Naturisimo The Cult Box Review – December 2019

Naturisimo is a UK-based online retailer that focuses on bringing you the best in clean beauty and lifestyle products. Every month or so they release a new themed discovery box as a one-time purchase, and they sell out fast. For the holiday season, they released a line of limited-edition curated boxes. Each box is ready for gifting, and for every box purchased, £5 will be donated to the Trussell Trust, which supports food banks in the UK.

This is a review of the Naturisimo Cult Box, which is still available for purchase.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Naturisimo The Cult Holiday Box Review

Here is the info sheet for the items included.

I love that our info sheet came on paper embedded with herb seeds that we can plant and grow.

Beauty Chef Glow Inner Beauty Powder, 150 g - Retail Value $70

I usually stay away from supplement powders thanks to my temperamental tastebuds, and that is especially true when the powder is designed to be mixed with only water (what is going to mask the bad taste?). But when a small jar of powder retails for $70, you buck up and see if miracles are inside. According to the description, this powder has everything: probiotics, prebiotics, vitamin C, zinc, and antioxidant-rich superfoods. This is designed to support gut health and increase your body's collagen synthesis for improved skin, hair, and nails. That is all good and well, but if it tastes bad I'm not going to drink it. This absorbed really well into plain water (I recommend using cold water!) with no chunks, and it actually doesn't taste terrible. It is lightly sweetened with stevia, and while this will never be a flavor I crave I could easily drink the 200 milliliters of water you mix one teaspoon into. Supplements like these usually take at least a full month before you see results, and at $70 for a one month's supply, this is definitely something I would classify as a beauty splurge.

BYBI Beauty Booster Bakuchiol Oil & Olive Squalane, 15 ml - Retail Value $17

The more I try from BYBI, the more I fall in love with the brand. Along with being a clean and cruelty-free brand, I really love their colorful packaging and simple ingredients. This oil has just two ingredients- it is 99% olive-based squalane (some squalane can come from sharks) and 1% bakuchiol, which is a retinol alternative that is pregnancy safe (though of course, always check with your doctor). Retinol can be a very drying ingredient since it is clinically proven to increase your skin's cell turnover, but bakuchiol is a bit more gentle. Combined with the squalane, a nourishing oil my skin loves, this is actually a very hydrating booster that can be added to serums or moisturizers you already use.

RMS Beauty Luminizer in Champagne Rose, 0.17 oz - Full-Size! Retail Value $38

RMS Beauty is a brand that I definitely consider to be prestige, and I rarely see full-size products from the brand in subscription boxes (even curated one-time purchase boxes like this one). This is an oil-based highlighter designed to give a natural, lit-from-within glow with a dewy finish. This product is the epitome of "no-makeup makeup," and it really did look natural when dabbed onto the high points of my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, and my cupids bow. The shade champagne rose gives off just the slightest rose iridescence, and I love that this jar packaging is recyclable.

Kosas Weightless Lip Color in Rosewater, 0.14 oz - Full-Size! Retail Value $28

I love Kosas, and I would love to see the brand featured more in the subscription box world. Rosewater is a cool-toned pink nude lipstick with a satin finish, and this is a great my-lip-color-but-better lipstick shade. Plus, it is super comfortable to wear. Ingredients include jojoba oil, rosehip seed oil, and mango seed butter, and this lipstick actually feels nourishing on my lips while providing a lovely color.

Here I am wearing the luminizer and lipstick.

The Verdict: This holiday box was another home run for me- I can see why these are all iconic clean-beauty products. Honestly, trying out the fancy Beauty Chef powder excites me because it comes with such a bougie price tag, and the other three products in this box are truly excellent. This single-purchase box is on the pricier end, but it is clear that Naturisimo took great care in both the curation and presentation of this box. This would be a great gift for the clean beauty lover in your life (or honestly just a beauty lover in general), and it comes perfect for gifting straight out of the outer packaging thanks to the gorgeous and sturdy box wrapped with a ribbon. Each purchase of one of these holiday boxes donates £5 to a local UK charity, the Trussell Trust, which is the icing on the cake for me. Value-wise, this has a total value of $153, which is about $60 over the cost of the box and spot on with the promised value of £115.

To Wrap Up:

Can you get this box if you order today? Yes, this box is still available for purchase!

Value Breakdown: This box cost $92.05 with free international shipping, which means you're paying approximately the following per item:

  • The Beauty Chef: $42.11
  • BYBI Beauty: $10.23
  • RMS Beauty: $22.86
  • Kosas: $16.85

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Their holiday kits were so tempting, Kosas makes amazing products. The tinted oil is a favorite of mine. You’ll have to update if the collagen makes a difference.
