Bluum Box September 2019 Review

This Bluum box was sent for my son, Parker, who is 3 years old. Lately, my boxes have been arriving later and later and this month my items arrived in a plain unmarked box instead of their usual red boxes.

Mudpuppy Robotic Lab Puzzle Sticks - Retail Value $13.99

First up, we have this set of robot puzzle sticks from Mudpuppy. I love all of the creative toys from this company and this is a great one! It features 3 different sets of double-sided puzzle sticks that you can arrange for a total of 6 different robot puzzles. There are 3 vertical designs and 3 horizontal and the sticks have a nice coating on them that makes them feel nice and sturdy. I think these are a great choice for my son who loves puzzles!

Mudpuppy Superhero Color-in-Puzzle  – Retail Value $9.99

Our second puzzle is also from Mudpuppy, although I couldn't find this one on their site anywhere. While it is another puzzle, this one is very different from our puzzle sticks. This puzzle features 24 pieces and a set of 5 crayons so that we can color the superhero design after putting our puzzle together. This is such a fun idea and will be a great way for my son to practice his coloring skills and be creative after completing the challenge of putting together the puzzle.

Fred Bites and Pieces Sandwich Cutter - Retail Value $10.00

This next item isn't from Mudpuppy, but it does fit well within the theme of puzzles that our box seems to have! This sandwich cutter is so fun and effectively removes the crust (a big deal for my 5-year-old lately) while also cutting their sandwiches into four fun puzzle piece shapes. It worked pretty well and this is definitely a fun and unique addition to our kitchen!

Yogi Yoga Cards for Joyful Learning - Retail Value $19.99 (found here for $14.99 - although our version does not have the 2 DIY dice)

The last item in our box is not a puzzle, but instead, it is a really unique item that I was pleased to see in this box! It looks like this actually started as a Kickstarter campaign and newer sets come with a set of 2 DIY dice that ours didn't include (but what a fun idea!). This set of Yogi cards features 20 different yoga pose cards that are accompanied by another card featuring a cute little rhyme to describe each pose. The cards are adorably illustrated and feature some really fun moves that I know my kids will love! This will be such a great activity to just pull out any time to get them active and moving! They included a great instruction booklet that featured an explanation of what yoga is, the benefits and how to use the cards. They shared four different ways to "play" or use the cards which are perfectly planned for use with children as well as a cute Yogi birthday activity. This was my favorite item this month since we don't have anything quite like it!

Verdict: This month's Bluum box was a pretty great one! While their boxes have been arriving pretty late and in random boxes for packaging, I have been pleased with the contents. I think everything was age-appropriate and they were quality toys that we will get a lot of use out of. I think that the sandwich cutter and the yoga cards were especially unique and will help to make daily life just a bit more fun when we can incorporate either of them into our routine! The total retail value of the items is about $53.97 which is pretty good for a $34 (plus free shipping) box!

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? All orders are processed the first of every month and shipped out on the 9th. If you order today, you will start receiving a box for next month.

Value Breakdown: At $34 for this box, here is what you are paying approximately for each item:

  • Puzzle Sticks: $8.81
  • Color in Puzzle: $6.30
  • Sandwich Cutter: $6.30
  • Yoga Cards: $12.59

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
