This box always comes with a booklet that describes all the items and how to use them, which is great for me because the majority of the packaging isn’t written in English! They also feature customer photos that use the hashtag #kirakiracrate to share on social media and include a great how-to on using the items in the box. This month’s theme is “Summertime Shine,” which sounds so inviting! Let’s see how good these beauty treats are, eh?

Push X Massager

I was really intrigued by this item - I like the non-cosmetic stuff, and I have seen a lot of cool massagers and things in this box. That being said, this first item wasn't quite a winner for me. It's a stiff plastic, and the shape feels awkward in my hand. It's supposed to be used on the neck, head, and shoulders, but it feels too hard for my forehead, and I can't seem to get the right grip on it to massage my neck.

Kira June 2019 Gloss pkg Kira June 2019 Gloss out

Triple Lip Gloss

Easily my favorite item in the entire box! I'm a complete lip gloss junkie, and this formula is exactly what I like: glossy, sparkly, and not sticky. This has a nice smell of strawberries, and smells a little like an artificial candy scent, but I don't really mind because it's pleasant. The sponge is a nice size and shape, and it's pocket-sized, which is putting it in my priority rotation!

Kira June 2019 Mist Kira June 2019 Mist back

Cool Body Mist

This spray is intended to refresh under the sun, but this really missed the mark for me! I hate to say it, but I absolutely can't stand the smell. I see a picture of grapes in the brochure for this, but it smells like the Dimetapp of my childhood; cloying, fake, and vaguely medicinal. Anyone who likes the scent could probably get a nice pick-me-up from putting this in the fridge and then using it to spritz, but sadly, it wasn't for me!

Kira June 2019 Mask front Kira June 2019 Mask back

Alface Crystal Moisture Mask

I'm a sucker for a good mask! I like the silver mask treatment and it had some powerhouse ingredients like amino acids and a variety of vitamins. This was extremely moisturizing, and my skin seemed a little brighter after using, so I'll deem this a success!

Kira June 2019 Salt front Kira June 2019 Salt back

Body Massage Salt

When summer's in full swing, I tend to try and focus on exfoliation. My skin can get kind of rough and dry, especially my feet, and salts like this are so helpful to keep things buffed and smooth. This can be used as scented bath salts, but I mixed these with coconut butter to make a paste and slathered it on before showering to give myself an extra polish. The salts had a nice light scent, and didn't feel harsh or drying.

Verdict: This month's box had some high points, but not liking two whole items in the box kind of puts a damper on things! No matter how I tried, I couldn't get that X massager to work, and that mist really didn't smell good to me. The massage salts and the lip gloss were definitely high points to this box, but I have to say, I was a little disappointed in the items overall. The mask to me didn't add much value to make up for the items that I didn't enjoy. That being said, trying new things is always fun, so I don't regret this box, but I do hope there are some good surprises in the months ahead!
