  1. If I didn’t get the last BL because I am still on the waiting list, will I be able to get this one?

  2. just completed a Charmer Foundation quiz for Boxycharm!!! 😊🙌🤗 Did anyone else get this email?

    • Yea I filled it put 4 or 5 days ago? Excited about this feature

    • I did and I’m extremely curious how it’s going to be applied. Looking forward to receiving complexion products, so hoping they can pull it off.

    • Yes. I also received a questionnaire regarding the shades of foundation and complexion 4 CC cream BB cream and all of the above. Got a little confused really hard to pick and choose when you don’t have the product in front of you when I filled out the questionnaire and type of products that I like him when I use I’m probably the only one so chances are I’m going to have to substitute so I broke it down two more common products. Did you have a challenge doing it any concerns cuz I ended up picking some the basic one I picked was it Cosmetics and being who I am anxious and impatient I want ahead and ordered my cell phone number their foundations I know they’re really good for CC cream but when I read the ingredients and how it supposed to perform I’m one ahead and ordered one I’m QVC they have six payments on paying like $4 $5 a month for an item that cost under nose 30 some-odd dollars $5 a month I think I could pull that off LOL. let me know give me some ideas of what you think

    • I didn’t get the e-mail so I’m guessing I’m not getting any foundation?

      • I didn’t receive one, either.

    • yes. let’s see if they look at that survey more than they do the base survey. fingers crossed if they’re going to get into foundations or concealers

  3. I am a sucker for packaging and this is adorable!

  4. Looking at the prices of the November boxy premium, I really hope that boxy would up their game for boxyluxe members at least for the December box. Since $50 is the highest price tag, the total value of luxe should be significantly higher than the recent box values, given that November premium is at 340. I wasn’t too thrilled with my September boxyluxe….. it was ok, but other than the Sunday Riley nothing was too impressive. I would however be quite disappointed if December luxe is at close value to November premium.

    • I believe they said it will be worth $300. Interesting how a less expensive box has a higher value. I’m sure the first Premium box was created this way on purpose; to get everyone to sign up.

      • The said $340 value is now for both the base box and premium, since we have to get 2 the first month, not just premium like originally said. I think they were being called out for the premium items not being worth the said $340 value, because all of a sudden they started saying it was the value for both boxes combined.

      • $340 is just the premium. There is a breakdown floating around if you search for it. I doubt future boxes will have as high of a value as they are promising $175. A lot of the $340 is tied up in the $150 eye cream

    • To be fair half the RV from premium is from an unheard of eye cream. Even if luxe is a lower RV but has trusted brands I would be happier with that than some crazy RV from a company no one has ever heard of or will ever hear of outside of the sub box world.

  5. This is pretty, but bulky, and overall I’m just not a fan of gimmicky packaging. Some people are going to love this, but it’s not my jam, and I’m not interested in anything “lifestyle “ which is part of Luxe. Hard pass for me.

  6. The palette looks so pretty .. and love the theme .. kinda whimsical .. wish it was a theme like some great makeup & great skincare for nighttime .. please no cheap fillers like water bottles 🥰😴

    • I would agree with packaging is cute but not realistic. If there is no way to take out the top piece and cover I will likely regift. The functionality of the “book” isn’t realistic. And seriously. Please no more water bottles.

  7. I’m in love with this spoiler! It’s cute and seems perfect for Christmas gifting if that’s what one chooses to do with it! Love it!

    • I agree. A perfect Christmas gift. I love the theme…..just wish I loved the colors. Every time I put blue on my eyes, it looks like someone punched me in the face! Hahaha. Also, I have deep green eyes….but it makes them look almost brown/hazel. LoL

  8. Am still waiting for boxy to bring Huda beauty. Just saying

  9. Dammit, I might have to resub to BoxyLuxe. I love Storybook, and the swatches are amazing.

  10. 😯 This seems interesting and different. I’m on palette overload so I may end of giving it away but I’m still excited to see the rest of the spoilers. Boxycharm has been killing it lately.

  11. I just signed up for this box. It shows i am on a waitlist. I hope that doesn’t last long. This palette seems pretty awesome

    • Boxy has been pretty good about taking people off Luxe before the next one starts. If you wanted, you could email them and ask them how long it will be and SOMETIMES they will bump you up

  12. I might have to unsub from luxe. I am not impressed with this spoiler. It looks like almost every other PUR I have gotten in subscription boxes.

  13. Check out Boxycharm’s FB stories to see a video of the swatches. These pictures are NOT doing this palette any justice. I thought for sure that this was going to be a keep for the packaging only, but now that I have seen the swatches I have changed my mind. The pigment and reflect definitely does not translate in the photos.

    • I follow boxycharm of snap chat and they swatched all of the colors. They turned out beautiful. It made me want to sign up. The pics just may not be the best

      • Yep. That’s what I was saying lol

      • Lol- i totally misread what you wrote! 🤦🏻‍♀️

  14. Those colors are so pretty!!

  15. I would like to point out to everyone that MSA is simply offering a service to us (at NO CHARGE, btw) in regard to sub boxes that you would otherwise have to search for information on your own. They do not manage, curate, or offer solutions to these vendors’ boxes/issues. I feel like trying to shame them online ( polite, but public shame none the less) is uncalled for. They do not force us to purchase ANY subscription but rather give us as much information as they can to let us make our own educated choices. I want to thank MSA for doing the majority of the work for me. I always do additional research whenever I purchase from a vendor.

    • Preach it sista! <3

    • 👏 YES this! Well said and thank you.

    • Bam!!! One more time for the people in the back!!👏👏👏

    • Outstanding comment.

  16. This is so cute!!!

  17. This looks fun, and actually looks pigmented. Not like the dose of colors palette’s everyone were dying over, which were highly overrated IMO. I’ve never tried this brand, this palette is huge lol

  18. While I’m excited for this, I am kinda angry too. Storybook took 7 months to get their second book palette out to subscribers, 7 MONTHS! We paid and waited for something that was supposed to be out within a month. Now to find that they have been working on this instead of the promised items… Err….

    • Didn’t the founder also rip off some people’s designs for a different side project sub box thing also?

  19. Hope it’s good quality and not made in PRC

    • They are good quality and made in the USA.

    • The PRC has billions of people do you think all the women who live in China wear cheap unsafe makeup? I’m tired of seeing this. Be aware of where the company makes things, don’t label an entire country where practically EVERYTHING we have is made.

      • Except that PRC tests on animals. No thanks.

      • Not true. Products SOLD in China have to be tested on animals. Products MADE in China, but sold elsewhere, do not.

      • “Research by Cruelty Free International and the Dr Hadwen Trust suggests that at least 115 million animals may be used in experiments worldwide each year. We estimate that the top 9 animal testing countries in the world are the USA, Japan, China, Australia, France, Canada, the UK, Germany and Brazil, in that order.”- CFI

“In 2013, a ban on animal testing for cosmetics and the marketing of cosmetics tested on animals went into effect in the European Union, paving the way for efforts to find alternatives for all of the common cosmetics tests that use animals. India, Israel, Norway and Switzerland have passed similar laws. Cosmetic companies in the United States and abroad that conduct animal tests will not be able to sell those products in any of these countries unless they change their practices. California, as well as Guatemala, New Zealand, South Korea, Taiwan, Turkey and several states in Brazil have also passed laws to ban or limit cosmetic animal testing.”- Human Society

It’s a common misconception that US is CF, while China is not. Honestly, it’s best to research each company regardless of where they were manufactured. The loopholes with cosmetics are many, and the industry is very under regulated.

      • Excellently presented.

      • Thanks Paige 🙂 I wish it weren’t true. As a wildlife rescuer it’s something I feel very strongly about. The US is certainly culpable for it’s continued role in animal testing. China gets a bad rap but there are so many countries that are not blameless. China is working on changing their requirements as well. In 2017 they opened a non testing facility and are working on implementing alternative methods. CFI also started a Leaping Bunny pilot program in China which allows companies to produce and sell in China, without the need for animal testing. The short story is…it’s very complicated and not every thing is always what it seems. There is a whole lot of smoke and mirrors and misconceptions in the cosmetic industry.

      • Thank you, SquirrellyGirl

      • Sure thing Mimosa! And thanks, now I’m thirsty lol

      • Omg do you rehab squirrels too?!?! I just read your comment and ALWAYS wondered about that name everytime I see it!!! I rehab foxers, and whatever shows up really, but squirrels will always have my soul and it KILLS me everytime to release them, but I know I have too. I had 2 that lived with me inside for 15 years and the other 12 and one died of heart failure and the other lung cancer, and it about KILLED me. My whole life revolved around them!!!!

  20. If we signed up for the premium do we still get boxyluxe?

    • From what I’ve heard you have to get the regular box to get the lux.

    • The only Dose I have is the mauve and it’s a very pretty palette. Unfortunately I got the mauve in my box so I now have two. I really wanted to trade but I’m thinking about just giving it to my daughter for Xmas. I’m just not sure if she’s ready yet. She’s 10 and loves makeup but isn’t too good at taking care of what I have given her so far. So I’ve held off on giving her brand name items.

      • I have the Warm Browns and I really wanted the Mauves. If you want to trade DM on my IG: blingthang1.

    • I heard after this month or November I mean, you can drop either the regular or premium and still get luxe. So if you want just premium and luxe you can do that.

      • the first month for premium you have to get the base box after that you can cancel but if you cancel the base box you can no longer get the boxyluxe because boxyluxe is just an upgrade to the base box.

  21. I definitely am excited about this palette. It’s looks like it’s gonna be soooo cool

    • Umm yay! Really stepping the game up! They better for Dec.

  22. I loved themed palettes so I’m so excited about this. I saw swatches on Boxycharmsneakpeek and they are gorgeous.

  23. Not for me. I don’t wear pink or blue eyeshadow. Hopefully the next few spoilers are good or I’ll be skipping this one.

    • Me too. Unless this is one of the choice items for Luxe. On the Instagram post that showed this spoiler it said that choice for Luxe opens Oct 29th

      • I hope it’s choice so I can be guaranteed to get it.

  24. I don’t know if everyone already knows this, or if anyone wants to know this. I am simply saying this for anyone who may be interested. If you’re familiar with colourpop, they did a couple of different collaborations with Disney. You can just Google it. I’m saying this for people who want this and don’t get it or if anyone just wanted to purchase it.

    • Besame also has a disney line

      • Great minds think alike!

      • Haha we posted almost at the same time! <3

      • Besame’s Sleeping Beauty palette is AMAZING. I literally get compliments every time I wear it, which is crazy cause I do such different looks with it. It has color stories directly from the film cels for both Aurora & Maleficent.

I also got complimented the first time I ever wore the Maleficent lipstick from the same collection.

      • And both Bésame and Colourpop are actually licensed by Disney.

    • Bésame Cosmetics does a ton of Disney themed cosmetics, too.

  25. Interesting! Storybook cosmetics also has their own monthly subscription boxes now as well. The quality is okay but overall kind of bulky packaging.

  26. This looks like a pretty fun palette. Can create a range of eye looks from neutral to colorful. I hope it’s not a variation!

  27. Liz/MSA: This is all well and good:

FYI – From Boxycharm: “Don’t worry, NEW members that participate in a gift with purchase promotion still have a chance to receive a box variation that includes the sneak peeks of the month for existing members. Although they can’t guarantee which variation NEW Charmers will receive, you can rest assured that the Boxy Team all variations will be equally amazing.”

But, what about those of us who subscribed with the ‘TrickorTarte’ GWP, new subscriber for October promo, and DID NOT receive a gift??!! I only received five items in my October box…one was a Tarte palette; however, I did NOT receive a free gift item…of any type. I’ve emailed Boxycharm and have not received any reply. It’s been over a week. Can you please advise on what to do to get my free gift? Truly, if customer service is by email…and one has emailed with no reply…what else can be done to get action? Thank you in advance for your advice.

    • Hi Alice! In checking BoxyCharm’s site, their method of contact does appear to be electronic. They have their Contact Us information here: Hope that helps!

      • HI, Liz! Thank you; but, I did use it to send several emails over a period of a week, and Boxycharm has yet to reply. It’s really disappointing. I WANT to like them; but, they’re making it challenging, lol.

      • If you keep sending emails, they get bumped to the bottom of the list. They also have a tendency to go into your spam inbox, so check there for their responses. They’ve always responded to my emails and fixed whatever problem I’ve may have had.

      • I’m holding out hope that they will follow through. Thank you.

      • They’ve actually been really helpful to me as well, I’d say just send the email and leave it and they will eventually get to you. I sent one email and waited for like 4 business days, but they did get back in the end and sent me a free replacement 🙂

      • Each time you email, it sends you to the pack of the line. A pain for sure, I’m sorry 😕

      • Thank you. I hope to hear from them soon!

      • I checked and I emailed boxycharm on sep 29th and they still haven’t gotten back to me

      • I hope you get an answer, too!

      • I’ve noticed people are having some luck on social media through comments on posts. Not sure if the issues are being resolved, but they are sending DMs to people posting comments regarding really similar issues.

      • Thank you for this suggestion!

      • That’s almost always the best way to get a response. Most companies monitor their Socials and don’t want public complaints so they try to resolve as quickly as possible. I generally DM them first to give them a chance to resolve without a group issue but if that doesn’t work, I post on their pages.

      • I just sent another email. I’ll let you know if they respond. Thanks, again.

    • Hi Alice,

So sorry about this. I asked Boxycharm about this and this is their response:

“In the event that you chose to participate in the gift with purchase, and you got a box that did not include the gift with purchase, please contact [email protected] to let them know that you did not receive the spoiler item you thought you would so they can address it.”

I’m asking them now how long someone should expect to wait to get a response. Again, so sorry about this.

      • Thank you, Liz. I have re-emailed them and, hopefully, they will reply. Thanks, too, for going the extra mile on trying to get answers regarding their response time. I’ll check back here to see if you heard anything in that regard. I appreciate all.

  28. I noticed MSA finally put a disclaimer about the variations!

    • It still doesn’t address those of us who did not receive the promised ‘GWP’ for October. Boxycharm fails to reply to emails. I only received five items…no free sixth new subscriber gift. What else can one do when Boxycharm customer service fails to answer an email?

      • You only want to email them once. They respond in the order received, with every email you are bumped to the end of the list. It might take a few days, but they usually respond. Hopefully you hear something!

      • Yes, what Layla says is correct. Every time you send another email it knocks you back to the very end of the queue. You are better off sending only a single email and then waiting for them to respond. Their front page says they are experiencing high volume of emails so it might take a few extra days.

      • Well, I waited a week before I sent a second email. You would think they would respond in seven days. (?!) Thank you!

      • Thank you, both. I did read their page thoroughly aND i sawith the email notice. Still, a week…sheesh. I’m a diligent researcher and I don’t ask for help unless I’ve exhausted resources, so here I am!

      • I would message them on a public forum like Facebook or Instagram they’re more likely to replied back to you when other people are seeing It. They don’t want to seem like they’re doing a badd job because they want more customers. Hopefully that will get them to fix it for you.

      • Thank you!

      • A couple of months ago, I used the code to get the free Becca powder, didn’t get it in my box. I didn’t say anything because I really didn’t care too much but over a week later, they sent me an email saying they were sorry they didn’t send it and they’d ship it separately. So I ended up getting about 3 weeks after I got my box. But at least I didn’t have to ask for it.

      • That is interesting. I’m going to stay persistent and see if they will follow through.

  29. Yes I have been wanting to try this brand and what pretty colors, love the pinks and the blues. I hope its not a variation —–Cant wait to see what else what we will get in this box.

  30. Ugggh no, I got sucked in when they were being buzzed about for their Wizard palette and it was such a ripoff. You are basically paying for a subpar licensed product.

  31. I thought regular Boxy was going to be $25 starting in November so wouldn’t it be $25 plus $28 in December?

    • I think boxyluxe is still $49.99 so $25 + $24.99.

      • Boxyluxe is 28.99 and base is going up to $25 so it will be 53.99 plus tax in most states

      • I read this in the email directly from boxycharm when they announced premium and the increased price of the base box:

To deliver this ever-improving member experience, we’re updating the BoxyCharm price to $25 per month starting November 1, 2019. The BoxyLuxe price of $49.99 every 3 months remains the same.

      • We will see how it plays out. As of now, there is conflicting information. If you go to FAQ it has the info you listed. If you go into your account, Boxyluxe is still listed as being $28.99 every 3 months. I also wonder how this works for people, like me, with a prepaid membership. I locked in 6 months @19.33 a month, but does that mean I am actually paying 30.66, instead of the previous $28.99 on luxe months? Boxy surely is the best at making things confusing for people…

      • I also saw the email that stated boxylux price would remain at $49.99 even though the regular box was going up.

  32. Hey now! I’m liking what I see! 👀👍🙌🤗❤

  33. I cant wait to see more spoilers from boxycharm.

  34. The saying goes you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Sometimes the higher price tag has more to do with the packaging than actual quality of product. Will need to see more spoilers before I pull the trigger.

    • I got sucked in when they got mega famous for the Wizard palette and brushes. Honestly they are just OK, the palettes are way too expensive and not worth it in my opinion.

  35. Not for me, I am really more concerned about quality over cute packaging. You really can’t judge a book by it’s cover.

    • Cute packaging but I don’t display my makeup so I’m not coming back for that one!

    • The quality on all my Storybook Cosmetics palettes is very much on point. They’re high quality formulated.

  36. I have their wizard one and the quality is nice! Not sure this is enough to get me on its own though as I have so much eyeshadow but it is really pretty to display

  37. Hmmm. I’m surprisingly into this palette. I’m usually a neutral girl all the way but I’ve been admiring some blue looks I’ve seen done by women in a makeup group I belong to. I think I’d acutually get a good amount of use out of this. Trying new things is the main reason I sub to Boxy!

  38. Seriously this looks like it’s for a 5 year old. No thank you!!

    • I’m thinking about giving this to my 6 year old niece but I am undecided. She keeps getting into and ruining my sisters makeup because she likes playing but isn’t responsible.

    • That was my initial thought, but then I saw on YouTube video how they swatched and they are stunning. Totally changed my mind..

  39. Oh! I’ve been wanting to try storybook cosmetics for awhile now. It’s a cute concept. Bulky packaging nonetheless but still adorable.

  40. I’m sure some people will love this – but it’s not for me. Blech.

    • I want this palette BAD because it’s Sleeping Beauty themed and I named my oldest daughter Aurora because Sleeping Beauty is my favorite Disney movie ever, sssooooo with my luck I’m not going to get it but fingers crossed

      • If you’re a boxyluxe subscriber I’m pretty sure you’re guaranteed to receive it. Eyeshadow palettes are normally not a variant item.

      • This will be in boxyluxe for dec have to sign up for it now though

    • So if i upgrade for boxy luxe, what happened with the regular? How can I get both?
