August 2019 MoonBox “Shine” Review
The first card MoonBox provides is a helpful survey that allows you to take a moment to write down your intentions this moon cycle, plan how to take action on said intentions, and reflect on what to leave behind and learn from this phase.
MoonBox sends out an info guide every month describing the featured items included in the box as well as instructions on how they should be used. It also gives a general overview of the major cosmic events happening this month. This month has a New Moon in Leo, which brings forth Leo’s confident nature. It’s a great time to put love into the universe wherever you are, whether it is for yourself or with others. Time for new projects, ideas and creativity, letting that inner Leo shine!
Wooden Lunar Calendar/Collectible Crystal Card
Every month MoonBox includes a stylish wooden lunar calendar with the featured collectible crystal card on the back.
Soy Much Brighter Citrus Shine Candle – Listed Value $8 (Buy a 4oz candle for $12)
What a warm, summery fragrance! Soy Much Brighter uses vegan, cruelty-free and non-toxic soy wax in their candles, and this blend, in particular, smells phenomenal. The one I received is smaller than the one linked above, but for a tiny candle, it made the space around me smell pleasantly of tangerine and bergamot, two scents that should be paired together more often.
The Moon Journal Moon Goddess Altar Deck – Retail Value $24.99
Designed mostly for display, these cards are illustrated beautifully! In order to get the full scoop behind each goddess, you have to follow the link listed on the instructions above. The PDF file is only 7 pages long containing a brief history and several pearls of wisdom each goddess has to offer.
Silly Yogi Om Yoga Prayer Shawl/Scarf – Retail Value $7
I always associate Leos with the color yellow, so this scarf, for me, fits right in with this month’s bright and shining curation. Measuring at about 53 x 23 inches, this piece can be worn as a scarf or a shawl, and the sheer rayon fabric is perfectly light for summer; the pattern is not particularly my style, but I have a friend who will absolutely love it.
Asutra Soak Away the Day Bath Soak, 2 oz – Listed Value $3.75 (Buy a 16 oz jar for $24.95)
Soaking in the tub for me right now is the ultimate form of relaxation, add a shake of these to my water and I’m in heaven! Lemon and eucalyptus fill the air and add a softness to the water that only Dead Sea salts and essential oils can. Asutra makes claims of this soak fighting cellulite and stimulating weight loss, and I’m not sure how that works, but I can vouch for it making a nice, relaxing soak.
Citrine: Use for abundance, prosperity and perspective of plenty. Associated signs: Aquarius, Cancer, Scorpio
This beautiful rock works best in an office or work setting. It may help to keep you from overanalyzing or dredging up old wounds, assisting one to be more in the moment and truer to oneself. Just like a Leo, you may be able to move forward with more optimism and confidence!
These weren’t listed in any of the box descriptions, so I am not sure exactly what type of gems they are, but they are all very pretty! I missed getting more than one stone in my MoonBox, so I was excited to see these extras in my box this month.
The Verdict: I love the link between summer and citrus this month, and I think MoonBox did an excellent job curating this box for all the Leos out there. I really enjoyed the mix of self-care items, cards and crystals this month, which made the box totally worth the cost for me.
To Wrap Up:
