Ecocentric Mom November 2019 Review

It looks like our box has changed a bit! I love the simple style which is fitting for an eco-friendly box. This card from the CEO notes that they partnered with EcoEnclose to produce this 100% recycled/95% post-consumer content box to ship our goodies in. They are also fully recyclable and biodegradable! They also included a link to this page where you can learn more about the items in your box and an email for us to provide any feedback about them which I thought was nice!

Llama Llama Gives Thanks by Anna Dewdney – Retail Value $5.99 (found here for $5.79)

First up we have a great holiday book sure to excite any child familiar with the Llama Llama series! We love these books and we actually don’t own this one, so the kids and I were all excited to receive it and read it together! This was a great start to our box this month.

Begin Again Shutterbug Camera – Retail Value $12.00

This next item is a very simple toy from a brand that we enjoy! They have an eco-friendly mission of sustainably harvested rubberwood and water-based stains. It comes in a little storage box for travel, although I do wish it had a lid to contain the pieces a bit better!

The camera itself is super simple and has a hole to look through, but then it also has these lenses that stack and can attach to the front. This is a great fine motor activity and my kids were all excited by this toy which I’m sure will lead to some creative play, especially once I suggest they take it on a safari (a favorite game of theirs!).

My youngest took to it right away and actually wanted to put everything back into the box where it belonged since there are holes that the lens pieces fit into!

Shower Steamer by Sincerely Different in Eucalyptus – Retail Value $6.00

Now, onto the mama goodies! First up we have this shower steamer which I was pretty excited about because this is something I could definitely use this time of year! This fizzed well in the shower and while at first I was hit with the eucalyptus scent, I was disappointed to find that it didn’t last, nor did it fill my shower with the scent as I had hoped. Oh well! It was worth a try and it’s a great concept!

Whipped Hand Cream by Sincerely Different in Peppermint, 2 oz. – Retail Value $11.00 (also found here)

This next item is from the same brand as our shower steamer, which is a mom-owned business. This whipped hand cream is super thick and smells like a candy cane with a subtle peppermint scent. It smells delicious! It takes a little bit of time to absorb, but it has more of a powdery finish which I like. This vegan formula leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth and smelling ready for the holidays! Since it is pretty thick, I think I’ll stick to using this at night and letting it work its magic while I sleep!

Calm by Little Luminary – Retail Value $14.99

This last item is for both mama and baby. It is made with calendula and can be used to cleanse and soothe baby’s delicate skin and diaper area. It says it can also be used for mom parts as well to freshen up and hydrate. This formula has no sulfates, parabens, or phthalates and is cruelty-free and pregnancy-safe. I think I’ll stick to using this for baby, but it’s nice to have an option around the house that seems safe for almost anyone to use as needed!

Verdict: I was MUCH happier with this month’s Ecocentric Mom box than last month‘s! This felt more like their traditional boxes with a good mix of items for baby and pampering items for mom. They stuck to small businesses for the pampering items and an eco-friendly brand for our toy, which is much more on-brand for this box. The quality of the items was much better this month and overall, the box was a pretty good fit for me as a mom! I hope that they continue to deliver items like this next month! Overall, the total value came to $49.98 which isn’t bad for a $38.99 + free shipping box.
