Nomadix Travel Lite Towel, Great Smoky Mountains - Retail Value $39.95 (Grand Canyon colorway found here)

This travel towel was made from recycled plastic bottles. Amazing! I have a small hand towel version of this that I keep in my frame pack for quick wipe-ups on backpacking trips, but I've never experienced a full-size one in all its glory. To be honest, it isn't the most appealing material to wrap your body in, but it truly is quite absorbent so it does the trick in situations when lugging a regular beach towel around doesn't make sense.

I love the pattern!

All Good SPF 50+ Water Resistant Zinc Sunscreen Butter, 1 oz. - Retail Value $9.99

I received an All Good brand lip balm in my Christmas stocking a few years back and it has been my family's go-to for anything that needs a little hydration or healing or lovin'. Really great product. I'm thrilled to receive this SPF 50 balm from a brand I already know I love! At first I wasn't sure how I felt about the tint, as it seemed a little limiting in terms of who might use it, but then I realized it's probably more to mask the white glow of zinc oxide than anything else. And truly, it doesn't show up looking like lipstick or anything. Good to protect a part of the face that's so exposed!

Ecovessel Stainless Steel Straws with Silicone Tips - Retail Value $9.95

So pumped about these! They're actually the second set of reusable straws I've received in a subscription box this month, which makes me so glad that I held off on buying my own despite really wanting to get my hands on some for years. I like that these ones have the color-coded silicone tips so you can tell them apart.

I'm also pleased that they came with a cleaner. It's really satisfying to push into the straws—the fit is tight enough that it does a thorough job.

Verdict: It was a great month for Cairn! First off, I love that they updated their packaging to something even more eco-friendly. But also I feel as though I'll get good use out of all three products included. They skipped the trail snack this month, and while I do enjoy trying new bars and things, I found I didn't miss it.

This box costs $29.95, which includes free shipping, and the contents add up to $59.93. I'm always happy with the deal I get from Cairn!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Based on their subscription model, your items may vary based on your survey responses and boxes you have received in the past.

Check out our review of the Hammock Collection welcome box to see what will be included.

Value Breakdown: This box cost $29.95 + free US shipping, but I estimate it contained $59.93 worth of product. Here’s what you are paying approximately per item:

  • Nomadix Towel: $19.98
  • All Good Tinted Sunscreen: $4.99
  • Ecovessel Straws: $4.97

Alternatively, each of the 3 items has an average cost of $9.98.

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

Great review, Christen! I am loving this box! Questions… 1) If I signed up today, would I receive this box? I subscribed once before and cancelled so that’s my status. 2) How do you like the feel of the towel? Soft? Do you have a microfiber towel to compare? 3) Is the sunscreen easy to spread? Sorry for many questions, but thank you!!

Hi Kay, thanks for your comment and I’m sorry for the delay! I believe each box looks a little different based on the preferences you fill out in your profile, so you would probably receive a slightly different box.

Compared to a microfiber towel, this one has a finer feel to its material. I usually find that microfiber almost has a slight “stickiness” to it, but this one is more smooth. Hope that helps!

Finally, the sunscreen is a little stiff at first, but if you warm it up by rubbing your finger in it for maybe 30 seconds or so, it ends up spreading easily. 🙂

The geek inside me wants to buy the towel solely for a “Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” reference lol
