Nowhere does it say that customization is only open for 24 hours. Not in a single email, not on their FAQ page, nowhere. So too bad for everyone who works a job on Mondays, if we don’t race home and log in before midnight, we’re screwed? I spent 4 days clicking around, wondering where this customization page is, only to find out here, in a blog post comment section that it was only open on Monday the 16th. THEY SENT THE EMAIL AT 12:06 PM ON MONDAY. So I had less than 12 hours to choose… okay great. Then they say to follow them on IG or FB to know the time customization opens. Well some of us don’t have an Instagram or Facebook… wow. So far I’m not impressed by BC customer service. Giving me Fab Fit Fun vibes (they timed me out after initial sign up so i couldn’t choose my item, which was the only thing i wanted, the foreo. they sent me a towel instead. unsubscribed immediately.) Don’t offer choice if you’re not going to actually honor it. Just keep everything random for everyone.

I never got to choose… did they send out the email already? they suck! they want us to pay more for have the customization and then half of us get a notification and the rest of us don’t. That is some BS! I am not happy to have to pay for something other companies are doing for free!! their CS department sucks even more…


I didn’t get to choose last time and even though I got to choose this time, I wish that we could’ve chOse one of the pallets. I see that Alot of ppl are saying the same thing. I don’t want it to seem like I’m always complaining BUT🙃 in this day and age of computers it shouldn’t be that hard to go by our beauty quiz. Boxycharm is great with the price and our products but ALOT more ppl would become a charmer if we could pick our colours


I got the email as soon as it was sent and went to choose and… nothing. Didn’t get to choose! Ugh!


They didn’t send a customization email as far as I know. They sent an email on Monday which mentioned (in one of the last paragraphs) that you could customize the box right then. If you got the “The BIGGEST announcement we have ever made!” email, that was it. It mentioned multiple times that you could customize, but it didn’t say that customization was already open until the last section.

Then from there you were supposed to log into your account and hunt down where to choose. Took me about 10 minutes to search through the site. I can’t find it anymore possibly because I already chose my product, but the choice link was on the left hand side under “the Box” I think. They may have closed it. So I think at least most people got the email, but they didn’t see the tiny part that said that choice was already open.

I knew there would be a problem. After the unacceptable way they handled the start of BoxyLuxe, I don’t trust BoxyCharm to act in a professional manner and I am seeing my lack of trust proven valid. I received the email four days ago and have never been able to make any choices. I have two accounts and wasn’t able to in either. This might be the final straw for me. I’m sick of their double standards. …yes, at the very least I’m going to cancel my second account. Depending on how good all the Ipsy upgrades are, I may cancel them both. I don’t need this crap in my life. BoxyCharm knows how to suck the fun out what is supposed to be something I do to relax.


Has anyone been able to figure out the add ons yet? I thought they were supposed to be able to be started
Today. I’ve looked for the shop button in the menu and can’t find it. Any update would be appreciated….

Add-ons don’t start til the 24th. The email they sent Monday says “Choice for October’s box opens TODAY, and September Add-Ons start Tuesday, September 24, 2019.” Looked all over their site and couldn’t find a date listed before I remembered I kept that email.

I choose TIS 🙂 glad we can at least pick one product, don’t use eyeshadow palettes b/c I can’t due to medical reasons, however great gift for Christmas or I donate to homeless shelters all my unused make up I will not utilize. So even without eyeshadow palette still their boxes are a great value. Did anyone choose a subscription 6 or 12 months to stay at $21.00 a box or did anyone choose to upgrade ?


I was thinking they could at least let us choose ‘warm’ or ‘cool’ shades. That would give us a greater chance of getting one that works for us.


I cannot find the Choice option anywhere on the website! Not on the top right side, not in the menu bar, no where. Is this happening to anyone else? Thanks


Happened to me too. I emailed them and they took my choice by email – try that!


It was for only 24 hrs and I think I chose on the 16 th or 18th

This is happening to me I can’t find it anywhere. I saw it a few days ago but when I clicked on it, it said it wasn’t opened yet. Now, I cant find it anywhere.


Does boxycharm allow you to skip a month or few ?

I see people saying that they’ll skip , but I thought you had to cancel and resub

I so agree with so many diffrent palette choices, and so many charmers that are above excited for these, they should of let us pick which one…sure I will get one that I will not use and that will be a big bummer. I want the sassy sienna, blushing berries, or the snow angels. At least I want 3 instead of just one…It gives me a better chance…So do NOT want the basic browns, and have so many mauves already. Maybe they are going to use our beauty profile, like our eye color to help choose a palette..Good luck and hope everyone gets a palette they will use

That was always my problem with Boxy.

If there was a variety of colors, I was always guaranteed something I couldn’t wear.


I would much rather chose which eyeshadow palette we get. Because everyone has different skin tones and some colors do not look good on certain people. But still very happy about getting a Dose of colors mini palette.


I have old lady skin (65 years old) so I need all the moisture I can get.

I can’t wait to see which palette I receive.


Where is the option for customization? I can’t find it on their website.


I had to email and got different choices and they said it was a “confusion” – are not all members part of the options. They didnt explain. I’m disappointed. Especially since eyeliners and efoliators are rated low in my profile (my skin shifted back to normal and I dont wanna mess with it) while face makeup are rated way up high. I would love to try that glass skin product.


Really, that is odd?! What choices did they give you??

I am wondering why they state that you need to sub by Sept 30 to lock in $21 per month price, if the price isn’t going up until Nov 1st?

I am skipping Sept Boxycharm but might re-sub in October and pre pay for a few months to get the lower rate locked in. I am just confused why they are saying to do it by Sept 30.

Why does it matter?


While I appreciate everything the companies do to improve and evolve the product, aren’t customization and choice gimmicks? The algorythm picks five items for you, they post the five items as your ‘choices’. You pick one, the other four stay the same and you get the same set you would have without going through the ‘picking’. Again, nothing wrong with it.


Did anyone receive a confirmation email for their choice? I never got one.


I picked my item yesterday (9/16) and I got my confirmation email today (a day later, 9/17).

You have to go on their website , and upper right hand corner of their page is option to choose which one of the two you want – hope this helps


I’ll just see wait and see what’s in my box. Over the next few months, I may receive a few extra things that I may not use, but will make great gifts.

I am currently interested in subscribing for this. Thinking of getting the annual subscription. If I understand it correctly, if I sign up in October I should still be able to get the $21/month right?


CS is super important to me in every aspect of my life even when it comes to beauty subs , and I must say after writing an extensive note that took time on my day off regarding how poorly Boxy does not follow our profiles , or reviews on products to create more of a personalized box . Their answer was vague and pretty much seemed like well you cancelled boxyluxe so your regular boxy was chosen at random that pretty much summed up their response back to me . Their CS has always been poor , but this response is unacceptable😡
They said staring next month you can pick one item .. yeah out of two lame ones .

It’s time too go , boxy must go because they never follow profiles , or look at what we rate 1-11, I seem to never get what I want even though always updating beauty quiz and reviewing products .

Only bloggers and influensters get best boxes 🤔

Cancelling boxy today do many reason long over due , but their CS is awful and that says so much about a company . My money spends anywhere ! And I even say this at a store if I receive poor CS , boxy is no different .



I actually cancelled after seeing the customization choices. I’m almost guaranteed to get a palette I won’t use because I prefer more natural makeup and neither of the choice options really interest me. I am glad to have SOME opportunity to choose though and will keep watching the spoilers so I can jump back in when the box is more to my taste.


Finally customizations! This month I got brow pencil (never use brow products) and eyeliner instead of the lipstick and I looove lipsticks. I also got eyeshadow pallet (fourth since April) I was really hoping I will get too faced or tarte face pallets instead. And another eyeshadow pallet is coming in October so 5 eyeshadow pallets in 7 months for me.

well boxycharm going up…so glad I cancelled this month…because ipsy is much better…products and picking out my products from my profile..i know they use…I got nothing from what I wanted from boxycharm…there just trying to be like ipsy…well it want work boxy…


It’s going up $4. Now if you want the premium box it will be $35. Where else can you go and get almost $100-$400 worth of makeup for $25-$50 worth of products. I get so tired of people getting upset because they are getting a damn good deal. You can always sale what you don’t like. On Facebook, Mercari and all kinds of other places. I make a lot of money selling products I don’t need


i agree I sell what I don’t like or I re-gift to fam and friends 🙂 I think boxy is the best sub out there…. they have super high end products which I LOVEEE


I think the Ipsy and BoxyCharm competition is exactly like iPhone and Android; one company does something, and then the other implements pretty much the exact same thing. Instead of just doing exactly what Ipsy is doing, BoxyCharm should have innovated in a different direction like outcompeting Ipsy’s pretty garbage shipping… I’m not their development team, but it just feels like a game of chase and catch up.

There is one thing I would like Boxy Charm to change. The profile you fill out. I went in to look at it and I wanted to select both Neutrals and Plums for the eye shadow colors and you can only make one selection. The only other choice is Wild Card which means you could get any of the bad pallets with the bright colors the teens like. I think it should let you make two or more selections in this category. On the pallet they are offering this time I would like either the neutral one or the mauves, but I don’t want to pick wild card because I think I would get that exotic one at the top with all of those bright colors that most people don’t want.



Think I’m getting burned out on beauty boxes. They all churn out the same stuff and I’ve already got 2 of the Tarte palettes and just got a third I the Sept box. It’s also getting overly time consuming to sort out the options and I just don’t care that much to do it. I’m also not going to stalk my email to look for “customize now” reminders…and then end up with the least desirable because I have better things to do.

Time to cancel for me.
