January 2020 Dapper Dog Box Review

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Barkefeller Center NYC Bandana - Listed Value $30.00

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits around my dog's neck perfectly. The NYE in NYC themed patterns are adorable this month.

So cute! Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF Murray (he is my 8-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T!

Cycle Dog High Roller Dog Ball - Retail Value $9

Murray isn't very receptive to hard, rubbery toys, but I actually managed to get him to play with this one. It is made out of post-consumer recycled materials and has a squeaker deep inside of it (although, it was too hard for Murray to squeak himself). This ball has a great bounce to it, and it seems like it will last us a long time.

Action shot!

Pride Bites Pizza Toy - Retail Value $9.99

Murray, like me, isn't a fan of olives on his pizza, but he let it slide this time. This toy is made of Durabite Fleece, which makes it soft and strong enough to endure Murray's best attempts to rip it to shreds. Although we didn't test it, this toy floats and is machine washable.

He loves it!

Prized Pet Dental Support Chew, 7 oz - Retail Value $9.99

Prized Pet is a brand I recognize from previous Dapper Dog boxes. Murray tends to really like their treats, and he is even a fan of this minty find. It is supposed to help prevent tartar buildup and freshen your dog's breath. It even claims to improve blood flow for healthy gums.

The sticks have a soft texture and were easy to tear to give a pup of any size the right portion. Murray ended up eating half a stick, and I did notice I couldn't smell his breath after he ate it; definitely a win for him (but mostly me)!

Exclusively Dog New York Style Chewy Dog Treats, 7 oz - Retail Value $7.19 (On sale here for $5.60)

I love treats that you can just break apart and decide how much you want your dog to have. These square blocks are perforated to help you divvy out the right portion of treat for your pup. Murray loves this type of chewy treat, and it also really smells like pepperoni pizza! Exclusively Dog manufactures their products in the US using only natural food products not containing wheat, corn or soy.

Chicken is the first ingredient in this treat, and Murray loves it!

Verdict: Dapper Dog sent out a pretty good box for January. The bandana is adorable, and Murray can't get enough of the pizza-flavored treats! This box's value adds up to approximately $64.56, using sale and retail values, which isn't bad for a $35.99 box. The price of the bandana always inflates the overall value of this box, but Murray and I always enjoy the unboxing experience, always finding new healthy treats and fun toys for us to enjoy.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Hi Abby, thanks for another terrific review from you and Murray. The toys and treats seem to be the big winner in the box for the pups, but the humans have to really be into that bandana for this sub to be a good deal, I think. Unless your pup has a keen eye for fashion, I guess? I appreciated your comments along those lines in your verdict. Murray is super adorable. Thanks for sharing such great pics.
