PinkSeoul Plus Box September/October 2019 Review

Prior to purchasing a subscription, PinkSeoul will ask you several customization questions. Some products are more appropriate/recommended for a particular skin type, so be sure to figure out your skin type.

Here is the info sheet detailing the products included in this box.

G9 Skin Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Essence, 51 g - Full-Size! Retail Value $30

I love rose and I love hydrogels, but this essence is a lightweight consistency that absorbs into my skin quickly so I am not sure the word hydrogel is accurate. That being said, I have been using this every morning after toning, and I do feel like it helps my skin to retain moisture- especially as the seasons change and it gets colder!

G9 Skin AC Solution Calamine Gel Spot Patch, 20 g - Full-Size! Retail Value $15

I am very wary of peel-off skincare products, but this spot patch is actually really neat. It is made with soothing calamine, and it is a thick gel that you apply to active, irritated pimples. The gel dries to a rubber finish that both protects the pimple under it while soothing it, and the patch is then peeled off whenever you're ready (and it's dry, which happens in about 10 minutes). This peels off with ease (and does not hurt), and it is perfect for when I am dealing with my monthly cystic acne breakout.

G9 Skin Light Serum in Azulene and Zinc, 50 ml - Full-Size! Retail Value $28

Okay, how cute is this lightbulb serum? The creativity in the packaging of K-Beauty products never ceases to delight me. This serum has azulene, which is a chamomile extract that has both antioxidant and skin-soothing properties, and it also has zinc, which helps to heal skin and prevent acne by aiding your skin's production of oil. This was lightweight and left a very slight tacky finish, which was quickly remedied by following with my moisturizer of the day.

Berrisom Face Wrapping Peel Off Mask in Gold, 50 ml - Full-Size! Retail Value $15

Peel off masks that adhere strongly to your skin can actually damage your skin and make your pores bigger, so I usually stay away. I tested this on my hand before moving to my face, and while I appreciated the shiny gold finish this was much too strong for me to want to use on my face- I am all about the soothing and nourishing skincare ingredients if you couldn't tell!

Mediheal N.M.F. Midnight Capping Pack - Retail Value $3

Mediheal is one of the most well-received sheet mask brands in Korea (based on the research and what I have seen, at least), and this is the first time I have seen their sleeping mask. I appreciate the change from a standard sheet mask and thought this was lightweight. It reminds me of the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask, so for me, I used it as a finishing layer after all of my other hydrating lotions and potions.

Berrisom Cocktail Recipe Mask in Mojito - Retail Value $1.99

This mask is fragranced to smell like mojito cocktails, but the scent faded quickly. I like wearing my face masks for longer than the 15 or so recommended minutes, and I thought this dried out a bit quickly for that purpose.

Holika Holika Milky Bun Puff - Retail Value $8

Based on the name I thought this would be one of those things you use when putting your hair up in a bun to give it shape, but nope. This is a latex-free sponge that can be used to apply makeup, but it is much firmer than the standard beautyblender. I haven't quite decided how to use it, to be honest- does anyone have suggestions?

The Verdict: I really enjoyed this Plus box from PinkSeoul. They have a tendency to feature multiple products from one brand, and I had tried G9 skin before and really liked the products, so I had fun trying out all of the ones in this box. The peel-off mask and bun puff are misses for me, but I am not bothered too much by that because the serum and essence are regular fixtures in my current morning routine. Value-wise, this has a total value of $100.99, which is double the cost of the box.
