And just like Ipsy, with each box you’ll receive a new makeup bag:

Instead of the typical pouch, this month's bag offering is a really pretty and well made rollup! Made of metallic faux leather, it is perfect for a smaller brush collection, or even jewelry. I love that they were extra creative this month.

Now, on to the items!

Kiehl's Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energizing Radiance Masque, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $6.18 (Buy a full size 3.4 oz for $42.00)

This is a clay based, which is usually a no-go for my dry skin, but I have found that Kiehl's brand masks can be more gentle than I expect. This one certainly was, and it smelled nice and herbal too. It hs a mix of turmeric and cranberry, which gives it a lovely golden color. I think the little lumps are cranberries? Those little lumps are actually my only complaint about this mask because they are really difficult to wash off. Otherwise, this mask wasn't super drying and let my skin feeling really soft with a smoother and improved texture.

Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil, 5 ml - Estimated Value $13.33 (Buy a full size 15 ml for $40.00)

I own this oil already and love it for a few different reasons! The first is that I can apply it before most night creams without the two formulas interacting in a negative way. Sometimes when you mix oils and creams they get that gross pilly nonsense that no one feels good about! This oil absorbs into my skin pretty quickly and then my cream just lays on top beautifully. That is a big win for me personally! Second, it is full of vitamin C, an anti-aging power player because it promotes collagen turnover. This oil also smells really nice too, something like citrus and jasmine.

Lancôme Advanced Génifique Yeux Youth Activating Smoothing Eye Cream, 0.2 oz - Estimated Value $26.80 (Buy a full size 0.5 oz for $67.00)

FYI: This was our item substitution!

I think eye creams are really important because that thinner skin sometimes needs a more gentle formula than the rest of your face. This formula is somewhere between a gel and a ream, and it is cooling and lightweight. It is very easy to apply under your eye and a little goes a long way. I noticed less puffiness the next morning after usage and an overall improvement in the firmness under my eyes. I think I might pop it in the fridge before I use it tonight for an extra cooling treat!

Elizabeth Arden Retinol Ceramide Capsules, 7 count - Estimated Value $11.20 (buy 30 for $48.00)

Why are these little pods so cute? Each is filled with a serum that has much more of a gel texture than a liquid. A little goes a long way and I found that if I was very careful I could probably get two uses per capsule, turning this week supply into two weeks. This is a heavier serum and it didn't absorb right away. That was just fine with me since I apply a night cream over any serum and the two end up blending together anyways.  The formula is a combo of retinol and ceramides, both of which are necessary for a well-rounded anti-aging regimen.

Ahava Mineral Body Lotion, 1.3 fl oz  - Estimated Value $4.44 (buy a full size 8.5 oz for $29.00)

I have gotten this sample a few times before and while I love the texture and how it makes my skin feel, I really dislike the scent. It competes with my perfume and smells stuffy to me. Aside from that complaint, this is pretty much the perfect size for a purse lotion, and if you end up liking the scent your hands will be very smooth and happy!

Foot Petals Fancy Feet by Ball of Foot and Arch Gel Cushions, 1 pair - Retail Value $4.98

This is probably the most practical item I have ever gotten in this subscription. I am a-ok with it! I always have a pair of heels that are just ALMOST comfortable, and these gel cushioned foot pads really help me last longer on my feet during the day.

Chloé Nomade Eau de Parfum, 1.2 ml - Estimated Value $1.90 (Buy a full size 75 ml for $119.00)

As a perfume addict and Chloe enthusiast, I was really excited to see this sample this month. This fragrance is very polished and put together, which is a little remarkable for the wilder woodsy notes in it. It opens with a heavy, heavy citrus vibe that quickly turns into something much more 'forest', with notes of amber, wood, and oakmoss playing around the tart fruit. Before I make this sound like a masculine scent, I have to mention the overwhelming sweet florals (freesia and roses?) that cling to the outer edge of this scent. I noticed the farther I moved my nose away from my skin, the more dominant the florals were. She smells expensive, clean, and utterly in line with the Chloe brand.

Verdict: I really enjoyed this month's Macy’s Beauty Box. Starting off with a brush roll instead of a traditional pouch was a great first impression, and I loved finding Sunday Riley, Lancome, and Chloe items inside. The only item I won't use would be the Ahava lotion,  but that is purely a scent issue, as the formula itself is lovely. The estimated value of this bag is somewhere around $68.83, and I feel like this is a great value this month, especially since the bag came with a $10 off code. This is likely one of my favorite months so far!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I tested out Nomade at a Sephora store the other day, and loved it so much that I got a full size on eBay the next day. I am not even sure why I like it so much, it kinda smells like men’s cologne, but it’s just so sexy, I can’t stop smelling myself!

To me it’s like Tom Ford Oud Wood (which I also think is incredibly sexy) without the masculine base.

Did anyone get the advertised Lancome product – the Aquagel? I was really looking forward to trying it and was bummed when I got the substitution since I already have several samples of the eye cream, but I do like the product and it is a good size for travel.

In my opinion, this box seems to be way better than Birchbox while still being at the same price.
I have that Lancôme eye cream too (full size from some Christmas box they had last year) and I’ve used it nearly everyday since January and there’s still so much product left! It’s a wonderful item to splurge on honestly

Do the 5$ gift cards, and the occasional surprise 10$ gift cards, have an expiration date? I was thinking of buying this box and thought it would be fun to save the gift cards and buy myself a nice beauty treat at the end of the year.

Stephie G

Macy’s told me the $10 card is a “misprint” and that it’s really $5. Just keep that in mind. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

I already used mine on line and it took $10 off

Megan K.

Good until the end of the month usually! I left mine at my desk but I would be happy to confirm tomorrow for you. 🙂
EDITED to add mine has disappeared from my (messy) desk. I will keep hunting!

I’ve presented them an expired card at the beauty counter at Macy’s (I wish they worked on purchases other than beauty) The lady was super nice and said she would try the code.. it did work.. although I’m pretty sure they cannot be combined

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Can’t combine them. The one I got this month expires 8/2/19

Reply ButtonReply

Leslie

The print is too small for me to read, but it looks like they expire, but what is the time period you have to use them by?

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

The coupons are good till the end of the month after the box comes out.

Nor can you combine coupons. As I recall, that didn’t work for me even in store.

FYI Costco has the Elizabeth Arden serum at $54.90 for 90. It’s a great deal.

Reply ButtonReply

Aidan

It’s actually the original one, not the retinol one, but it is still great and a good value 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

atb

LOL, Costco being Costco, I bought the retinol version a couple weeks back, and of course now they have something different. Mine was actually $55 for 60 so not quite as good a deal but still not too shabby. Their prices on luxury skincare are pretty good. La Mer, Sisley, etc.

I didn’t get any of the June products in my ugly orange plastic bag. I am not sure why I am getting these plastic makeup bags. I would have liked to get the roll up makeup bag. I can’t even give the plastic bags away.

Jacki

My allure bag was green this month

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

This is Macy’s. You’re thinking of allure. Allure sent an orange plastic bag. Macy’s doesn’t have variations.

Reply ButtonReply

Dani

I think you’re thinking of allure. They sent their products in a plastic orange bag this month. Macy’s doesn’t have variations.

Luna

I thought this was a great box this month, and I absolutely loved that perfume. It wasn’t quite like any others I have, which I love!

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

I felt the same way! It isn’t my usual far and I don’t know that I would buy it, but I would certainly like more samples… and then I would probably buy it..

Marion

Macy’s has been beating the pants off Sephora Play!

I definitely don’t typically think of the Macy’s brand as “outside the box” or innovative, but the brush roll “bag” for this month & the foot petals are fantastic & creative inclusions. (Actually, this reminds me of the Ricky’s Cult Crushes boxes that included mini flat irons before everyone else, & pasties before Slutbox was a thing)

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

100% agree. The roll-up was a breath of fresh air in a sea of Allure, ipsy, and older Macy’s pouches.

Reply ButtonReply

Twyla

The roll will be perfect for my brushes when i travel, i thought the change from a traditional bag was great! So far i have no complaints at all about my bag ☺ it was another great month, the $10 off is the perfect bonus

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

Didn’t like the bag that came this month. I have so many brushes, this will not even hold half. As for the rest, love it! Haven’t tried everything yet, but looking forward to it. I also got that Ahava sample before. Absolutely love the smell

carla

I fit alot of brishes in the same holders kinda bundled together for a trip next week. Sorry you were disappointed. I love it so ask around and you can gift it to someone who will love it like I do.

Reply ButtonReply

Nat

I threw it away already. Pretty useless. But really, a bag is not the reason I get this box. I travel with a lot more brushes that can fit

JuJu

Well, the brush roll is more for travel, not for storing your entire collection. Same as a makeup bag would have been.

I also was impressed with this months Macys bag. I love the make up brush roll and all the other items too. Fun to open and use. Friends dont forget about Macys Glam Sale going on NOW. I almost missed my most wanted Benefit item at 50% off as its the deal for today. Its fabulous to order an item at 50% OFF and use the code for FREE shipping. I saved $24 just now plus shipping costs. Happy summer

Thank you!😊

Thank you!!!! 🙂

It looks like the Lancome eye cream is 0.20oz, not 0.02oz, which makes it a $26.80 value.

Reply ButtonReply

Megan K.

Thanks for the catch Dia! I changed the values to reflect this. Those tiny 0s and 2s got me! Looks like this bag has a substantially better value now. Thanks again! 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Lexie

I noticed that as well! Definitely makes it an even better value.

Reply ButtonReply

JuJu

I did think $44 sounded low considering what the items are.

Reply ButtonReply

Rachael

The eye cream smells like glue to me.

Reply ButtonReply

Jordan

Wow, good catch! Hopefully they can correct this.

Reply ButtonReply

Jacki

I’m so excited the coupon works on the 10 Days of Glam items!! I always enjoy the bags themselves.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer Arnold

Macy’s did not include my little descriptive card with coupon and I can’t get ahold of anyone who k ows what I’m talking about. I have emailed, live chatted and the 2 phone calls were a waste and aggrivating bc they barely spoke English and had no idea what I was talking about. My first issue ever with Macy’s.. I live by a huge Macy’s in our mall here in Miami and wanted to usey $10 with the sale going on . Otherwise AS USUAL I LOVED THIS MONTH!! My Allure comes today.

Justjamey

Mine came with no card as well, but im just excited to get my box. I have been signed up with this box since it started, and for the past 6 months i have only got 2 boxes. Ive spent countless hours on the phone trying to get it figured out and even speaking to supervisors, and no one acted like they knew what this box was, and some months would ask for a order number (which their was none because they didnt charge me) and then they would tell me my box had arrived (the box 3 MONTHS previous). If you cancel and resub you have to wait a month, and i never know/knew whats going on. My account always said “subscribed”, and the people on the phine have NO CLUE, even managers have no clue as to what it is. Im hoping the last guy manager i spoke with triggered something and now it will start being shipped monthly.

Now this month i didnt get a insert or a 10 dollar off, or the eye cream. But im just happy they sent it again. This used to be one of my favorite subs and i have no clue if they are trying to stop this or whats going on. Im just thrilled with what i did get and hope it keeps showing up.

Tori

Same here. I’ve been waiting for this review to have a nice description of everything. I thought it was a little weird the way it came with no card!

Aidan

That happened to me in February. There is no one who can help. Their CS is absolute garbage. I was in tears I was so frustrated by the end of my second call to them. I almost cancelled because of the problem. It is ridiculous that they can’t have a seperate number for the box or at least train their people about it. They kept offering me a 10% off coupon for anything other than beauty (which is a joke as they always have a coupon out that is worth more). They kept telling me (they being through Facebook Messenger and calling in) that they can’t replace anything in the box and that it was already discounted so I couldn’t get a further discount. I was so confused, hence my frustration and near tears.
