Sooni Pouch May 2019 Review
Here is the info sheet for the box.
On the back is a note that my box was packed by Crystal. There was a lot of overlap between the Sooni Mini Pouch and the Sooni Pouch this month. First up, let’s look at all of the items that came in both boxes:
Etude House Silk Scarf Conditioner, 2 oz – Retail Value $2.60
We received the shampoo from this line in a previous pouch, and I am happy to now have the set. This wasn’t too heavy so it should work well for thin and fine hair, and it still gave my curls most of the moisture I needed (I have incredibly dry hair).
Dewytree Blackhead Out Nose Patches, 1 patch – Retail Value $1.00
These nose patches are made with volcanic ash and charcoal extract to draw out impurities and help with sebum. I wasn’t that impressed with these because when using they left a black residue on my nose even though it appeared the mask had dried fully, but it did clear some stuff out so I can’t complain too much.
Moksha Dear Mugwort Mask – Retail Value $3.00
This is a really great sheet mask- it’s affordable, it’s soothing, and my skin loves it! Mugwort is a plant known in Asia for its anti-inflammatory properties, and it is great for soothing acne or skin irritants. This mask has a great ingredients list with three of the top five being glycerin, hyaluronic acid, and mugwort extract. It fit my face well, and my skin felt plump and happy after wearing.
The History of Whoo Qi Jin Cream (buy the 1.7 oz version for $150)
This box usually features a few foil samples, but I am happy the brand for them this month is The History of Whoo- they’re a well-known luxe K-beauty brand with some insanely gorgeous packaging. To be honest, while it is fun to try out such a luxe product, I am not sure the ingredients list justifies the insanely high price tag. I’ll definitely be hanging on to these samples for the next time I am traveling, though!
Now let’s take a look at the items that only came in the Sooni Pouch!
Wideep Daily All Care Foam Cleanser
Sometimes foaming cleansers can be drying to my already dry skin, and that was my experience with this cleanser. If you have combo or oily skin, though, this would be a good option- it was gentle and removed the traces of makeup and sunscreen I still had on my face.
Jant Blanc Balancing Skin Green Tea Cream
Jant Blanc is a brand that appears often in Sooni Pouch, and it is difficult to find online. I love green tea in moisturizers, and this one, in particular, spread out and blended into my skin with ease. My skin is on the dry side, so on its own, this wouldn’t be enough moisture for my skin- but it should work well if you have combo or oily skin!
TONYMOLY Pro Clean Cleansing Tissues – Retail Value $10.oo
These cleansing wipes work very well- I find that I am able to take off a full face, including mascara, with just one wipe. That’s important when it is very late at night and you just want to climb into bed!
A’Pieu Pomegranate Vinegar Mask – Retail Value $1.00
A’Pieu makes fun sheet masks, and this one was no exception. It combines pomegranate extract with apple cider vinegar, and my face felt refreshed after relaxing with this for twenty minutes.
Dewytree Trehalose Aqua Treatment Mask – Retail Value $5.00
This sheet mask combines trehalose and ceramides to provide deep nourishment to dry skin affected by the environment. There is a lot of pollution in Baton Rouge due to all of the refineries, and this was very soothing to wear after a long day.
The Verdict: I didn’t think this was a bad box from Sooni Pouch, but the value felt a little light. Of course, the products I couldn’t find online could have a high retail value in Korea, and that is just a gamble you take when you subscribe to this box. Sooni Pouch promises a value of over $100 in this box, and I don’t know if they met that. That being said, I think I got a fair value for the $35.99 price tag, which includes free US shipping.
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you sign up today? No, you’d get the July box.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $35.99 + free US shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $4.
