Fortune Cookie Soap Halloween 2019 Box Review
Here is the info sheet for the box will full scent descriptions and creepy details.
We also received an FCS-themed phone stand!
Special Diet Shower Smoothie
I love the nozzle dispenser of this shower smoothie- it is so easy to use in the shower when I have slippery fingers. This shower gel glides smoothly across the skin, and it left my skin smelling of jasmine, strawberry, sugared cantaloupe, and banana.
We Are The Weirdos Whipped Cream
This is one of my all-time favorite lotion formulas, and though I have about fifty unopened lotions scattered across my apartment I have already reached for this multiple times. I like the spooky colors of grey and purple, and the scent is a tasty blend of red apples, melon, lily, amber, and vanilla.
Relax... It’s Only Magic Bewitching Bath Tea
Anything I can use in a bathtub makes me happy, so this bag of bath tea (along with a reusable bag to keep it clean) is right up my alley. This is a blend of salt, oatmeal, and jasmine green tea, and the scent has notes of sweet tea, sumac, and clove.
Not Today, Madam Satan Bath Bomb
I love bath bombs, and "Not Today, Satan" is an inside joke between me and one of my friends, so everything about this made me smile- except for the fact it definitely stained my tub. That isn't the end of the world for me, and I enjoyed the relaxing smell of gentle orange blossom, honey, thyme, and incense.
Academy of The Unseen Arts Room Spray
I have quite a collection of room sprays because I never actually use them? I think I need to leave this one out where I can easily see it and spray it before I leave for the day (that way, I have a nice smelling apartment when I come back). This spray has hints of sweetness thanks to the tonka bean, but the saffron, ginger, and white currant balance it to be a delicious herby scent.
Something Wicca This Way Comes Hydrate Me Lotion
While I love the FCS whipped creams, the Hydrate Me lotions aren't my favorite. To use, you apply it on damp skin while finishing up your shower, and I am a creature of habit who doesn't like to change her shower and lotion routine. I did enjoy the scent though, which is a mix of vanilla orchid, sandalwood, and patchouli.
Gingerdead Bar Soap
This is one of my favorite scents in the box! It really evokes gingerbread with the mix of vanilla, clove, cinnamon, caramel, and nuts. The gingerdead man looks delightfully spooky, too.
Fallin1 Scent Diffuser
I like the usefulness of these small scent diffusers (this one is currently doing its thing in my closet, but wow is the plastic stopper hard to remove!) Hard work is rewarded, though, with a delightful scent of spiced apple soaked in bourbon, lemongrass, and cashmere musk.
Dark Passenger Body Bomb
This is a fun product concept- it is essentially a bath bomb you hold in your hands as you shower, and once water is added it turns into a fizzy, foamy soap that you can use to get clean. The scent was a yummy blend of lacuma, maple, and mango, and I also have now learned that lacuma is a Peruvian fruit.
Can You Spare A Brain Gel Candle
This was my favorite item in the box! Along with being delightfully spooky with a brain inside of the gel candle, it also smells amazing thanks to the scent of rock candy that somehow isn't overly sweet. It can fill my bedroom with its scent, and that's all I really ask from a candle.
My Bride Must Be Beautiful Fine Fragrance Mist
This is a sweet fragrance that isn't what I really reach for in a perfume- it is a blend of wedding cake, coralberry, sugar cane, and lychee compote. It does smell nice, and I thought the scent lasted for a long time on my skin, but I think this would have been better served as a body product instead.
Doppelgänger Detox Enzyme Face Mask
This face mask is made with aloe, fruit extracts, witch hazel, and charcoal, but the presence of alcohol pretty high on the ingredients list makes this a product I am hesitant to use on sensitive parts of my face. I used it on my forehead and thought it was left smoother, but I am keeping this golden amber, musk, and sparkling citrus-scented mask away from these redness-prone cheeks.
Check out those pretty sparkles though!
The Verdict: FCS always hits the ball out of the park when it comes to their LE boxes! Even though the initial cost of this box was pricier at $50, I feel like they killed the value when you look at all of the custom, full-size products we received. My favorites of the box are the candle and the whipped cream, but I loved the creativity shown in every aspect of the box.
