Beauty Heroes January 2020 Review Feat. Ranavat

Beauty Heroes sent a “hero” product with two “sidekicks” this month from featured brand Ranavat. Michelle Ranavat, the founder of Ranavat, prides herself on not coming from the beauty industry or being a professional formulator. She is an engineer who loves the botanical ingredients found in traditional Indian formulas and wanted to share her passion with other skincare enthusiasts.

Ranavat Luminous Ceremony Cream Cleanser, 100 ml – Retail Value $42.00

My my my, what a beautiful metal tube of cleanser! This creamy dream has a soft rose scent to it and feels unbelievably luxurious and moisturizing while using. With sesame oil and other vegetable-derived ingredients, this cleanser melts off makeup while ayurvedic manjistha detoxifies while it cleans. After working up a milky lather on my face and rinsing, my skin felt clean without drying out and almost didn’t need extra moisturizer.

Ranavat Jasmine Tonique Hydrating Mist, 1.7 oz – Retail Value $40.00

Even though jasmine isn’t my favorite scent, this hydrating mist is so refreshing and spa-like. The scent certainly transports me to a more extravagant setting in my mind until I’m snapped back to my bathroom in Pittsburgh to continue my routine. The best part about this product though is that it has only one ingredient: organic steam-distilled jasmine petals.

Ranavat Radiant Rani Brightening Facial Serum, 20 ml – Retail Value $90.00

The final product in this enchanting trio is perhaps my favorite: the radiant rani brightening facial serum. 5% organic saffron, turmeric, licorice root, and manjistha along with a slew of other natural ingredients create a lightweight oil with a glorious rose scent that makes my skin glow upon absorption. My skin really loved drinking this up and using this serum after the first two products really made for a wonderful experience at home. My skin appeared brighter, felt softer, and looked healthy and hydrated.

Verdict: All of the featured products in this month’s Beauty Heroes from Ranavat really set a luxurious tone for my days as well as my evenings. From the packaging to the scents to the results of the products, this is truly quite a lovely line. Between the cleanser, tonic, and serum, the total value is $172 which is almost triple the cost of the box.

  1. This and Boxwalla look sooo good this month. I don’t “need” any of it, but I want it so badly!

    • Oops I think I mean Boxwalla for Feb

  2. I really enjoyed everything in this box, the cleanser is so gentle and wonderful, and I’m obsessed with the Jasmine toner! I initially thought the smell of the serum was going to be too strong for me, but I quickly became completely enamored of that too! Beauty Heroes rarely steers me wrong!

  3. @Liz Naturisimo Discovery Box just came out today! Will be gone soon for all that are interested.

    • I emailed her about that too! 😀 Did you notice that the price increased 2GBP and it looks like now they charge shipping 🙁 If this is the norm for the box, I wonder if they’ll sell out now. Fortunately, the cost of the box is only 5GBP away from the free shipping threshold, so people could add on a few samples to get that free shipping. I still got a box 🙂

      • Yes, Luna I noticed they also raised their price by a couple pounds but to be fair it looks like they have a full size powder in there and the scalp cleanser is quite large, 100ml. So I can understand the increase in price. I’ve been patiently waiting for this to come out but I think I’m going to pass as there’s a couple other boxes I want, I already have a spare powder and in addition I’m going to get the Beauty Heros box because I want Ranavat. Lord help me….

      • lol 🙂 Ya, there’s so many good boxes out there to choose from. 🙂

I also still think the Naturisimo box is worth it even with the price increase 🙂 It’s too bad they started charging for shipping, but that’s not always a deal breaker for me. I just wonder more if the added shipping might deter people from getting it now out of principle 😉

      • I added an Evolve moisturizer from the sale page…Christmas stocking stuffer…to get to free shipping.

      • They have a lot of great samples to choose from! 🙂

      • They sure do!

      • It seems to me that the price of the boxes has been varying since last month? I believe last month’s discovery box was 29.95 euros or pounds. I forget what currency they sell in. Too bad about the added shipping, too!

      • Oh that’s right. I forgot about those holiday boxes they came out with. For some reason I was thinking their regular monthly boxes were always 17.95 GBP, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it went either way a couple pounds depending on what’s in it. Either way, I think it’s still worth it… I was just more bummed about having to pay for shipping now. Maybe now I’ll discover even more products through their samples! 🙂

    • Thank you! I didn’t get a notice. Got a box!

  4. Is this an oil cleanser? Thanks

    • They say it’s a cream/balm hybrid formula. 🙂

      • Thanks Luna. I think it lathers slightly and is not necessarily a cleansing balm. I have 2 that I’m trying to get through right now. I have seen Ranavat for a long time and have always wanted to try them though they are quite expensive. It’s the jasmine toner that makes me want to subscribe. Ughhh decisions decisions.

      • I haven’t tried the toner yet, but dang does it smell beautiful! 🙂

      • I’ve used the cleanser a few times already and really like it. 🙂 It lathers a bit and is more creamy like, at least to me. Leaves my face super soft and feeling clean but not “too” clean if you know what I mean. lol

I have the toner and serum on the swap side here, I won’t get to the serum as I just bought a full size Vintner’s Daughter and really need to use that one up first. And I have a half dozen toners that are in waiting too.

      • Thanks Carey! I’m definitely getting this box!!!!

  5. When I look at this box I can’t help but think Laurel and Reed is just as good and it’s like $10 cheaper.

    • I agree.

    • LR is just about the same price with the added shipping cost though

      • 15% off from MSA on their reviews and on the L & R website as well takes off the shipping cost as well as a small amount of the box. That is how I get shipping off from them, lol.

      • Ooooo good to know!!

    • The prepaid plans bring the cost per box down significantly, plus they have different sub box models. 🙂

  6. When I saw that cleanser I just knew I had to re-subscribe. It’s so pretty! 😀 (plus I have a weakness for green beauty cleansers) The mist smells absolutely beautiful too… I want a perfume that smells like it. 🙂

  7. I really like this month’s box! My serum arrived broken and they sent me a replacement in a week. So happy with the products and their CS
