Bulu Burn Blend Box June 2019 Review
There are box variations, and sometimes rather heavy product promotion, so you may not always get the same box as someone else or be able to make the connection to weight loss for each product:
The information cards are now generic rather than describing your items.
There was also some product literature. Sometimes this relates to items in the box and sometimes it does not.
N53 Lean1 Fat Burning Meal Replacement Vanilla (1 serving) – Buy 23 Servings for $48.99 (found here for $41.99)
This is a dairy-based (whey and milk) protein shake with lots of vitamins and minerals, some fat as well as 10 grams of fiber (i.e. it is a decent attempt at a meal replacement). It also has some trendy but unproven weight loss ingredients like green coffee bean extract, but these are unlikely to be harmful. This also contains some digestive enzymes. Last month, we received this in the Weight Loss version of Bulu Box in banana flavor, but I see we are back to vanilla, an old standby. I don’t use meal replacements, but I do like putting protein powders and superfoods (this has some) in my morning smoothies, and this worked very well for that, and the vanilla flavor was nice with my PB2 and cacao that I always add.
Beautyberry Daily Collagen Shot (2.5 fl oz, berry flavor) – Buy 10 for $24.99
Collagen is quite popular these days. This has hydrolyzed collagen, hyaluronic acid, biotin, and folic acid, so it will help improve the elasticity of your skin and condition of any new hair growth (collagen is proven to do those things when taken orally; although biotin is often recommended in such situations as well, the evidence is lacking – but it’s not harmful). It may also help with joint pain due to the hyaluronic acid. This also has antioxidants and so may help slow some signs of aging. This is sweetened with stevia so if you don’t like the taste of stevia in drinks, you may want to mix it with a smoothie where you will get the benefits but the stevia taste will be less noticeable. Anyway, this is not vegetarian due to the presence of collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Wasatch Nectar (1.5 oz) – Buy 12 Packets for $25
Here is a story. Last year I had bronchitis and one of the nurses at the urgent care place (where I went on a Saturday because I could not stop coughing and had been up all night) said that I could eat some honey to help with the cough in between doses of other medications. So, my husband went to Whole Foods and picked up some fancy Manuka honey. And I dutifully ate a spoonful whenever I felt it would help. It did help. But I learned from that experience that I absolutely do not like just eating honey by itself. I don’t think I could stomach eating an entire 1.5-ounce packet of it. But. Honey has some antibacterial properties and I think if you opened this, took a bit, and reclosed it with a binder clip, you could take a little at a time as needed for a cold and it wouldn’t go bad over the course of a few days. This also has electrolytes which I would imagine would be quite nice when you were sick as well. If you like honey and need the energy for endurance sports, go for it. Otherwise, don’t toss this sample – just save it for when you have a cough.

Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream (free sample size) – Buy 2, 1 oz jars for $22.99
This brand pops up in Bulu Box every now and then. This is definitely a product I am interested in, and kind of wish I got more than this foil packet to try because if it works (hard to tell after the one use I got out of this packet), I would totally buy it. My nails are not in great shape (I was really stressed out over Mr. Kitty for a while and not getting enough sleep and just generally run down, and I was having lots of related issues, of which I think nail condition is one) and could use all the help they can get. I may buy some anyway. I figure for around $20 it is worth a try in full size.

N53 Sleep1 (2 capsules) – Buy 60 Capsules for $29.97
Note: if you want to try this and did not receive it in your box if you click the link in the product name you can get a free sample. This has some magnesium in it and some B vitamins and although the packet says vegetable capsules, there are no vegetarian or vegan Sleep1 products on their website (the linked product has gelatin in the capsules). So I’m not sure if this is new to market or just not good labeling (the back of the sample doesn’t have additional information). At any rate, it includes melatonin which I can’t tolerate (gives me vivid and unsettling dreams, which leave me utterly unrested the next day) so I will pass this one along.

Vibrant Health Green Vibrance Plant-Based Superfood (5g) – Buy 15 Servings for $29.95 (found here for $26.11)
This has a lot of vitamins and minerals as well as plant-based micronutrients, probiotics, and digestive enzymes. It is vegetarian and gluten-free if either of those is of concern to you. I don’t normally mix stuff like this up and drink it because I don’t find that to be a pleasant experience, but I do regularly buy products of this nature (usually this Amazing Grass one right now) to put in my smoothies so that is how I used this product. Mixed in with other ingredients, it doesn’t have a strong flavor, which is honestly how I prefer it.
Shapeologist Burn Blend (60 capsules) – Retail Value $32.99
This item covers the full cost of the subscription, so if it is something you would use anyway, the other items in the box are just free extras and this version of the subscription is a pretty good deal. This has a fair amount of caffeine (about equivalent to one cup of coffee) and the reviews on the Bulu Box website do credit the product with giving people energy. As with any weight loss supplement, however, please heed the warnings. This one notes you should not take it without consulting your doctor if you have been diagnosed or are being treated for a medical condition. I would be especially careful if you have high blood pressure (I am on medication for that) due to the caffeine, or if you are sensitive to aspirin or have any bleeding or clotting disorders or are on Coumadin or another blood thinner, because this has some willow bark in it, which is a source of salicylic acid. Also, of course, discontinue use if you have heart palpitations or other concerning symptoms. (This has gelatin in the capsule, for what it’s worth.) This may be better before weight lifting than before cardio.
Note: this bottle had an expiration date of July 2019.
Verdict: There were 6 samples this month outside of the Burn Blend product, but because the Burn Blend Box retails for $32.99 a month, the samples are basically free. Things like protein powder, green superfood powder, nail strengthener cream, and potentially the honey are always useful to me, but I’m not actively looking to lose weight so I’m not sure I, personally, would go for the Burn Blend supplement.
I’d strongly recommend using our MYSUB799 coupon code when you subscribe and choosing either the regular, the weight loss box, or the Burn Blend Box, but not both since there is a lot of product repetition between the three.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No, July would be your first shipment. Also, keep in mind that there are variations in the boxes, so your box might not be exactly like mine in any given month.
Value Breakdown: The June box has 6 samples in addition to the Burn Blend, but Burn Blend is $32.99, so the samples are free.
