Pura Vida Jewelry Club "The Winter Light Set" November 2019 Review

One thing I enjoy about Pura Vida is that they always send some nice stickers with their jewelry. The designs are really fun and they always come packaged inside this foldout card that shares their story and details how they give back. They create over 200 full-time jobs for artisans worldwide!

Your jewelry will arrive in this nice sturdy box with a magnetic closure that would be perfect for gifting. Inside is some fun tropical tissue paper that makes for such a nice presentation! The card on top of our tissue paper welcomes us to the club and reminds us how our exclusive jewelry is only available to club members. This month we also received this beautiful bonus sticker!

Just a note: This card states that the value will be up to $50, while their website lists it as being up to $65. This is a little confusing, and also could be misleading since the higher value is listed on their website, but after a quick (and easy) chat with customer service they confirmed that the $65 value is correct.

Your jewelry comes in little dustbags each month and normally we receive two, but this month since we received four rings, they all came in one bag together. These are a bit different than the ones that come in their bracelet club pack. These are a little smoother and sleeker in my opinion.

Plain Silver Ring

Our first ring from this stackable set is a super simple silver ring that actually has a flat profile which is difficult to see here. It is skinny and had a pretty wide opening on one side and while you would think it would be adjustable, this one is pretty sturdy and wouldn't budge for me. This ring is pretty plain on its own, but the basic style means it pairs easily with the rest of our rings.

I usually wear a size 7 and this one fit my ring finger easily.

Open Rhinestone Ring

This open ring features two tiny rhinestones on either side set in a little triangle point. I love the simplicity of this one with just a bit of sparkle. Again, its simple design makes it ideal for pairing and stacking!

This one fits a little larger than the first and I wore it on my middle finger.

Genuine Turquoise Stone Ring

This ring fit much like the first and since I love turquoise, this one suits my style very well. I love the tiny stones and the simple band. This one could easily be worn on its own or stacked with other rings for more of a statement!

I love the simple five stones set in this silver band!

Genuine Turquoise and Rhinestone Ring

This last ring is the most dramatic of the bunch and even this one is still fairly simple with a larger genuine turquoise stone set on top of (or underneath) of a tiny rhinestone. This one feels very pretty and dainty on with the focus on that turquoise stone, but a little bit of sparkle from the rhinestone.

Here it is on both ways. I think this is another ring that works well by itself. This one fits a bit larger than my typical size as well so I felt more comfortable wearing it on my middle finger.

Here they are stacked. I'm sure a lot of people would have success wearing these as midi rings, but my knuckles are large and I've never really enjoyed the feeling of rings sitting above them! None of these actually fit me as midi rings either.

I wore these rings nonstop for about 24 hours so that I could play around with them and see how I wanted to stack them and unfortunately, the second day I was wearing them, I noticed that a turquoise stone had popped out of this one! It actually popped out into my hand and I had plans to fix it, but it was so tiny and I was not at home so I'm afraid I won't be able to fix it now! While I was pretty disappointed that my favorite ring in the set was pretty much done for, I am really happy with my customer service experience.

I used the chat option and they just asked for a photo for proof and then they immediately offered me $20 to order a new ring of my choice from their website. They asked me to choose right then and there so they could process it immediately and they even covered the shipping! So for a $19.95 subscription with only one of four pieces damaged, they more than covered the cost of my subscription with a new product of my choice. That's a pretty great response if you ask me!

After wearing them all day I decided this was how I liked them stacked best. Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be taking the broken ring out of the rotation, but that's the finger I wear my wedding ring on anyway, so I guess it'll do!

The Verdict: I have mixed feelings about this month's Pura Vida Jewelry Club set. On one hand (pun intended?), it seems kind of boring to send four rings, but the more I played around with them, the more I began to love this unconventional idea. Since there were four rings, there were so many options and a lot of flexibility in the way you could wear them. These are fun to style alone or together, and I'm sure those who wear midi rings will find the possibilities even more endless. I'm totally bummed about the broken ring, but the response from customer service was excellent and more than I could have hoped for. I still think the quality of the rings is still pretty good and since the stone fell out so soon after receiving them, I think it was just never set properly within the ring. Overall, I think that the value was there for this $19.95 box and the idea of stackable rings was unique!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

My turquoise ring also had stones come out. My only issue with PV jewelry is the quality. Luckily, they’ve always given me replacements when the jewelry broke, so at least their customer service makes up for the flimsy jewelry.

Thank you for mentioning that. I love the look of this months but with possible quality issues I’ll just save my money. I’ve never had an issue with their regular bracelets though.

Oh no! That stinks! I’ve never really had an issue with quality before now, but I agree – customer service is great!
