SisleYouth Anti-Pollution Energizing Super Hydrating Youth Protector, 4 mL - Estimated Value $19.80 (Buy a full-size 40 mL for $198.00)

I love a good moisturizer so I'm excited to try this one that retails for $198. From the SisleYouth anti-pollution line, this hydrating cream is formulated with buckwheat seed, gingko biloba, pea extract, and kiwi extract. The cream itself feels quite moisturizing right away and gives my skin a dewy youthful look with little to no fragrance at all. The ingredients are said to protect from not only indoor and outdoor aggressors but also blue light from the screens many of us stare at all day. That's something I can get behind.

Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Age Hand Care Anti-Aging Concentrate, 4 mL - Estimated Value $8.27 (Buy a full-size 75 mL for $155.00)

This sample is from the same line as the first but is to be used for your hands. I don't know about y'all, but my hands are sooo thirsty all winter long from harsh weather and dry indoor heating (not to mention excessive washing to avoid colds). Although it's described as non-greasy, I do feel a little oily after putting this on my hands while I wait for it to sink in. Not only does this moisturize but it aims to reduce wrinkles and dark spots which can really show our age in hands. While I don't expect to see any results immediately, I did find this to be a little greasy for my liking, even after a few minutes.

Sisleÿa L'Integral Anti-Age Concentrated Firming Body Cream, 8 mL - Estimated Value $21.07 (Buy a full-size 150 mL for $395.00)

Another product from their same anti-age line is this foil packet of firming body cream. It may just be one of my favorites of the bunch. I used this right out of the shower and was really impressed again by the richness this cream has. There's a subtle pleasing scent that reminds me of Flower & Spice products although I can't pinpoint what ingredients they have in common to do so. The cream has a pale peach hue and I used it on my thighs, bottom, and upper arms in hopes I'd receive some of the firmness this can deliver over time. I really enjoyed slathering this on my body and should get two helpings for those target areas from this sample.

Sisley Hair Rituel Pre-Shampoo Purifying Mask with White Clay, 8 mL - Estimated Value $3.80 (Buy a full-size 200 mL for $95.00)

I love clay masks, so getting one for my hair was a real delight. The thick cream in this pouch is to go on dry hair at the root and be massaged and left on for 10 minutes prior to jumping in the shower. After the 10 minutes were up, I shampooed to rinse this out and conditioned my hair as usual. After a blow dry, I didn't really notice any major change in my hair, but this is meant to absorb impurities from my scalp. Here's hoping it helps me in the long run! Either way, I did enjoy the new experience.

Verdict: My first brush with the Sisley Beauty Subscription felt really fancy and I was overwhelmed with the prices of the full-size products. Because these are such high-end products, even the small samples they send end up fetching quite a retail value. Between the two foils and three small tubes, this box has an estimated value of a whopping $88.94. That's quite a deal for $10 and the only way I'd ever get to try these items, to be honest. This is the second to last box before their subscription stops for good, so I will probably be holding on to these babies and using them sparingly.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No- sadly, this subscription has ended. Look for our last review coming soon of the January box...

Value Breakdown: At $10 for this box, here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Wrinkle Serum: $4.05
  • Youth Moisturizer: $2.23
  • Hand Cream: $0.93
  • Body Cream: $2.37
  • Hair Mask: $0.43

Alternatively, each of these 5 samples has an average cost of $2.00.

This box I had renewed time and time again for well over 3 years, it was my favorite of the bunch. Even when I went on a monthly box hiatus, I kept this one, especially since I did the yearly plan. I’m sad to see this one go, but hope their new subscription plan coming out in the Spring is stellar.

This was my favorite box every month. I’m working hard to become a person who can purchase their full-sized stuff on a regular basis, but I’m not there yet. I’ll miss you, Sisley. Thanks for providing my “Treat yo self” moment every month for so long.

So sad this is ending. It’s the one beauty sub I would never cancel. Hopefully they have something even better coming up.

I read they’re starting a new subscription in the spring! I never got to do this one, so hoping I get to this time

Please let me know where you read this. I am already going through Sisley withdrawal. This has been my favorite sub box since I first signed up.

A six month gift subscription for my mom was described by her as “one of the best things anyone bought her” (which is kind of sad honestly; clearly I need to buy better gifts) and she was disappointed when it ended. I’ll be keeping a close eye on Sisley’s future boxes. Thank you to mysubscriptionaddition for bringing this subscription to my attention. 💙

I wish I would have known about sub boxes when my Mom was alive. She would have loved getting high end products. We (she and I) could never afford anything like good skincare. Gosh, I miss her so much. She was my best friend, too.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my Mom about 4 years ago and while it gets easier over time, it’s difficult for me around certain times of year. I hope you are able to find peace (not implying that you haven’t found it yet).

Mellissa

Hi Alice, I’m so sorry your mom passed away. My mom also loves skincare and would never buy it for herself. What was your mom’s first name?

Marne Orenich

Oh my gosh, that is so heartwarming to hear from your Mother! And I totally get that it’s a little sad too haha. I suppose you can always spring for her favorite full-size product as a super nice gift one day?
