Nomadik "Day Trippin" September 2019 Review

There is a small trifold pamphlet that goes over the three items included in this month's box, plus destination suggestions, the Nomadik Challenge, and a couple of discount codes for two of the featured brands.

Speaqua Cruiser Wireless Speaker - Retail Value $24.99 (on sale for $17.50)

You'd think I had enough travel speakers at this point in my life, but somehow I don't. This little black 2.5" one is small but mighty and will make a good addition to my kayak trips. It comes with a detachable strap to keep a hold on it as well as its own USB charging cord. I'm actually kind of impressed with the bass this fella can produce and have been using it in my office (perhaps to the chagrin of Emily and Lacey). I am also appreciative of its simple design that only includes a single power button and charging port. It was easy to connect to my iPhone via Bluetooth and I can control everything else from there. I can also see this providing some soothing sounds in a tent if you need something to fall asleep to.

Igloo Lunch Clutch - Retail Value $22.00

This small insulated lunch bag is perfect for keeping snacks cold for a hike or quick excursion. The design they chose to send is a blue, white, and red pattern that harkens a far east feeling. The bottom measures 11" x 3.25" and it has a sturdy zipper to keep the cool in and a red strap. The inside is lined with antimicrobial and leak-resistant fabric that allows for easy clean up if things get messy. It measures almost 7 inches high so it's quite roomy and collapses flat to travel well. I can see using this on a short road trip, camping, or even just taking lunch back and forth to the office.

Raw Elements Tinted Face Stick Sunblock, 0.6 oz. - Retail Value $15.99

I was thinking that this came a little late in the season, but of course, the sun is ever-present even when it's not hot outside and it's easy for me to forget. This little stick is reef safe (which means it's not toxic to corals or other marine wildlife in the coral ecosystem) and is free of chemicals, preservatives and fragrances as well as being cruelty-free. Using non nano zinc oxide, this sunscreen has an SPF of 30 and goes on quite easily. It has a slight white color when first swiped, but can be rubbed in to give a clear finish. The travel-size allows for it to be tossed into a bag while you're heading out the door without having to lug around a huge bottle of liquid.

Verdict: The three items in this month's Nomadik didn't get me super excited, but each one is definitely useful. The total retail value for this box is $62.98 which is quite a bit higher than the $37.94 cost. The speaker is probably my favorite item, but I'm more excited to see what comes next month so I can keep building my outdoorsy arsenal.

Not a fan of Nomadik. The items seem fairly cheap (a pamphlet, really?). And my understanding is the owner is very difficult to work with. Not customer focused nor loyal.
