Nosejoy May 2019 "In Bloom" Review
Nosejoy usually sends a welcome card with a note from the sub's curator and an info slip that gives a little description of each item in your box. I love that Emily's note this month gives us a little peek into her life and a chance to relate to all she has going on. This month she sings the glories of having fresh flowers in the house—something that I, too, love. This month's floral theme is in that spirit!
Spongelle Daisy Body Wash Infused Buffer — Retail Value $12.00
Long-time subscribers and followers of Nosejoy will be familiar with Spongelle's buffers, and I'm pretty sure we all universally love them! I have received one in a Nosejoy box before and my eyes were open to a world of blissful showering habits. This thing is an amazingly aromatic shower sponge that's infused with body wash, so it suds up every time you use it. It does have a shelf life—its body wash does eventually run out so it doesn't last forever—but I found that it lasted longer than I expected in my previous experience. I think commenters said it should last me a few weeks but it actually lasted a few months. I'm not a daily showerer, so perhaps it just depends on how often you use it. Even once the scent faded, it didn't smell mildewy to me or anything. I eventually just threw it away because I felt I had gotten good use of it and it was time to start fresh. I am so thrilled to have another one with a beautiful rose scent!
Illume Sugared Blossom Mini Diffuser — Retail Value $14
Every time I walk into the My Subscription Addiction office, I'm so taken by a beautiful scent, and Emily always points to a diffuser on the windowsill. I've never owned one but always been curious about them, so I'm grateful to Nosejoy for sending along my first! True to what the packaging promises, this contraption took about 24 hours to start emanating a scent. I got it all set up as you see here, put it on my windowsill, and forgot about it until the next day. It took me by surprise when I came downstairs. I don't know that I would have selected this sugared blossom aroma for myself were I shopping in a store, but it's a lovely one to have in my living room, and my husband commented on liking it without my asking!
Quick note: this diffuser came extremely well-packaged. The reeds were tightly secured in their plastic covering and the bottle of scent had a protective stopper under the lid so it wouldn't leak. Actually, I had a really tricky time getting the stopper out and the reeds unwrapped, but I'd rather that than having had a leak in transit!
Blossom Beauty Lavender Cuticle Oil — Listed Value $7.00 (Found here for $6.00)
Cuticle oil is not something that was on my radar before receiving this bottle. It has a lovely lavender smell and is so festive with its little flowers floating around. It's thin and runny, sort of like essential oil would be. I didn't actually give it a try because I didn't want my fingers to get oily since I'm living the life of a squirmy-baby-chaser—I'll probably end up gifting it to a friend who takes better care of her nails!
Skin Apothetique Iris Soy Body Whip, 2 oz — Retail Value $5.00
This whipped soy body lotion claims to do it all! Brighten the skin, boost collagen, and improve skin tone and texture—wow! I don't usually use creams and lotions on my face if the packaging doesn't specifically say it's meant for that, but this stuff sort of implies that use with its website's suggestion of anti-aging properties. I simply rubbed it on my hands and it was thick and hydrating!
Verdict: I loved the variety of products in this month's Nosejoy box! I was excited by the sponge, pleasantly surprised by the diffuser, curious about the cuticle oil, and enjoyed the body whip. It was a fun selection! Value-wise, this month's items just exceeded the cost of the box (which is $34.95 with free shipping) at $37.00. Not the best value this box has offered, but not bad!
