28 Monthly Subscription Boxes You Can Try for $10 or Less

Subscription Boxes for $10 Or Less

The subscription lifestyle isn’t necessarily expensive — in fact, many services can save you money over time. Some clothing subscription boxes offer discounts of 40% or more off of retail; many meal kits charge less for their ingredients than what you’d pay at the grocery store. You’re also saving time and avoiding stress. That’s not even addressing the other reasons to buy a subscription box: Each delivery provides an exciting break from your day-to-day, and you’ll find dozens of interesting products that you won’t be able to live without.

Okay, to be clear, we could write dozens of pages of reasons to try subscription boxes, but there’s a better way to make our case: For less than $10, you can try many of them yourself. We’ve assembled a list of the best services offering cheap subscription boxes, categorized to make your journey a little easier.

With all of that said, let’s dive in. If you have an Alexander Hamilton in your pocket, you can afford any of the boxes below.

1. Rocksbox

Regular Cost: $21 per month

COUPON: Use code MSAFREE15 to one month free + $15 extra credit for the shop.

About the Box: Rocksbox is a monthly subscription box for jewelry rental. We love the simplicity: After completing a brief quiz, you’ll receive 3 pieces of hand-selected jewelry in your first box. Wear them as long as you like, and then return them in a prepaid shipping envelope to receive a new set. If you find something you love, you can purchase it from Rocksbox at a discounted rate

The service is inexpensive at $21 per month, and with the coupon code above, you’ll get your first month for free. Subscribers also receive a $21 monthly credit; you can use that credit towards any purchases (however, the credit does not rollover).

We love personal styling subscriptions, and Nadine West offers one of the least expensive options available. That doesn’t mean that their clothes are cheap — you’ll find a variety of high-quality products from well-known brands in each delivery. The company’s stylists go to great lengths to choose appropriate outfits for every subscriber, so if you’re looking for ways to refresh your style, this 10-dollar monthly subscription box is the best way to experiment.

  1. Filter Easy is now called Second Nature.

    • is a SCAM!!.Beware! They ask for credit card and security code. I’m home with my physical card but after they used this link to phish they were using my debit card ordering food within an hour. I ordered off this affiliate from home. Within two hours Bank of America is contacting me regarding fraudulent activity. They took my debit card and made several online purchases before finally being declined. It says Kennesaw, GA on BofA but better business bureau says Knoxville. Suspiciously BofA says they don’t have a phone number either. I only looked at one section on the site – but if you look through you will see each page is just a dupe. I’ve used the affiliates on this blog for a couple of years! I cannot believe you didn’t vet this advertiser! Thanks for leading me into a scam that has forced me to stay up for two hours until after 1 am filing fraud claims. Take them off your blog immediately.

      • I’ve ordered from them a couple of times before and never had any problems.

I’m sorry you had to deal with that though!

  2. Ipsy is no longer $10/month. 🙂

  3. #13 Degusta or shopped shipping to the US a while ago.

  4. Birchbox is no longer $10 each month.
A few months ago they raised their subscription prices to $15 monthly (or $13 per month for annual subscribers). This was my very first subscription box, but after 4 years I decided to cancel. About 3 years ago they significantly changed their point system, which was disappointing but something I could live with. However, with so many ways to discover new products today, it doesn’t make sense to pay more for a service that is essentially the same quality it has been for years. Birchbox is a great way to explore and try new and different beauty, hair, and skin care products. Unfortunately, I simply can’t afford it anymore. Thank you!

  5. Idk if anyone has mentioned this, but just a head’s up that Stickii Club is now $11 a month. 😀

  6. Also, Bulu box is $32 for the cheapest and first month. A lot of these on the list are significantly over $10

    • The new Bulu subscription – Burn Blend Box – is $32.99 but you can get the Original or Weight Loss Box for $10 per month. Thanks!

  7. Globe In’s CHEAPEST box is $40 for the first month. Every month following for the cheapest is $50 a month, not $10. Very far off.

    • Hi Victoria! The GlobeIn Premium Box is $40 but their Essential subscription is $10. Hope that helps!

      • But they ended the Essential sub that they had……. @MSA

      • The essentials ended in July, Ipsy is $12, Birchbox is $15. The loot boxes aren’t worth listing since people are still waiting for orders from last year.

This list feels outdated to me.

      • Exactly. Liz you need to take this post down and redo it correctly. Many of these boxes are either no longer around or have raised their prices. This feels like a slightly lazy filler post.

    • A lot of the luxe boxes have smaller and cheaper versions now, well..have for awhile. You should look thru them and get reacquainted with the boxes, something new is going on every day! I can look thru the boxes everyday, and lose hours looking…and ALWAYS find several things new to me.

  8. I signed up for the introductory box for $4.95 Naturebox and was charged $24 for the first box. I had to email them and am waiting a response. I am not at all happy about this.

    • Pretty sure that 4.95 promo has been over for a long time. This list is extremely inaccurate.

  9. When I click on the mini dog box, it shows that it is $12.99/month not $9.99. Why is that?!

    • Looks like they’ve increased their prices! Thanks for letting us know, we’ve removed them from this list!

  10. Field to cup, as far as I could tell, doesn’t offer a box cheaper than $14.97 now… there is no offer for the $6.97 box when I followed the link from this page 😕

  11. I tried the mightyfix deal but instead of receiving a box plus 2 sheets of bee’s wrap paper my box was just bee’s wrap paper. Of all the things I would have like to try this would have been the least.

    • I have gotten the MightyFix for about a year and have gotten some really neat stuff. I’ve received bamboo eating utensils, reusable sandwich bag, dish rags, dryer balls, and a whole lot more. You should really give it a chance.

  12. GlobeIn Artesian charges $3 shipping after the first month. So, it’s more like $13 a month.

  13. Just wanting to know if anyone has ordered the Jacked Pack and what their opinions are on it. Want to order it but I wanna know if its a good purchase. Opinions?

    • I ordered it, it came with a lot of supplements, pre-workout stuff, whey samples etc. It’s a great box if you are in a pretty hard core workout regimen and trying new things. I don’t think I will keep it because it’s a little over the top for where I am personally with my fitness. Bulu Box fits my needs better at this time.

    • Yes a lot of great products just redundant. A lot of the same products over and over.

  14. Hello! Thank you so very much for this awesome list!!!

I just ordered a box from Mini Monthly Mystery Box for Dogs and they are now offering a box for our feline furbabies!!! It’s about time. (No offense pups). It’s advertised for $12.99.

    • Is there a link for that? I’m not having any luck coming up with it!

  15. Sadly mygreenfills is 5 bucks not 1 for the first shipment 🙁
Understandable but not the same 😉
Also, one of your reviews state the boxes are 20ish while on their site the same box is actually nearly 50!
Always like looking at these lists but often they come across too click bait and somewhat misleading as well 🙁

    • Thanks for letting us know! Sometimes these brands change their deals (and their pricing) without letting us know, but we do try to make sure this list is updated every week at a minimum.

  16. You said this was updated recently, but I have gotten a Target Beauty Box every month for the last year and they are always different, it’s not a box every other month anymore, it’s every month 🙂

  17. will let you get your first pair of shoes for only 9.99, with shipping it comes to about 12-15. You sign up for their vip membership and to u can cancel as soon as you get your s hoes if you want. Also if you refer someone and they order you get a $20 credit! If you dont cancel you get 2 pairs of shoes for 39.95 they also do a style quiz as well

  18. ive used lootcrate for at least a year now. Even though they say they only do t-shirts. I’ve gotten extras with a shirt. Like purses, socks, scarfs, key chains. Sometimes they even send me stuff twice a month.

  19. I’ve tried a lot of these boxes and honestly a lot just feel like cheap samples. The ones that stand out to me in terms of quality product are the ones that make their own product like Naturebox and Honest Co, or Globein where the products are handmade by craftspeople in developing countries.

  20. There is also Glossybox and Boxy Charm. Both are $21 a month. Glossybox does 4-5 deluxe size samples and some full sized. Boxy Charm does 4-5 usually all full sized products. Both do hair care, skin care, make up, nail polish etc. I use them both as well as Ipsy 😉

    • Are there any free boxes that don’t make you put in your card number???

      • No they all make you put in a card number. They only give out free boxes in the hopes that you’ll keep buying more

      • PinchMe is free…and does not require a credit card. All you do is complete a survey. The trick is that they only post their samples on Tuesdays @ noon, so you have to be quick or you’ll miss out.

      • I’ve been doing PinchMe for 2 months now and it’s been almost the same items…. hoping I never see a package of ZZzzquil again!!! Lol.

      • Me too… I have stock in that stuff. Same samples last like 3 x

      • I could use some of that stuff!! Lol

      • So it has to br done on tues

      • After signing up for Pinch Me you will gas a massive amount of SPAM in your emails. I cancelled and it’s been 2 yearsand am still getting this spam and I report each one.

      • And spam text messages. And spam phkne calls… It’s never bleeping ending!

    • I have been getting Allure for about 6mos. and I really like them. They send me some good products and they tell you where you can get the product, if you want. But I like getting it because I don’t get to go to the malls or the beauty places.

  21. Check out this newcomer – Pretty cheap (there’s a coupon code now in which you can grandfather your price in for life).

@Liz – thanks for compiling. Great work!

  22. How fun! Thank you for compiling and sharing these lists!

  23. Other than the initial shipping fee, are the promotions for “free” boxes really free with no strings attached? Or if i choose to not continue my subscription will i be charged for anything??

    • You may/ may not have heard of these, but I will list a few i’ve participated in, so I know they’re legit AND 100% free.. I believe you fill out surveys for each one, and that’s how they determine qualification.
Pinche Me is free if you qualify for the samples. They have a release date on their website for each month.
Influenster is a free box as well, very interactive with feedback and tasks. They are random themes, and times so you have to lookout for their emails. Your participation matters to them.
Lastly there is Buzz Agent. They will shoot you an email from time to time.

    • Most, if not all of the subscription boxes that MSA lists/review, have you input your credit card information. They then auto-charge that card each month, if the account is not paused or cancelled before the next charge date.

  24. I feel like the Sephora Play bag should be on here too! It’s only 10$, I’ve only gotten one month but so far I am very pleased!

    • I absolutely agree with this. It’s the best beauty box available in the $10 category!

    • I don’t know if it was listed back in February, but it’s on this list now 👍🏻🙂

    • I will have to agree with you. I have Birch Box, Ipsy Sephora Play and Allure a little to many I know😜 I will have to say that my Sephora Play and Allure are the best ones so far I was with Birch box for over a year and I cancled the subscription
Last month samples were getting pretty small and you keep getting the same thing. The next one to go I feel will be Ipsy same thing the longer you are with them the smaller the items get. But Sephora Play and Allure send you full size samples and the brands are really good❤️

      • Is it like Ipsy where you get a new bag each month? I feel that my room is now filled with nothing but these darn Ipsy bags. Lol. I wish Ipsy had an option that if you didn’t want the bag that you got another makeup/ beauty item. I’ve been getting Ipsy since I think August and the bag each month is getting tedious

      • Donate your unwanted Ipsy bags! I know lots of people who donate theirs for various uses! Many teachersake care packages for their female students that have feminine products in them (tampons, pads, sanitary wipes, perfume sample, etc) for girls who get in a pinch & start their period unexpectedly at school…they usually keep them in a location where the girl can get one discreetly & take it to the restroom with her (much better than trying to conceal a bulky pad)…and lots of ladies I know either donate their bags to women’s shelters or homeless shelters & those in the position to do so will also fill them with small hygiene items (shampoo, soap, deodorant, chapstick, etc,) and donate them to various places. I also know crafty people who have made purses from their bags or sewn them together & made a huge makeup case with all the different fancy zippers…many others also give them as gifts to friends & family or young girls birthdays throughout the year – or they use them to organize their own items & keep hair accessories in them, or different bags for different items (lipsticks, glosses, brushes, blushes, etc.) or use in their purse or gym bag to keep things organized & some who store little toys in them like their children’s small LEGO sets, Shopkins, Barbie accessories, etc. the possibilities are endless!

      • wow! you stole my thought. thats exactly what i was thinking, we dont need a new bag every freaking month, thats 12 bags a year & thats a too many for me, i gave like 6 bags to my mom & sister, i still have like 5 bags. I am minimalist plus biotech engineer. i even reuse plastic & paper bags as many times as i can before using it as trash bag!.

cancelling my ipsy for at least a year, i hope i never go back to ipsy. too many unwanted products, including unwanted year i may switch to play by sephora though, just couple boxes, then 1 allure, and couple boxy charm. that should be enough till 2020. lol!
I am stocked for this year.

      • I use the makeup bags to organize my craft and art pencils/pens etc in. I also give gifts “wrapped” in one of the bags with a bow tied around it. There are so many great uses for those bags.

  25. The GlobeIn Club charged me over $100 not $10 and will not let me void the purchase. They say they are not open but that is something you should be able to do from their website.

    • Go to your bank dispute the order explain why

    • Hi Rebecca! Apologies for the delayed response! If your billing issue hasn’t been resolved, please reach out to [email protected].

  26. It doesn’t seem like the Rocksbox link is working. It just directs you to their website and after I filled everything out to subscribe, it said I would be charged $19 when my first box shipped.. .Is there a code for the first box free?

    • The first box free deal should show up as coupon code mysubaddictxoxo automatically in your cart. Their checkout page notes that they do verify your credit card with a pending charge when you place your order. Hope that helps!

  27. One of my favorite subscription boxes is Barkbox. They are a little more expensive ($20/mo. with a 12-month subscription), but worth every penny. The toys and treats they send are themed per month, and are really high quality. One of my dogs loves to rip apart toys; these typically take 4-6 months for him to destroy. The treats they send are also high quality — usually grain free.

    • I LOVE BarkBox! I have two dogs who can chew up toys in a minutes so I was skeptical. The first box I got was the introductory box and as predicted, the toys didn’t last long. But then I found out they have a free upgrade to the “heavy chewers” box and the next 2 boxes had awesome toys that are still being played with 2 months later. Can’t wait to get another one this month.

      • I was getting the Barkbox every month they are ultimately the best . My Max is a Pit he turned 18 months. He tore up 80% Of his toys, but Barkbox has a deal where you take a picture of the tore up toy and you earn points to get a new one, if they don’t like a food item they will send you another. One per month. Look into it on there app.
Unfortunately my Max had passed on, he was hit buy a car. I’m still 😢, he is my world. I had canceled my subscription, but this next box is still gonna be delivered. Every month he knew the box would come and be super excited. I have pictures of him with his boxes. I miss him so much.

      • I’m sorry for your loss of Max. Pits are great dogs and the best family members too! Thank you for your review, as I’ve often wondered if it’s worth the $20 price to have the toys shredded in 10 seconds, so hearing they have a box for large more aggressive players is fantastic. Thanks for your review and I hope you get your next dog from a rescue or the shelter. Lots of really great dogs there!

      • In addition to their regular box, Barkbox also has a heavy chewers box, a super chewers box and a destructors box. GREAT SUPER AWESOME!!!

      • Sounds like you have alot of love to give….get another dog to share your love and time with. I’m sorry about your baby

      • Sorry for your loss😓

    • I agree Barkbox is a great subscription for medium to large dogs- unfortunately I have a Pom that’s 10lbs and the items have been too big for her. I have tried 4 months so far and think I’ll put it on hold for a while until they offer a version more designed for a toy breed.

    • My doggy LOVES Barkbox!! It is seriously the cutest and she knows when it comes lol she gets so excited and always loves every product they send. I really like that the treats are good for her and the toys are always so fun and unique. Definitely worth the $20 each month 🙂 Happy fur baby, happy life 😉

    • I subscribe to BarkBox and my dogs love it. I have six pitbulls and normally they tear up everything. I like BarkBox because you choose size appropriate toys and treats catered to your dogs needs.

      • Thank you for this input. I have 4 dogs and each ons is a different size and type (chiweenie, cocker spaniel, shepweiler (the baby lol) and a dachsund) i had considered the barkbox for then but the baby destroys toys. He is a little over 2 and would love it since he bbn is the only one to really play with toys but didn’t know how they would last with him. They may get a subscription for Christmas. Maybe get a box and split it up in their stockings lol.

    • I love bark box. Best subscription I have ever had. The toys and treats are great quality. Another great thing about the company is if you have ANY problems with a toy or treat they will send you a replacement free of charge.

  28. Just letting you know that the Phone Case Of The Month subscription is shut down now 🙁

  29. I tried the foodstirs link for the free item and it didn’t give it to me 🙁

    • Did you end up subscribing to Foodstirs? If so, what’s your thoughts on it? Thanks.

  30. Sketch Box is another monthly box service: it comes in two levels and two price points. They provide artists with supplies like pencils, markers, paints, ink, instructions on art projects and such. Looks so good! I want to sign up for that one…

  31. The Raw Spice Bar raised their price to $8 and the code for half off is now freshspices.

The Simple Loose Tea sub is now $9 with $2.99 shipping. The code doesn’t work but they give box5 for a $4 discount bringing it to $7.99 w/shipping.

  32. Is the Sprezzabox still valid? It’s only giving me 10% off.

    • Sprezzabox just ended on Sunday.

  33. Squix wouldn’t let me use the free gift code :/

    • Sorry – that code was expired – we’ve updated it with the recent code.

  34. Liz, you may want to amend the Birchbox section! They no longer offer the review points each month & new subscribers will no longer have that as an incentive. ?

    • True but you still earn points by making purchases from their store and when friends sign up

      • I just signed up for birchbox and just received my first one yesterday & i had the option to review my products and I got 10 points for each item I reviewed !!

      • Birchbox lets you review 5 or 6 items when you initially begin then you don’t receive anymore after for reviews. They do have some random specials where you can receive extra points on purchases.

    • I was so irritated by that review points change that I contacted Birchbox and let them know they would likely lose subscribers as it was the only real incentive of that sub. Ipsy gives you a bag as well as points to earn free products. Sephora Play gives you top brands that you’ve heard of and are rarely if ever disappointed as well as 10 beauty insider points for the sub cost. I’m addicted to subs and have a massive case of FOMO if I cancel. Everytime I decide to cancel, I get something awesome and wuss out lol.

      • I get 10 points per reviews on the products I got from Birchbox.

      • Yep! That’s why I quit!

  35. I think Serendipity by LLB should also get a mention. Its usually pretty awesome and its a lifestyle box. Not the traditional beauty or food box.

  36. Thank you!!! JUST happen to get up, getting ready for work (work at home) to look at my emails and seen the post for the Target Beauty Boxes of 2. Have always seen 1, but decided to hurry up and grab the second box. You posted theses boxes at 4:16am EST, I “literally” seen and bought these boxes at 4:22am EST. I also browsed your lists for $10.00 or less beauty boxes, which I will also be buying. Thanks for the heads up, as I was looking to see when the Target Beauty Boxes were available yesterday 7/4/16. Thank you again!!!!

    • Try Stylist Box by Esentials it’s a great freaking box! I LOVE IT!

      • I looked up “stylist box by essentials” in Google and didn’t find it. :/

  37. Walmart baby box..4 boxes a yr.. $5 each

    • That’s awesome! Thank you!!

  38. Do u have ANY idea when Target is gonna release its next box??

  39. Hi Liz, love your list, its a great guide that I recommend to all my friends when they want great subscription boxes at a reasonable cost. I do notice that you do not have Angels Cup coffee subscription listed, its only 8.99 per month. We subscribe to it and love it!

    • I didn’t like the Angels Cup coffee subscription, not knowing what I was brewing before I brewed it.

  40. Thank you for having this list available. Just ordered my Bulu Box subscription.

  41. Liz,
Thanks for the Target Alert this morning. It really helped me to know early. I ordered it!!!

  42. Liz Thank You for making it REALLY EASY to find and order ALL of these Subscription Boxes,, I Truly do Appreciate what You have done,, Thank You and God Bless You andYour Family…

  43. The Walmart Beauty Box is great! I signed up back in the fall and so far both boxes I received were definitely worth the $5. Great size samples along with a full size product here and there.

  44. What about target beauty box or ply by saphoria? Those are both under 10.00.

  45. I don’t see #19. Am I blind? lol

Also, Ghost Spice Supply is 9.99 on a regular basis. I love the spices they send!

  46. I thought this was going to be 20 sub box subscriptions that are normally $10 or less instead very few are. I feel bit disappointed. I was hoping to find sub boxes that are only $10 or less a month through the whole subscription.

    • Sorry for any confusion! I wanted to make a list of boxes you could try on the cheap to see if they were right for you, but 11 out of the 20 boxes listed are always less than $10 a month. Hope that helps explain!

      • Thank you, that explains. Right now I’m in search of inexpensive but interesting or useful sub boxes.

      • I’ll work on more lists for you 🙂

      • Thank you that is kind.

      • I found this list awesome!!!! So helpful & has given me so many gift ideas! Thank you for putting them together. I wonder how many ship to APO (military overseas)
        Thanks again! Great article!

  47. Peaches and petals code has “reached its usage limit” as of Sunday 1.24.16

    • I used it.. (9:31pm~ PST).. 1/24.. Maybe it was entered wrong, or they fixed it.???

  48. I thought Graze stopped the $6.99 for 4 snacks box? They still have the 8 snacks version.

    • Thanks for letting us know – updated the post! 🙂

    • I think you can get a 4-pack of dippers only or flapjacks only… Otherwise, yeah they switched everyone to an 8-pack.
