The theme this month is "Enchanted Dreams" and I received four brushes from the Elite Series

For someone like myself, who really doesn't own many makeup brushes or use a wide range of types, the info card is very helpful because it describes how you can use each brush and what types of makeup they work best for applying. When I say I don't own or use many brushes I literally mean I use two brushes: a dense powder brush and a lighter fluffier blush/highlighter brush I received in the last BoxyLuxe. That is it every day! I fully expect to be out of my depth here, so let's read on!

E12 Pointed Foundation/Buffer Brush

First, can we please discuss the mascara that is all over my eyelid. How can I be 32 and still have this issue daily? Ugh.

So this was the only brush I couldn't locate on their website. I am not sure if it is fully synthetic or a blend, but I can say that these bristles are DENSE. The tapered tip really lets you apply your foundation with a ton of accuracy, and that tip gets into that hard to blend spot where my nose meets the corner of my eyes perfectly. I didn't expect to love this brush as much as I actually did because I generally apply my foundation with a sponge. This brush absolutely gave me a more smooth and natural finish than the sponge ever has so maybe I am a convert? Our card also suggested this brush can be used for powder but I personally like my powder brushes more fluffy.

E45 Mini Detail Contour (Synthetic) - Retail Value $6.00

I am obsessed with this brush. OBSESSED. I never knew I was missing a concealer brush until this arrived in the mail like a little angel brush sent from up above. I normally pat in my fave concealer by hand, which is less smooth and also messy. This brush was a gamechanger because it buffs it into place so seamlessly. I know that a ton of you likely already use more than a powder brush daily, and this isn't so earth-shattering, but a $6.00 brush has immediately changed my undereye game! It also does a great job of smoothing product I use around my nostrils and inner eye.

E55 Pro Flat Contour (Synthetic) - Retail Value $7.00

This brush is way out of my depth. I never contour and I don't know how. My face is round and full like a melon or a big smiling sunshine and no amount of contouring will ever give me drastic angles or notable cheekbones. I didn't actually take a photo using this brush, because it was embarrassing and I looked ridiculous trying to figure out how to use it to contour. Though this brush is not for me or my routine, the quality is great! If you are looking for a fantastically affordable brush I would highly recommend it.

E40 Eyelash Fan (Synthetic) - Retail Value $5.00

At first glance, I thought this brush was just silly. This is like what Bob Ross used to paint trees and it is not for my face. WRONG AGAIN KIDS. Though the card says you can use it to separate your eyelashes (why?) it also mentions it is great for precision highlighting. Bingo! I used this brush with the highlighters in my fave CoverFX Palette (also a BoxyLuxe win. That was a good box for me.) and fanned the powders down my cheeks from the bottom of my eye for a very natural glow. I loved the effect.

Verdict: MorpheMe Monthly Brush Club sent four high-quality brushes this month. I sadly don't have an overall value since one of the bigger ones was nowhere to be found on their site. I have to give credit where credit is due here: one month of this sub effectively doubled my everyday use brush collection. Admittedly, it took it from 2 to 4, but that is impressive for someone like me who is pretty much a brush minimalist. If you are a brush addict or simply just someone who maybe wants to experiment, this is a solid and relatively inexpensive subscription to try and an excellent way to add high-quality brushes to your kit.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I have over 100 brushes in my collection and I still want this sub. The brushes are surprisingly good quality given the affordable prices. Morphe has shown me that a high proceed brush does not necessarily mean a superior performance.

They did seem ridiculously high quality, especially for the price! I look forward to growing my collection.
