August 2019 BuddhiBox Yoga Box Review

BuddhiBox always includes a card with a mantra or saying on it. On the reverse is this month's item list. Most of the products they include are cruelty-free, organic, vegan, or more than one!

Also included this month is a yoga pose card.

Flowered Life Kind Balm, 2 oz - Retail Value $12.49

I love a good balm. They are nourishing, feel luxurious, and absorb well on my dry, dry skin. I also find them more practical for my purse than some lotions. This balm has all the good stuff: olive oil, shea, coconut oil, and beeswax. It also contains rosemary, arnica, and white willow, all of which give it a delicate herbal scent. This product is also made in the US, which gives it bonus points in my book.

Authenticity Crystal Pair – Listed Value $10.00

FYI: The blue stone is slightly under 1.5 inches long, while the round is close to 1 inch long.

What a pretty pair! Sodalite is the handsome navy stone, and it is historically tied closely to creativity. The round prehnite is actually a little more of an unusual stone and is known for its unique color and is a healing and protective stone.

Artisan Crocheted Border Lightweight Scarf - Listed Value $25.00

Can you believe it is almost fall? Mind. Blown. That means scarf season is approaching. Here in Pittsburgh, we have had a few cool mornings and chilly evenings, so a lightweight scarf is a nice thing to have handy. This one is a little narrow for my personal taste, but it is very cute. I like the crinkly fabric and crochet edges and the colors are pretty on point for my wardrobe.

I actually had to wear a sweater this morning!

BloomNow Luxury Flower Essence, 30 ml - Retail Value $39.00

Flower essences are pretty trendy right now, though I must admit I don't know if there is anything scientific happening there. I mean, I adore flowers in most aspects of my life, so I might as well imbibe their essences too, right? I will admit that the backstory of this company is rather compelling, and even regardless of that, I love the branding and general vibe. I will certainly try a few drops of these each day and see what happens!

Buddha Tealight - Listed Value $5.00

This votive is really pretty. I would personally be uncomfortable burning a Buddha shaped candle so I plan on keeping this one near my crystal collection, unlit.

The Verdict: I rather liked my BuddhiBox Yoga Box this month. The balm was a great addition, and I like the idea of the flower essences. Both of the crystals were quite lovely, and even the scarf was one I would wear often, especially since we are in that weird seasonal transition where weather is unpredictable at best. I could see how someone who didn't like the flower essences could feel that this was another light month value-wise, but I am personally intrigued enough to be pleased.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, you will receive the September box. Order by the 8th of the month to receive that month's box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $34.95 + $5 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items (minus the course or the drawstring pouch) in the box has an average cost of $7.99.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Flower essences are incredibly mood boosting and some are super calming. Part of the reason you like fragrances is due to the effect they have on your nervous system. Some almost give you a euphoric feeling, others-like lavender, chamomile etc calm you and can put you to sleep. I have been using a local to me company called Nectar Essences for years. Nothing stops a panic attack quite like their de-stress blend [except prescription medication which I only use as a last resort.] You’ve probably been enjoying the “science” behind flowers for years without realizing it! It’s good stuff!
