Bombay & Cedar "Elevate" Review
The box comes with a booklet of information that lists out the products and highlights some of the brands. The theme this month is "Elevate."
Lime Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $14.00
Peppermint Essential Oil, 10 ml - Listed Value $14.00
I love a blend of lime and mint because it kind of reminds me of an aromatherapy mojito! The peppermint is really strong so if you want to create this effect, use a lot less of it than the lime.
Both of these oils are also lovely on their own, or both mixed with lavender if you want a floral twist.
Stretch Island Strawberry Fruit Leather - Listed Value $0.79 (Buy 8 for $3.66)
I really enjoy fruit leathers. This one was delicious and a perfect afternoon snack, enjoyed at my desk as I explored the rest of this box. It was sweet enough to totally kick a midday sugar craving.
EvioSkin Rejuvenating Mask, 1.4 fl oz - Retail Value $22.00
There is something about black packaging on skincare that makes me feel very edgy and cool. (I'm not.) This cream is the palest green and contains Cannabis Sativa seed oil. You can use it as a mask or just as a daily moisturizer, which I preferred over the mask route. It smells so clean and just a wee bit salty. My skin loved it when I used it as a midday moisturizer on a makeup-free day and I personally found it light enough to be used as a day cream if you desire!
Compendium "She Creates" Journal – Retail Value $16.50
I don't journal and I am pretty picky when it comes to sketchbooks. Despite all that, I liked this one immediately! It just feels good in your hands and the inside is a chaotic mix of plain pages, painted elements, vellum pages with quotes, lined pages, and dotted grid pages. This eclectic mix really speaks to my disorganized thought process and though there is not a ton of rhyme or reason, I like books like this that combine different page layout because sometimes I want to sketch, sometimes I need lines to make lists or collect thoughts, and I enjoy the inspirational abstract painted pages.
Pearly Wipes Compact - Listed Value $10.95 (Buy a 2 pack for $21.90)
I drink a ton of carbonated water in the summer so I don't worry about staining. Fall and winter are totally different, as at the sign of the first chilly day I instantly transform to a tea-drinking queen. I used to whiten my teeth with a mold that came from my dentist but I found that it got super expensive pretty quickly. These little wipes in their cute compact are something new to try! Simply wipe your teeth with one of the included pads after your beverage of choice to prevent staining. I used one and did notice a tint left on the cloth when I was done and my teeth did feel instantly smoother, which was odd. I plan on keeping these in my purse this fall to prevent yellowing from my beloved Earl Grey brews.
Neuro Mints - Listed Value $3.50 (Buy 6 packs for $21.00, on sale for $18.90)
I love caffeine. Red Bull is generally my go-to, but I have been trying to cut back. These mints have 40 g of caffeine, which is a little less than half of a cup of coffee. I generally prefer more of a kick but the thing I couldn't get past on these mints was the distinct caffeine taste. I couldn't get through the entirety of one of them because of this.
BKIND Bamboo Hairbrush - Retail Value $16.52
This is my type of brush! I have really thick and unruly hair with some texture. I don't brush my hair often because I like it wild, but when I do I need a hefty brush. My hair has quite literally broken brushes before! This one has a bamboo handle, bamboo bristles, and is completely biodegradable.
Spa Room Shower Spray - Retail Value $8.00
FYI: There were some issues with the nozzle on this item for some subscribers. Read more about this here!
I already knew I would love this product because I love the combination of citrus+showers. Have any of you ever eaten an orange in the shower? It is a THING. While my husband thinks I am insane, I love eating oranges in the shower. It's like the straightedge version of a shower beer, IMO. If you haven't tried it, you should. If you think it is insane and gross (WRONG) this is a spray that mimics the scent, a fresh explosion of orange and lemon. Have you ever had a shower orange? Let me know your thoughts!
Magnolia Home "Dwell" Candle - Retail Value $18.00 (Currently on sale for $14.40!)
There were a few different scent options of this candle and I was really excited to get the one I had my fingers crossed over. The "Dwell" scent is a mix of eucalyptus, pepper, lavender, and patchouli. Basically, it is a dream. This candle burns evenly and has a nice scent output. I also liked the little paper bag the glass was wrapped in.
LOF Oversized Scarf - Listed Value $20.00
Finally, our last item is a lightweight oversized scarf. It is color-blocked with a peachy pink shade and a white section embellished with black and metallic gold threading. I tend to wear similar scarves a lot in the fall months and I really like these colors a lot. It is about 36 inches x 80 inches, making it perfect for burrowing.
Verdict: Once again, I adored my Bombay & Cedar box. The only dud would be the mints, a loss I am more than willing to overlook, especially since it was one of the smaller/less valuable items. I adore my new journal and hairbrush. I was on the hunt for these items anyways, so they came at a great time. I also really like the face mask for its soft finish and fresh scent. The candle was lovely and what a surprise to get the scent I was wanting! The scarf and shower mist will both be put to good use. This box is one of my faves because the items always feel really thoughtfully chosen and the quality is consistently good.
To Wrap Up:
