One side of the information card typically has a little more information about the snacks in the box and the other side has a workout for you to try. Sometimes there are also coupons and/or product literature, but not always.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Bare Bones Bone Broth Beef Top

Bare Bones Bone Broth Beef (3 servings) – Buy 16 servings for $29.99

The selling point here is that if you’d like to supplement with protein but not add a lot of carbs, this is one way to do it. Thus, this is friendly to diets like keto and paleo. The only drawback (assuming you are not vegetarian like I am) is that you are drinking broth, which is not something I tend to enjoy (there is vegetarian sipping broth as well so I have given the “drinking broth” thing a try). If you are really committed to a specialized diet, this may help fulfill certain nutrition requirements. I am guessing if you just want a little bit of broth for cooking, you could mix this up and not have to worry about an entire open container of liquid. Beware, though, that this has 20% of your daily sodium, which is kind of a lot for something that’s supposed to be a snack.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Gorilly Goods Hillside Pumpkin Seed and Kale TopFit Snack Box July 2019 - Gorilly Goods Hillside Pumpkin Seed and Kale 2 Top

Gorilly Goods Hillside Pumpkin Seed and Kale (1.3 oz) – Buy 12 for $30.99

This is a repeat item from a few months ago. My husband did not like this but I did, so I just didn’t share it with him this time around. I do tend to like kale snacks, though, whereas they are not his thing. Most of the flavor comes from the kale and spices and most of the texture from the pumpkin seeds and I happen to think it’s a good combination.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Hippeas Bohemian Barbecue Packed TopFit Snack Box July 2019 - Hippeas Bohemian Barbecue Top

Hippeas Bohemian Barbecue (1.5 oz) – Buy 12 bags for $19.99

These are puffed snacks with a chickpea base as well as a bit of rice and some added fiber. The nice thing here is, I don’t think I’ve ever received this flavor in a subscription box before. It’s a great change of pace from the usual “vegan white cheddar” which does not actually taste like cheese. I am typically a fan of just about any BBQ-flavored snack. (For what it’s worth, these are vegan, kosher, soy-free, nut-free, organic, and non-GMO.)

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - MCT Bar in Cocoa Top

MCT Bar in Cocoa (1.59 oz x 2) – Buy 12 bars for $39.99 (found here for $35.99)

MCT stands for “medium chain triglycerides” and MCT oils and such are trendy ingredients right now (MCT can be found in coconut and there are coconut ingredients in this product). This also has collagen, unfortunately, so I was unable to try it. My husband was my guinea pig as he is willing to eat this type of snack. He says that it is pretty similar to other collagen bars (they are popular at the moment) in that the texture is OK but it’s oily and you can never *quite* hide the underlying beef flavor.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Plotz Honey Nutters Packed TopFit Snack Box July 2019 - Plotz Honey Nutters Opened Top

Plotz Honey Nutters Original (4 oz) – Buy 4 bags for $24.99

This is a large bag, with 4 servings, which is nice, especially since these have come in Fit Snack Box in the past so I know that I like them. They have some puffed rice in them so they are not too dense, but mostly they are just kind of like a sweet peanut snack with texture that I really like (there are some larger peanut bits in there).

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Protein in French Vanilla Packed Top

Purely Inspired Organic Protein in French Vanilla (3 servings) – Buy a full-size 1.5 lb tub for $19.99

This is a plant-based protein powder. It seems familiar but I can’t say I’ve seen it in this subscription as it could be from any of a number of others. I typically don’t drink protein shakes as I find them a bit gritty (especially with plant-based proteins) but I do like to spoon some into a smoothie and this blended in my smoothie pretty well. The vanilla flavor was evident even after dilution into the smoothie, but it wasn’t cloying or too artificial or anything.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Sunflower Seeds Packed TopFit Snack Box July 2019 - Sunflower Seeds Opened Top

Chinook Seedery Original Small Batch Sunflower Seeds (1.5 oz) – Buy a case of 30 for $30

These are large, high-quality sunflower seeds. The only problem for me is that they are still in the shells. It takes a lot of work to get the kernels out of the shells and I don’t really have the patience to finish the bag that way. I did try these for the sake of the review and they were tasty, but I still feel like they’re a bit too much work.

Fit Snack Box July 2019 - Supernola Dragonfruit Lemon Zest Packed TopFit Snack Box July 2019 - Supernola Dragonfruit Lemon Zest Opended Top

Supernola Dragonfruit Lemon Zest (1.5 oz) – Buy 12 bags for $35.88

This is another repeat item but again, it is something I liked. I don’t know that I could identify the flavor of dragonfruit on its own – these are mostly just fruity. The pieces did fall apart some but it wasn’t too much trouble. This snack hits a lot of the common dietary restrictions including paleo, vegan, gluten-free, grain-free, and non-GMO, but unlike some other low-allergen snacks, this one was actually one of the better ones in terms of both flavor and texture.

Verdict: The July Fit Snack Box had 11 items (counting the protein powder and protein bars separately) for a total average value of $2.54 per item. Some of the items were repeats (Supernola, Gorilly Goods, Honey Nutters) but they happened to be repeats that I liked but don’t necessarily want to buy an entire case of, so that worked out. I was also happy to get a different flavor of Hippeas for once (you almost always see “vegan white cheddar” flavor in food sub boxes).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Boxes ship out around the 20th of the month so it is too late to get July’s box.

Value Breakdown: At $27.90 for this box, you are paying about $2.14 per individual item.
