Motherhood Survival Box is a quarterly subscription box for mothers that sends handpicked items specially designed to support them and give them a much-needed break. They offer two subscriptions, the "original" box which comes with 4-6 handpicked items and a surprise gift for $49.95 + free shipping or the "mini" box which contains 2-3 items taken from the "original" box for $24.95 + free shipping.

Please note: The "mini" box is no longer an option for new subscribers, but it looks like current mini box subscribers will continue their subscription through 2019. More on that below!

This review is for the $24.95 Mini Motherhood Survival Box.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Motherhood Survival Mini Box "Refresh & Renew" Review April 2019

In our box, we received this note about how they will be discontinuing the Mini box come 2020 so that they can continue to give customers better value in their boxes. I think it was incredibly thoughtful to give customers a heads up this early and also to offer current subscribers a 15% discount if they choose to upgrade to the Original box. They also listed the items you would have received if you had subscribed to the Original box...just a little something to entice you and your sense of FOMO!

We received this card that highlights our theme of Refresh & Renew and also lists the items along with a brief description and their value.

They also included a nice list of self-care ideas and a reminder that it's okay to take care of yourself! Easier said than done when you're a mama!

Roses N Rose Rosewater Travel Size Face Mist (2 oz) - Retail Value $8.00

This face mist smells great and feels very hydrating on my skin thanks to the coconut water, rosewater, and vitamin E. It also contains geranium to help calm and soothe your skin. The scent is mostly geranium with a bit of rose and I didn't find it to be overpowering but rather fresh and floral. It can be used as a makeup setting spray or just as a refresher, which is how I prefer to use it. It's great after a workout!

Little A Creative Makeup Pouch - Retail Value $15

This handmade pouch is made by Little A Creative which is a small handmade shop in Oregon. If you follow Motherhood Survival Box on social media you can meet some of the awesome women behind the items in the box! I love the yellow floral pattern on this pouch and while it is meant to be a makeup pouch, I think I'll be using it to organize my purse! I love that it is handmade and seems to be crafted well. There are no inner pockets or anything, but it is a nice size to fit the basics!

Three Sisters Bracelets Lava Bead Bracelet - Retail Value $12

At first, I just thought this was a cute bracelet with some great spring/summer colors, but the more I wear it, the more I love it! It's a really simple design, but that little gold strand catches my eye and looks so nice against the other colors. It's dainty and perfect for everyday wear since it is adjustable and waterproof, but even better, you can add essential oils to the lava bead in the center to help boost your mood or just for a nice smell! This bracelet comes from a self-taught mama who has three daughters that often help her pick out colors and such. How cute is that?

Next Dimension Bakery Shortbread Cookie - Listed Value $3

The last item in our box was this adorable sweet treat. This shortbread cookie comes from Next Dimension Bakery which is owned by a husband and wife team, both of whom are military veterans and parents to two teenagers. This cookie was as delicious as it was cute!

Verdict: This Spring Motherhood Survival Mini Box was a great one! I especially loved their focus on including small, local, and women-owned businesses. The items all felt unique and handmade and it was a good mix of items as well. I love both the pouch and the bracelet equally, but what I love even more is their transparency with their customers and how they are giving almost a year's notice about the change coming. This shows that they value their subscribers and want to continue to give them the value they deserve, which is admirable! As for the value we received this month, the total came to $38 and we paid $24.95 + free shipping, and I think that's great for a special curation with a focus on handmade items and small businesses!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

I subscribed for a brief time. I was not at all impressed. The items above are basically stuff that you can find for 1/2 that at TJ Maxx. Plus, do we really need more bags and generic looking jewelry? Keep the money that you spend on this junk four times a year and go have a massage. Or put that in your kids’ college fund.

By the way, the upgrade note needed a better proofread.
