Nadine West June 2019 Review
This is the invoice that arrived with my package this month. The box was comped, so the prices of the items have been struck through, but you can see what the cost to keep each item would have been.
Disk Triple Strand Round Necklace – Cost to Keep $27.99
Right off the bat, I love this necklace! It reminds me of the little coins on belly dancers’ scarves. It’s very boho and just my style! The little metal coins are so cute and delicate, and I love that there are three strands.
Hammered Drops Earrings – Cost to Keep $16.99
These metal earrings are not something I would have picked out for myself, but once I tried them on, I have to say I kind of like them! They are very thin and flat, so they are not too heavy. But, what I like most about them is that they are very shiny and big enough to be seen under my hair. Cute!
Anja Scarf – Cost to Keep $14.99
This is a really pretty, lightweight chiffon scarf. My husband really likes it! I like it too, but it is too hot to wear any kind of scarf here in Georgia until at least October. And even then, it’s not really a fall scarf. I would need to hold onto it until next spring!
Amie Top – Cost to Keep $30.49
What an unusual top! It’s very close to being a plain cotton knit tee with light blue and white horizontal stripes, but check out those sleeves! I don’t know how I feel about ruffled sleeves on a tee. It’s different, I’ll say that for sure! Sleeves aside, the top is comfortable and has a pretty good cut. I just keep looking at it and thinking about what it would look like without the ruffled sleeves…
All Meshed Up Leggings – Cost to Keep $33.99
To be clear, I would not wear these leggings with this top, haha! But, I always try to wear everything from a styling box together as much as possible when modeling the garments. These leggings are pretty cool! They sort of have that moto feel with all the seaming everywhere, and the mesh panels are cool. Mesh paneled leggings usually look terrible on me, but these look pretty good. They are not very supportive, but they are definitely comfortable. Fun!
Esperanza Top – Cost to Keep $24.49
This is a cute top for summer! I like the length and the cut a lot; it’s a really good shape for me. It’s a poly/spandex blend, and the pattern is textured. It almost feels like puffy paint, remember that? The white portions of the print seem to have almost been painted on. It’s really unusual!
Mallory Top – Cost to Keep $24.49
I am not in love with the color of this cotton knit tunic, but I love pretty much everything else about it. It’s a fantastic length to wear with leggings, and the cut is great in that it floats away from the body rather than hugging it. The curved hem is also flattering. I love the button detail, too!
Strolling Leggings – Cost to Keep $25.99
These leggings are pretty basic and cute. They have a natural fiber feel to them despite a synthetic content. They do not have much compression, but they are comfortable. I really like the arrow print down the sides! They make the leggings look kind of sporty, but not overly so. I think I will actually get a lot of use out of these.
Jackie Top – Cost to Keep $28.49
This chiffon top is also really cute, but it’s a tad bit small toward the hips. I love the print and the tabbed sleeves, though!
Verla Dress – Cost to Keep $29.99
I actually really like the crazy bohemian print and color scheme on this dress! It’s so festive and fun! Otherwise, though, this dress is a big miss for me. It’s very body-conscious, and I’m not into that at all (which is why I am modeling it on the dress form instead of my body). It seems like it is maybe 4-6 sizes too small, but it’s really stretchy, so I’m guessing that’s how it’s supposed to be. I also would prefer a more open neckline.
The other problem is that it came with this hole in the side seam. To be fair, this is the first time I have ever received damaged merchandise from Nadine West, but it’s still disappointing. Fortunately, I know Nadine West‘s customer service is great and that they would make it right if I were a regular subscriber.
The Verdict: I love Nadine West! My favorites this month are the necklace and the pink tunic – I know I will get a lot of use out of both. There were a few misses, but that is to be expected. I am also really happy they have started sending more pieces. More pieces mean more choices! I think if you want to treat yourself to a styling service on a budget, Nadine West is the way to go! Their pieces are not always the highest quality, but they are consistently the least expensive.
