Nadine West July 2019 Review

Nadine West July 2019 - Booklet

This is the invoice that arrived with my package this month. The box was comped, so the prices of the items have been struck through, but you can see what the cost to keep each item would have been.

Nadine West July 2019 - Serenity Tree of Life Necklace 1Nadine West July 2019 - Serenity Tree of Life Necklace 2Nadine West July 2019 - Serenity Tree of Life Necklace 3

Serenity Tree of Life Necklace – Cost to Keep $27.99

Right off the bat, I love this necklace! It’s very boho and just my style! I have an affinity for the tree of life symbology, so I love having it as a pendant. I think the triple pendant look is pretty cool, and I especially like the mixed metals. The length is also great!

Nadine West July 2019 - Lotus Chimes Earrings 1Nadine West July 2019 - Lotus Chimes Earrings 2

Lotus Chimes Earrings – Cost to Keep $15.99

These earrings are not something I would have picked out for myself, but once I tried them on, I have to say I like them! They’re bigger than what I usually wear, but since I got my hair cut short, I have noticed that my earrings are usually not visible unless I pull my hair up. Not an issue with these! They are big and have a really cool pattern, plus they are super shiny!

Nadine West July 2019 - Vikky Scarf 1Nadine West July 2019 - Vikky Scarf 2

Vikky Scarf – Cost to Keep $16.99

This is a really pretty, lightweight lacey infinity scarf. I like it a lot! I just don’t wear scarves in the summer…  even super lightweight ones. It’s about 95 degrees right now and 90% humidity, so any added layers are completely out of the question. I can see this working somewhere that gets cool at night in the summer, but with all this humidity, it just never cools off here until October.

Nadine West July 2019 - Kenya Pants 1Nadine West July 2019 - Kenya Pants 2

Kenya Pants – Cost to Keep $11.99

When I first subscribed to Nadine West a couple of years ago, they routinely had inconsistent sizing issues, but that is really and truly not the case anymore. Having said that, these cotton broadcloth pants are just a wee bit too snug and fairly unflattering to try on. It’s too bad, too, because I love a breezy, wide-leg pair of pants. These are really cute and summery, too!

Nadine West July 2019 - Melissa Top 1Nadine West July 2019 - Melissa Top 2

Melissa Top – Cost to Keep $26.99

Wow. I am trying to think of something nice to say about this top, but it just looks really bad on me. I like the color, and I think the laced-up back is a good idea in theory, so I guess those are the positives. It’s an oddly thick cotton knit blend, almost like a sweatshirt, but a little thinner. The crew neck is too small and thus unflattering on my neck.  I guess it’s just a bad cut for me.

Nadine West July 2019 - Carleigh Top 1Nadine West July 2019 - Carleigh Top 2

Carleigh Top – Cost to Keep $24.49

There! That’s more like it! This is a cute top for summer! I like the length and the cut a lot; it’s a really good shape for me. It’s a poly/spandex blend, and the pattern is textured. It almost feels like puffy paint, remember that? The white portions of the print seem to have almost been painted on. It’s really unusual!

Nadine West July 2019 - Georgia Top

Georgia Top – Cost to Keep $25.99

Light heather gray is kind of a bad color for me in general, and this top is too long to be flattering on me. I am also kind of over the cold shoulder trend. Having said that, it’s still a cute top, and the cotton knit is super soft. It also has a nice open neckline.

Nadine West July 2019 - Midnight Capri Pants

Midnight Capri Pants – Cost to Keep $27.49

I would never in my life wear hot pink stretch pants, but these sure were fun to try on, y’all. Haha! I do like how vibrant they are, and I think they would look amazing on someone with nice legs. I don’t know why they are called capri pants because they are full length, and it even says full length on the invoice, so that’s odd. They are a nice and stretchy spandex/poly blend. They’re surprisingly comfortable!

Nadine West July 2019 - Tina Top 1Nadine West July 2019 - Tina Top 2

Tina Top –  Cost to Keep $24.49

I like the idea of this cotton knit top a lot! It is super soft and comfortable, too. Plus olive is always a nice color as it’s a great alternative to most neutrals. I think the tie at the side is also a really cute and stylish detail. I think this top is just too big and long and blousey on me.

The Verdict: I love Nadine West! My favorites this month are the necklace and the navy floral top – I know I will get a lot of use out of both. There were a few misses, but that is to be expected. I am also really happy they have started sending more pieces. More pieces mean more choices! I think if you want to treat yourself to a styling service on a budget, Nadine West is the way to go! Their pieces are not always the highest quality, but they are consistently the least expensive.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every package is individually curated to match your unique style, so no, every package will be different.

  1. Nadine West should be ashamed of the clothes they send people. I can find better clothes at the discount store for $10 dollars or less. The necklace I received broke before I could wear it. The shirt immediately had holes in them. I know they send this reviewer much better stuff, but I think MSA should reconsider even reviewing them.
They are really an all around rip-off.

  2. They must be sending you much better items than what I’ve been getting lately. I finally canceled after too many see through, cheap quality clothing items that are often the wrong size or just fit horribly. Never seems to be in season either, like there is no rhyme or reason to it. Not to mention very cheap jewelry items that they ask way too much for. They started off ok but these days I wouldn’t pay more than $10 (if that) for a lot of what I receive. Most of it feels like it will fall apart after a few washes.

  3. I feel the same. Very cheap clothes. They actually sent me a capri leggings with lace on the sides… :/ It was really bad!

  4. I saw your reviews and it made me want to try this box. I signed up and my first style came extremely quick. I was shocked! Even though I didn’t keep everything in the order, I have to admit that I was impressed. I’m a bigger girl and it is hard to find great things that fit. They sent me a dress that, on the first order, was a perfect hit for my style. And the fact that it was only $30 was amazing. I loved the jewelry being combined in the order too. A pair of silver hoop earrings was another perfect match. And a cute pair of running shorts that look like they were made for me was another win! The two items that didn’t work out were because I don’t like mid-calf leggings (they didn’t know that) and a shirt that I just couldn’t justify getting. I’m excited for my next order! Thanks for introducing me to this!

  5. I tried my best to like Nadine West. But every thing was poor quality and overpriced. I could purchase similar items with better quality at Discover or even Rainbow.

  6. Love the necklace you got! I finally canceled Nadine West after having subscribed off and on for a few years (skipping months in between). I’d signed up at the initial $6.50 rate and didn’t want to lose that by canceling! But the quality just seems to keep going downhill–a few items I got this month just seemed really cheap in quality. And I do keep having some sizing issues. So I finally asked to cancel via email. The person in charge was like, “But I can style your next one myself!” And I still declined. Just need to move on from it–would rather pay more for better-quality stuff from Stitch Fix (have Style Pass so no loss if nothing works!) and Wantable Style. Hope others have better luck with NW!

    • Thank you for sharing this information.

    • I just canceled for the same reason, quality has been very cheap. Sizing has also be awful. Sizes larger than what I wear being to small, or getting sent sizes that aren’t even what I listed as my size. Lots of sheer, cheap quality items and items that make no sense for the season. I’d rather pay more for a better quality sub that also knows how to customize. The jewelry has also been very cheap lately, but overpriced. I actually found a piece they sent me online for $5 and they wanted $15!
