October 2019 No Make No Life Box "Harajuku Halloween" Review

The booklet list gives you detailed information on each item, as well as instructions on how to use certain products. This month's theme is 'Harajuku Halloween.'

Lucky Wink Acupressure Face Mask - Retail Value $7.91

Ok, this is cute. I am not sure it actually does anything, but this is the sort of fun product I hope to see in a box like this. Made of silicone, this mask is lined on the inside with lumps and bumps, meant to serve as a sort of wearable acupressure treatment for your face. It doesn't really feel like much is happening to me personally, but I found the mask so fun and charming I am not sure I really care!

Esfolio Pumpkin Rejuvenate Mask - Retail Value $1.87

Tis' the season for pumpkin everything and this mask arrived with perfect timing. As someone who doesn't love the scent of pumpkin, I was pleased that this had more of a generic fresh mask scent. It was very hydrating and fit my face quite well!

MewGirl Nail Stickers - Retail Value $1.06

Nail stickers are super nostalgic for me. I used them a lot as a kid who had a mom that didn't trust them not to spill nail polish everywhere. These have a retro theme of fruit, hearts, and pinup girls.

Tony Moly Bling Cat Eye Mask - Retail Value $3.15

I was really excited to try this mask because if its cute cat shape! It is meant as more of an eye area only mask so plan on it only covering so much of your face. It was a black cotton fabric that fit well and was beyond adorable.

Meow.

Fate Grand Order x Sanrio Makeup Palette - Retail Value $11.72

I am not familiar at all with the Fate Grand Order franchise, but I read that it is a mobile game. Our palette is based on one of the popular characters. Inside are 4 eyeshadows and a lip+cheek combo cream. The pigment isn't great, but I didn't expect it to be amazing from a product of this nature. It would be a really fun option for a kid's fun makeup treat.

Weak on pigment, but still fun.

Happy Halloween Bath Powder - Retail Value $1.34

This powder is legit NEON orange! I was really worried it would stain me and my tub, but that thankfully didn't happen. It was like floating around in pumpkin water, which is totally seasonally appropriate. The scent is a little overwhelming and in your face fruity.

Momocos Fruit Gloss - Retail Value $4.87

I thought this lipgloss was so cute. It actually is pretty moisturizing too, and though it looks clear on my lips the faint purple tint is a nice touch. It has a fun cherry scent!

Pop Devil Color Treatment - Retail Value $7.91

This was an interesting addition to this month's box that I sadly was not brave enough to test for you. It is a conditioning treatment that also leaves a color deposit behind in your hair. This particular shade is an "ash pink" which I would actually be pretty into, though it doesn't say anywhere how long it lasts in your hair. I have been growing out my natural shade, so I sadly wasn't up for experimenting.

Verdict: No Make No Life Box was such a fun assortment of Halloween fun this month. I liked that it was heavy on the masks because I use them a lot, and I appreciate the odd and over the top items such as the cat mask and hair tint (even though I didn't try it!). This box has a value of about $40.00, which is slightly above the subscription cost and I think I am just going concluding that this is more of an experience/fun box rather than a high-value for cost box. Subscribing to it with that expectation is probably a wise idea. If you are looking for an assortment of unique and often silly K and J Beauty items, this is a really fun choice.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will most likely get the November box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.00 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $4.38.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I love how fun the items they send are, but the price point is just too high. I love the reviews though!

Does the plastic kitty facemask work for keeping sheet masks in place on your face? I have been wanting something like that, but a little worried about one size fits all not really fitting all. Sephora carries one of those now too but not in cute kitty form.

Cute for younger girls. The value is definitely not there.

Such cute items.

I would be pretty disappointed if I paid $35 and this is what I received in return. I think there’s consistently better kbeauty boxes out there for that price range.
