Pura Vida Bracelet Club August 2019 Review

Pura Vida always includes a nice card explaining how they give back. You also get a fun sticker tucked inside an envelope thanking you for your support. It's such a nice touch. Plus, you can win a free bracelet by sharing your goodies on social media.

Your bracelets will arrive in a small drawstring bag with the Pura Vida Monthly Club logo on the outside. These bags are great for storing your bracelets or taking them with you when you travel.

The Sunflower Bracelet pack pictured here is what I was supposed to receive this month according to spoilers, but it looks like my original pack got lost in the mail and in the meantime, this pack SOLD OUT! I chatted with customer service and they quickly confirmed that my pack was not delivered and immediately sent out a new pack. They also directed me to this page which showed the two options I could receive which were the January 2019 La Jolla set or the March 2019 Woodstock set.

Since there is a chance that these could be repeats, they are offering to send something exclusive to subscribers who contact customer service and send in a photo of which pack they received. After a quick chat with customer service where I provided my order number and a photo of my pack, they issued me a $15 store credit. I’m not sure if I would consider that an exclusive item, but it is appreciated.

.

The La Jolla Set

Unfortunately, this is a repeat set for me, although it is one of my favorites and it's one of the rare packs that has four total bracelets in the set, so that is nice. This will make a nice gift once I figure out who this set might suit in my friends and family circle!

Mixed Blue Original Bracelet

This bracelet has various strings in different blue hues. Since blue is my favorite color, this one suits my style well!

Here it is on. This one is very simple by itself, but all of the various shades of blue look so nice together!

Genuine Lapis Stone Bracelet

This is probably my favorite bracelet in the set. The dark blue Lapis stone with a bit of sparkle to it makes this bracelet one that I can wear casually or use if I want to dress up my style just a bit. The stone is multifaceted and the dark color is such a nice contrast to the white string.

Here it is on. This one is great for when I need something simple but also interesting! I like to pair this one with other bracelets I've collected throughout my subscription.

Winter White Seed Bead Bracelet

This bracelet is very simple with the tiny white beads and that wider clear bead in the center. It looks very plain, but then the darker blue string on the other side helps it tie in well with the rest of our pack.

Here it is on. This one is almost too simple and tiny to wear by itself, but that's also what makes it a great one to pair with other bracelets!

Wave Charm Bracelet

This last bracelet is the bonus bracelet in the pack and another reason I love this set so much. They have so many great wave designs in their collection and this beautiful seafoam green string is the perfect setting for our silver wave.

Here it is on. This is such a fun one!

Here are the bracelets stacked together in a few different ways. All of the varying shades of blue work so well together and this pack was originally designed to "wave goodbye to 2018" so the white and blue colors make sense for the theme fitting of a January pack. As an August set, I think it's still a good choice since it is still beach season!

I love that these bracelets feature bands that you can adjust to fit your wrists comfortably (please ignore the purple ink on my arm - my daughter had a pen explosion that I had to clean up). If the bracelet ends are too long on your wrist, check out this YouTube tutorial on how to shorten the ends!

The threads are also coated in wax, which means you can wear them at the beach or in the shower if you're too lazy to remove them like I am! These bracelets definitely hold up over time, which is one of the many reasons I love them.

The Verdict: This month I was a little disappointed in my Pura Vida Bracelet Club experience since I ended up with a repeat pack. What are the odds that the one month my pack goes missing in the mail, it ends up being a sold out set? While the repeat pack is disappointing, I do appreciate that they credited my account so that I can pick something out for myself this month instead. Plus I now have a pack to gift to someone. I've been a long-time subscriber and this is the first time that I've had an experience like this, but reaching customer service was easy and I was really happy with how quickly they were able to get a new pack out to me after my first one went missing! For $14.95 for this subscription that provides great customer service and cute bracelets, I definitely feel like the value is there!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? I'm not sure if this particular pack is still available, but sign up by the 30th to get the September pack. From Pura Vida:

Orders ship within 4-5 days of purchase. Your card will be charged $14.95 + tax on the 7th of each month, and your pack will arrive around the 15th.

Value Breakdown: At $14.95 for this box, you're paying about $4.98 for each bracelet, but with this month's bonus bracelet, that brings it down to about $3.74 each!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I like this set SO much better than the sunflower set. I actually cancelled my September pack because I disliked the August pack so much.

The January pack is the best!! I signed up in April so I would definitly pick that set over the August set. I even love the March set too. I hope you didn’t can el September sunset they finally got it right this time.

I skipped August but you’re right January and September is awesome

That would be disappointing. I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years now and have (thankfully) never had my monthly pack lost in the mail. An order I placed from the site got “hung up” thanks to DHL for a couple of weeks once but eventually showed up…and then an ipsy mystery bag I ordered a couple of months ago got completely “lost” by DHL too. The tracking number showed absolutely no movement and I had to wait a month before they believed it was gone/incorrect to give me a refund. Not very impressed with DHL lately….although I never really paid attention if the monthly pack is shipped via them too or not.

I got sent a repeat pack, and I already had all the other options because I’ve been a monthly subscriber for awhile. I contacted customer service and they gave me the $15 credit as well. The only issue is that you have to spend a minimum of $10, so I would have to spend $10 to get the $15. I hope this doesn’t happen again or I’ll think about unsubscribing.
