Lip Monthly November 2019 Review

This card welcoming us to our November bag is so cute! It looks like this month we received a “monthly mix-up” which includes 3 lip products and 1 non-lip product.

Each month, Lip Monthly sends their products in a little soft fabric makeup bag which is just a bit bigger than an iPhone plus (although not quite big enough to fit one inside). I love this month’s design! It’s so cute and fitting for the month and the colors are great!

Peony Cosmetics Butterfly Butter Lip Scrub – Retail Value $16.00

Our first item is a lip scrub from a brand I have never heard of. I always enjoy a good lip scrub, especially now that we are entering the dry winter weather my lips hate, and this one worked pretty well. It comes out really thick but glides on to form a soft, oily layer with just a bit of grit to it. They describe it as a salve, which makes perfect sense given the texture. It really absorbs into my lips and leaves them feeling soft and smooth when it’s removed. This vegan formula is cruelty- and paraben-free and made with pink butterfly bush, noni, and hibiscus along with shea butter and several oils. It smells really good too, like a light floral berry scent.

Trifle Cosmetics Jelly Juice Tinted Lip Glow in Redcurrant – Retail Value $12.00

This is our second tiny tube this month and I have to say I love the cute size! This is my favorite product this month since it is so smooth and hydrating and leaves my lips with just a shiny berry tint. It smells really good (a subtle berry scent) and this color is great! This lippie is made from shea butter and a mix of oils in addition to cranberry and raspberry extracts and vitamin E. It is vegan, hypoallergenic, and formulated without parabens, phthalates, or gluten. I love how silky smooth my lips feel after applying this and the sheer tint is flattering no matter what shape my lips are in.

Here it is on. It’s a very subtle tint with a good bit of hydration!

Lord&Berry 20100 Matte Lipstick in Sensuel – Retail Value $20.00

I enjoy Lord&Berry lip products since the shades are usually pretty flattering to me so I was happy to see this lipstick. This one is like a nice pink berry color with a very subtle hint of an orange/coral tone when I apply it. I think it’s very pretty and it applies very smoothly. The matte color is not drying at all and it lasted a few hours. I was pretty happy with this one!

Here it is on. It’s a little more orange in person, but not in an unflattering way. This one is also pretty buildable too if you’re looking for a darker color!

I liked adding the Jelly Juice over top of it to really bring it to life!

Doucce Freematic Eyeshadow in Kinsley – Retail Value $10.00

Our non-lip product this month is a single eyeshadow pan from Doucce, a brand most subscription addicts should be familiar with. I do actually have two separate palettes that I can add this pan to, but this color was not really one that I was overly excited about at first. The shade looked more like a bronzer to me and a bit too orange, but I was surprised to find it was much more neutral on my lids. I think this will be a great one for those “no makeup” look days!

Here I am wearing the eyeshadow. I’m sure I could have gotten a deeper color, but I went for a basic application here covering the entire lid. It’s a nice fall shade!

Swatched from top to bottom we have the Trifle Cosmetics, Lord&Berry, and Doucce.

Verdict: I really liked the unique selections from Lip Monthly this month! I can always use another lip scrub, the Jelly Juice is fantastic and the Lord&Berry lipstick is a great color that I think I will reach for often. I even ended up liking the eyeshadow more than I thought I would, so all in all, I was happy with this month’s goodies! This was a great mix of items and the retail value of $58 is awesome for a $12.95/ month subscription!

  1. I see the regular lip monthly subscription but do y’all get or know anything about the lip monthly plus subscription? I just signed up for the plus version and now am curious to find spoilers etc for December. Guess I did this a bit backwards but I did enjoy a couple posts of the regular subscription.
I have never been into lip color no matter a lipstick, balm, gloss, none of it have I used or been interested in. Now I am 🤦😁. I know lips need care and love as does the rest of our face so I like the chance to get all the items I will probably need to start showing my lips so love. It seems like an inexpensive and quick way to build my collection so I figured why not. Specially getting it with an even lower price with the coupon from yalls site.

Thanks so much for posting this info it is so very much

    • what did you get in the lip plus monthly bag for December? I had just ordered it myself then thought that I should also order the normal lip monthly bag for $5 too in case its different products

    • I signed up for 5.00 for my first bag. Two weeks went by and still had no tracking. Sent them an E-mail and 5 days later they answered too be fair two of those days were the weekend. During this time, before they answered my Email my bag was shipped.
I received the bag today, but not December’s bag. There was a bronzer, a lipstick, lipgloss, eye pencil, lip stain.
The products were okay, not real high end but decent.
I actually love lip products, the bag is well worth it, yet just concerned about the customer service and slow shipping 🙁

  2. Wearing the Jelly Juice over the Lord & Berry is very pretty!

I got the same products, but in different colors, and I felt this was my favorite bag from Lip Monthly in a while. Unfortunately, my Lord & Berry product broke (the tip of the lipstick) off the first time I tried it. It was a little warm, and I think it melted a little and made it break. I’m so sad. Mine was a beautiful pink called “Velvet Rose.” I got the eyeshadow in a shimmer color, which is more up my alley than a matte. I’m very pleased with the lip butter scrub.
