FYI – Loot Crate has shipping issues. We only recommend subscribing to any of their boxes if you are OK with boxes showing up late. (Possibly months late.)
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Wizarding World Crate March 2019 Review – The Beast Within
I see quite a few beasts within this box..
Each month arrives with an information card that details the items in your box and its theme.
French Ministry Tin Sign
This 6.25×8 inch sign is supposed to “bring the magic of the City of Lights” to your home, but it really isn’t my aesthetic. Each of the four corners has a hole to hang it, and this is the only item that is off-theme this month.
Maledictus T-Shirt, Size Small
The design on this shirt is really cool! A maledictus is a woman who is blood cursed to eventually transform into a beast permanently, like Nagini featured in Crimes of Grindelwald. I love when sub boxes send out different colored shirts instead of the typical black tee. I can also appreciate that only fans of the series will pick up on this subtle, interesting design.
Kelpie Tempered Glass Mug
The theme of this box is just my speed; the animals are always my favorite part of this series! Kelpies are shapeshifters, and Newt’s just so happens to take the form of a horse.
Although he is a biter, I really enjoy the Kelpie on this 12oz mug and the warranted warning on the bottom of the glass to watch my fingers!
Baby Niffler Squish Stress Toy Set
These little cuties are oh so lovable! And squeezable! I always felt a kinship with nifflers, due to our shared obsession with all things shiny, so this is a great find for me. I can fit all four in my hand, see the picture above to check out their squishability.
Matagot Pin
Matagots aren’t your average house cats. These creepy kitties are introduced in Crimes of Grindelwald. They have bright blue eyes, a sleek black coat, and big ol’ claws. They are docile until provoked, and then watch out! This pin has black enamel with shiny gold metallic accents and two pinbacks.
Verdict: This month’s J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World Crate catered to the Fantastic Beasts fandom this month. I would have liked some Harry Potter gear, but I enjoyed the beasts theme, nonetheless. I really liked the featured creatures and the array of items sent out this month. This month I received 5 items which I think is fair for licensed and exclusive memorabilia.
To Wrap Up:
Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. This was an older theme – the current theme can be found on the landing page!
COUPON: Use code ADDICTION or SAVE3 to save 10% off any length subscription, or $3 off month-to-month.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $39.99 + $5 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $9.

I meant that I couldn’t agree more with Katie’s statement of this being sooo bad. It’s a dismal box really. I don’t agree with Pamela’s assessment although I’m glad she likes it.
I wanted to clarify my earlier remark because the thread shows that I agreed with Pamela and not Katie, which isn’t true, and I depend on feedback when I subscribe to boxes.
This box was a total bummer for me. The last two boxes have been highly disappointing, and I opted not to renew my yearly subscription. I am a Harry Potter fan, and the box was branded as offering cool HP merchandise, which it did for awhile. I am not a Fantastic Beasts superfan, but I am a Potterhead.
I would have really liked this box. The baby nifflers are adorable!
I really liked this box and appreciate that they dove into the other aspect of the Wizarding world for it. I love the new movies and enjoyed every item I got. Did anyone else notice the nifflers smell like strawberries?!
Yes, i did – they smell like strawberry and maybe a hint of vanilla. Very cute item.
I personally thought this box was better than the last box. I loved the tin sign (it is definitely my aesthetic) and the squishies. The T-shirt is a nice design though it is less soft than the last one I got. Still cool though. The mug is a bit meh for me but at least it is functional (though the message on the base was already partially worn away). I like the idea of the pin but mine had some enamel “spillover” and i think the chunky gold outline doesn’t work so well for this design, whereas I loved it on the Thestral. Overall I was happy enough – not over the moon but not let down.
This is my 1st box of a three month subscription. As long as I waited (2 long months since I placed my order) I felt let down. I enjoy FB series I just felt like it was lacking. I loved the nifflers squeeze toys but everything else I would never use. I didn’t feel like it was worth $45 dollars. Not sure if I will renew my subscription. Waiting to see what the next vox brings.
I felt like this months box left a lot to be desired.. Especially with the time we waited for it to be delivered. I bought a year plan but not sure if I’ll be renewing again!
This box is sooo bad I cant believe that is all they sent for $45. Also dont they know that no one likes the new movies?! Like the movies were only so-so, I dont need merch from them. This is a Harry Potter box and they should stick to that and not the new movies!! There are 7 books it isnt like there is nothing left for them to make.
This is a Wizarding World box. That includes the Fantastic Beasts series since the characters eventually relate.
BTW, I happen to enjoy the FB movies, and I’m sure lots of others do as well.
I love the Fantastic Beast movies, especially the last one. Nagini is such a tragic figure since we know what is in her future. There was so much in the last movie, that I still catch something new almost every time I watch it. I enjoyed this box very much.
I couldn’t agree more!
