Gwynnie Bee June 2019 Review
This review is of the one item at a time for three items that I received June 13th, 2019:
Cap Sleeve Bubble Crepe Floral Dress with Side Tie by Robbie Bee Size 20w—Retail Value $16 (on sale for $8)
This dress is a mood, a vacation mood! I love the vivid, almost neon shades on this white-and-black floral design. The fabric has a fair amount of stretch and is rather comfortable to wear. Initially, I thought the cut was boxy, ’til I realized I did not tie the faux wrap tie at the side. Once I tied it, I was surprised by how much definition it gave to my shape. This dress is ideal for a special event like a summer wedding or baby shower, but will also work well for a work ensemble. You will bring the sunshine to the office in this number! I styled the dress with vivid highlighter yellow jellies and classic silver hoops. Add an aqua cardigan when it gets cooler at night to truly make the dress pop!
High Neckline Midi Floral Dress by ModCloth Size 2x—Retail Value $28.50
I appreciate the vintage-inspired aesthetic that ModCloth is so well known for. I always get excited to see ModCloth brand items up for grabs, so I was especially excited to try this dress out! The color palette is amazing; I love the cobalt blue with mauve and orange against it. The ruffled yoke gives it even more of that retro look that I love as well. The dress is rather flowy and light. My only complaint is the cut on the chest went a bit more in and my bra kept peeping out. The fit otherwise was great. This piece could easily be worn in warm months with a pair of sandals, a large rimmed hat, and oversized round sunglasses or in the fall with brown ankle booties and a clay-colored, faux suede, fringed jacket.
Poised Perspective Shirt Dress by ModCloth Size 2x—Retail Value $41
Speaking of killer retro items, I was pleased to receive this dress as well! It is another ModCloth piece and one I have been eyeing up since last summer! My friend, Jamie, owns this dress and she made it look absolutely amazing styled with white sneakers and a beret. I opted to bring out the western vibes from this dress by pairing it with burgundy cowboy boots. I was concerned with it being a long sleeved piece, but our weather was so mild this June that I easily could wear this dress comfortably. I can picture wearing this in the fall with the same cowboy boots and a faux leather biker jacket.
The Verdict: Gwynnie Bee continues to be one of my favorite subscription boxes. I love that I can not only try on the clothes, but I can actually wear them through this service. It allows me to try out a lot of trends and brands I may not have otherwise! I always recommend the service to friends starting out new office jobs or those in between sizes. It is a great option if you don’t have the desire to invest in a whole new wardrobe, which could cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars. Plus, Gwynnie Bee has an outlet where you can purchase extremely discounted pieces that have been retired from the rental service. They also offer a Market Place where you can purchase accessories, lingerie, and workout gear! I just can’t find any reasons not to try Gwynnie Bee, especially with the free first month trial they offer! What are you waiting for, sign up for Gwynnie Bee now!
To Wrap Up:
Value Breakdown: Gwynnie Bee’s costs range depending on your subscription and how many items you are sent at a time. I have the $95 three item at a time plan. This includes free shipping and returns. I can get as many pieces as I like monthly, as long as I return each item first. I got three items this month, but I could get several pieces sent to me in a month’s time if I return each piece after wearing promptly. The three items total up to $85.50, which is $9.50 less than my monthly subscription fee! Imagine the value if I had returned these pieces and received even more!
