Beauty Brands 'Glitz & Glam' Box January 2020 Review

An information sheet was included, along with a coupon code for a free Fashion Accent Hair Color Service with the purchase of any Salon or Spa purchase. I don't have a Beauty Brands salon near me, so I can't take advantage of this.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in Moon Jelly, 0.07 oz – Estimated Value $7 (Buy the full-size 0.16 oz version for $16)

This lip gloss is a nice change from a regular gloss- it has a shimmery lavender pearlescent finish in a clear base with some added sparkle. It took some time getting used to the unique color compared to my everyday look, but I like reaching for it when I am feeling playful.

Ardell Glamour Eyes False Lashes in Romantic Style - Retail Value $3.50

I don't know if I would call the style of these fake lashes romantic so much as I would BOLD. The lashes are crisscrossed and dotted with drops of sparkly glitter.

Here I am wearing them. You definitely need a certain attitude before applying these bad boys, and I appreciated that the package came with a small packet of lash adhesive.

Buxom Full-On Lip Plumping Cream in White Russian, 0.05 oz - Estimated Value $7.50 (Buy the 0.14 oz version for $21)

Buxom is one lip plumping brand I can reliably use without fear of it causing a lip pimple or a painful tingle, and this item was no exception. White Russian is a nude-pink shade that really leans "my lips but better" on my fair skin, and there is only a mild tingle from the plumping effect.

Here is the Buxom swatched below the Anastasia.

Dashing Diva Press-On Nail Transfer Art in Buzz Worthy - Retail Value $5

These are fun, and they're nail art I can actually use with my gel polished acrylics. These are essentially temporary tattoos made small for your nails, and to get them to stick you apply and then seal with a topcoat. I was wearing a dark green polish when I got this box, but I think these would be really cute with a pale blue or pink shade.

Sexy Hair Fun Sexy Hair Bling It On Glitter Hairspray in 24 Karat Gold, 2 oz - Retail Value $15.95

The value of this glittery gold hair spray is the same as the entire cost of this box plus shipping so that in itself is nice. This is actually something I could see myself getting decent use out of- I am a very proud LSU alumna (whose colors are purple and gold), and Louisiana takes Mardi Gras very seriously. Whether I was cheering for my Tigers or celebrating Mardi Gras (which lasts for a solid 6 weeks, culminating with Fat Tuesday), I would not be out of place at all with this glittery hair spray. I definitely would need a strong shampoo and deep conditioner after using, though, because it takes a decent amount of hair spray to really get the gold to shine through.

tarte Lights Camera Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara, 0.13 oz - Estimated Value $9.75 (Buy the 0.16 oz version for $12)

I like the tarte brand as a whole, but I don't love this mascara the way many people do. This gives decent volume and separation of my lashes without clumping, but whenever I use it I know within a few hours it will have smeared onto the skin under my eyes.

Verdict: I enjoy these Beauty Brands Discovery Boxes- they give a good value for the price, even though I know I can't take advantage of whatever coupon is included in the box. This box was no exception, and I like that the lashes definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone while still being fun. Value-wise, I calculated a value of $48.70 for everything. I have certainly seen higher values from this brand, but since you know everything in it before you order it you should have a good idea of if this box is personally worth it to you.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yep! It is still in stock!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $15.93 ($9.98 + $5.95 shipping) and I calculated a value of $48.70. That means you are paying approximately the following for each item:

  • Anastasia Beverly Hills: $2.29
  • Ardell: $1.14
  • Buxom: $2.45
  • Dashing Diva: $1.63
  • Sexy Hair: $5.22
  • tarte: $3.19

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Hey, Jessica ~ Did you see that Sephora has a Cicapair collection? 🙂

Looks good, but that’s nowhere near the $80 promised value.
