EarFleek Silly and Fun August 2019 Review

EarFleek added a shop to their site, so you can purchase a specific pair if you like what you see. They are priced slightly higher, though. They also have a voting widget that you can access through your account—in it, you can swipe left or right on styles to show which looks you like most. Doing this should cut down on getting anything you dislike.

Also included were a pair of cards you can gift your friends for a free pair of earrings when they sign up for an account. If you have 5 friends who stay subscribed for 12 months, you get a free year of earrings!

As usual, the earrings were packaged in a small clear zip bag.

Cherry Me Home Earrings – Retail Value $12.99

Ok, these are adorable and I love the size. I don’t really wear many retro pieces, but something about cherries feels very ’50s to me and I think I could make something like a stud earring totally work, especially when mixed with other earrings or studs. I really like how they dangle off my lobe and I think the enamel job on such inexpensive studs is very well done and super shiny.

The Verdict: EarFleek was very cute this month. I find that the Silly and Fun choice is always either adorable or very, very odd. Happily, I came out on the adorable end this month and I am pleased with these cute little cherries.

    To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Since stylists choose the pair for you each month, it’s hard to say that you would get these specific earrings if you ordered today. However, monthly shipments go out on the 15th of each month—if you’re curious about this subscription, sign up soon to get the upcoming set!

Value Breakdown: For $3.49 + free shipping, I received a pair of earrings this month with a retail value of $12.99. That’s a discount of about 73%.

    1. I had the Boho and Minimalist subs for a while and though I sometimes got styles I didn’t particularly like (mostly in the Boho sub,) I enjoyed the sub overall. The earrings are definitely nickel-free and never fell apart on me. When a shipment got lost in the mail, EarFleek quickly sent out a replacement with no questions asked. For a cheap jewelry sub, this one really can’t be beat so long as you don’t mind surprises. It’s also a fun sub for kids and an inexpensive way to surprise an earring-loving friend.

      • I second this Carrie! I gifted a year to a stud loving friend and she absolutely loves getting a surprise each month in the mail. It was an easy way to send her a little monthly smile, especially since we live so far away now and rarely get to see each other.

    2. I’m a full-grown adult (61 years old) and love getting different studs. I have double-pierced ears and usually wear a dangling earring in the lower piercing and a stud in the upper one. I really like the ones like this that are a little more “fun” — being a grownup doesn’t necessarily mean giving up your sense of whimsy.

      • I feel like we have a similar earring aesthetic Mimi! I love pairing a “serious” pearl or minimal dangle with a super quirky or fun stud in the same lobe.

    3. Am I the only one who just cannot fathom paying for this subscription? For the cost of the product + shipping you can get 5 pairs of earrings from wish that are actually on trend at the moment. I guess this would be cute for a kid in middle school who wanted to have a random collection of studs but as an adult I just cannot picture it being worthwhile personally.

      • This sub is definitely not anything I’m interested in. But hey, to each their own. The box may or may not be targeting kids/teens (they do review other boxes for kids here). But adults who have a sense of whimsy also might like this. Adults who work with kids also might like wearing these sorts of things – eg if they’re a teacher of small kids or a pediatric doctor/nurse.

So no I don’t think it’s in any way odd or surprising that others would pay for this. I might think that if they were charging $25 for these earrings, but the cost is only $3.49 and shipping is free.

Many people (I imagine most of us sub box subscribers) like to get a surprise in the mail. Minimal investment/minimal risk, and a fun surprise? Nope, not odd at all.

      • Actually I’ve subbed for 2 years and think it’s well worth the cost to get a fun little surprise in the mail. Because they seem to take the Voting quiz into account, the ones I get have been classier than the cheaper looking enamel types. I’ve gotten mostly pearl and rose gold delicate styles which I love and get complimented on often. Plus there are often Groupon deals which make this sub even more affordable.
