JoahBox is a monthly Korean Beauty subscription of 5 to 7 full-size K-beauty products shipped directly from Seoul, South Korea. Each box will have up to $100.00 retail value and includes both makeup and skincare. It's always fun to discover new K-Beauty and since I've been getting this subscription for a while, I've come to know some of the brands and which products I love. The box is $35.95 per month and has free shipping!

JoahBox June 2019 Review

When you first subscribe to JoahBox, there are four drop-down menus to customize your experience:

You will choose your birth month, skin tone (ranging from "very fair" to "dark brown"), your skin type, and if you'd prefer to receive more skincare, makeup, or both.

There's an info booklet with each delivery that goes over the included items and how to use them. It's best to hold onto this since a lot of the packaging is in Korean only. You'll also get a collectible playing card each month.

The Plant Base Time Stop Collagen Ampoule, 0.68 oz. - Retail Value $29.00

I'm already familiar with Korean brand The Plant Base because of the hyaluronic acid they included back in January, so I'm pumped for this collagen serum. It has the same giant dropper cap that I love from their other products but this one is supposed to help stop (the look of) aging, something we all tend to do. The consistency of this slightly amber-tinted serum is a bit dewy and feels extremely lubricating when spreading on my skin. There is some subtle tackiness, but it absorbs after a few moments and helps my skin look fresh and ever-so-taut. I do have a lot of serums right now, so I promised my mom that I'd pass this on to her and she was pretty excited to try it.

RiRe Air-Fit Velvet Lipstick - Retail Value $7.11 (Listed Retail Value $17.50)

"Velvet" is actually a pretty good way to describe this lipstick. It's really light and creamy but I don't think it has quite the staying power it boasts. The color is really great- a super nice cherry red and it feels super moisturizing on without any dry feeling at all that some matte lipsticks have. I received the L01 version but there were three variations available. I'm quite happy with this one and love the sleek tube it comes in.

I'm Sorry For My Skin Galactomyces Drylock Mask - Retail Value $5.50 (Listed Retail Value $10.00)

I couldn't help but giggle a little at the brand name of this mask. Do they feel bad for skin or are they apologizing for the state of it? Either way, this mask smelled fantastic with hints of lavender which I found really relaxing while wearing. I wasn't familiar with galactomyces but the info booklet explains that they're a type of fungus that helps nourish and revitalize the skin. In addition, this also contains anti-aging care which fits with the "skin" theme this month. I've included a horrifying photo of me IN the mask as well since it's different than the usual sheet mask. It has a cool black geometric pattern clung to my face quite well, albeit being a little long. This bad boy was dripping with serum, so I did have to blot it after taking it off. After massaging a lot of it in, it did feel slightly sticky which many masks do, so it wasn't really my favorite.

Missha Length Boost Cara Line Friends Edition - Retail Value $9.16 (Found here for $8.24)

Well, this is just the cutest mascara that ever was. It's a collaboration with Line Friends and features one of their cute bear characters, Choco. In addition to being pink and having Choco on it, it also comes with stickers you can use to decorate the mascara! The plastic part shaped like Choco that pops out of the top of the packaging can be removed and used as a bookmark too! So cute! There are two versions available for this mascara and I received the "length" option. The wand has quite a full brush and really helps lengthen my eyelashes! Cute AND functional = my type of makeup!

Farm Stay Aloe Vera Moisturizing Soothing Gel, 3.38 oz. - Listed Retail Value $3.00

As I mentioned in another review this month, my roommate got some bad sunburn while on vacation and so I ended up giving this to him before he headed to the midwest for the summer. He simply told me that it was "soothing" and that he liked it, so I guess that's as good of a review it can get! And since it comes in a little pouch instead of a hard plastic bottle, so it will take up less space in a landfill once it's used up. That's nice to know!

Verdict:  JoahBox was pretty awesome this month! I am obsessed with the mascara and quite like the lipstick as well. The aloe came just in time for my roommate's sunburn and I'm happy to hook my mom up with some collagen serum! Even the sheet mask was fun although it didn't change my life. The five products have a retail value of $53.77 which just shy of $20 more than the cost of the box, so it's a great way to discover new K-beauty!

I love that you included a pic of you wearing the mask! I always wish I could see them on…

In other news, the boxycharm review link isn’t working. Not sure where else to report it.

Good to hear that you appreciated the mask photo! I don’t usually post one of it on unless it’s especially different than the usual. Don’t miss the upcoming SlutBox review if you want to see more… 😉

Sorry I missed your note about Boxycharm but it does seem to be working now!
