SprezzaBox “Esquire” October 2019 Review

This month’s box is an exclusive partnership with Esquire and features some items expertly curated by their editors and style experts. The back of this card details the items we received. Let’s dive in!

Original Penguin Necktie – Estimated Value $55 (based on the cost of other Original Penguin ties)

This tie is pretty amazing! My husband and I were both huge fans of the style and colors. This is a poly/linen/viscose blend in a nice dusty blue with dark blue and burnt orange striped details. The back features the adorable Original Penguin logo and this tie just looks and feels like a quality item!

Here it is on my husband. He wore it to work the day after receiving it because he liked it so much (hence, the wrinkles)!

Unsimply Stitched Blue Pin Dot Socks – Estimated Value $12.00 (based on the cost of socks on their site)

These socks are nice and pair well with the tie thanks to the blue color scheme. I like the two shades of blue and the fun pattern and so did my husband.

Here are the socks on with his work shoes. This is after a long day of work and he said they were comfortable to wear!

Royal Blue SprezzaTie Clip – Estimated Value $18.00 (This might be the same tie clip, but it does look a bit shinier than the one we received!)

This tie clip suits my husband’s style very much! It is simple and pairs very nicely with the tie he received this month (see the last photo). It is a metal clip with a matte blue coating in a darker royal blue color. He loves classic items like this so he was pretty pleased!

Brown Foulard Sprezza Pocket Square – Estimated Value $18.00 (Based on the cost of other foulard pocket squares)

This pocket square is one that I am on the fence about! This mustard-brown color is unique and looks nice with the blue, which also ties in well with the rest of the box, but it’s also sort of a tough color to pull off I think! Since it is just a pocket square and you could style it with just the edge showing, I think it will work. My husband is a fan, and that’s all that matters, I guess!

Brickell Cream and Moisturizer Samples

This is a brand that sounds familiar, but I can’t place it so I’m not sure if we’ve ever tried it before or not. I love the sleek black packaging and I think Brickell’s sample kit is a pretty fantastic idea that I wish women’s skincare websites would follow! He received two different products to try; their resurfacing anti-aging cream and their face moisturizer and there are no sizes listed anywhere so I was unable to estimate the value.

Brickell Daily Essential Face Moisturizer – Buy a full size 4 oz. bottle for $35.00

This moisturizer consistency is a cross between a serum and a lotion and it is meant to moisturize without clogging pores. It contains aloe leaf juice, rooibos extract, jojoba seed oil and DMAE (Dimethylaminoethanol) which has an anti-inflammatory effect on skin and can increase its firmness. It has a slight menthol scent and also smells a bit earthy, most likely from the various tea extracts it contains. It absorbs pretty well, but since my husband has oily skin and doesn’t moisturize, he probably won’t be using this.

Brickell Resurfacing Anti Aging Cream – Buy a full size 2 oz. jar for $50

This cream is a slightly thicker consistency, but still suitable for a daytime cream, made with Vitamin C, borage oil, and MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane) which I have never heard of but can apparently help decrease the breakdown of collagen underneath the skin. It also contains coconut oil and aloe juice all of which serve to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and also even out and brighten your skin tone.

Verdict: This month’s SprezzaBox partnership with Esquire was one that my husband really enjoyed. He liked all of the items he received and will definitely be using them all with the exception of the skincare samples. That tie is by far his favorite item (and mine) and the tie clip is a close second! I am estimating the value to be about $103 and that doesn’t include the Brickell items. I think that’s a pretty great deal for a $30.00 ($28.00 + $2.00 shipping) box full of stylish essentials!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, you would likely receive the November box.

COUPON: Expiring Soon! Use code MDW2020 to save 25% off your first box!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $30.00 ($28.00 +$2.00 shipping), which means that each of the 5 items (counting the Brickell samples as one) in the box has an average cost of $6.00.
