Frank And Oak Style Plan Women's Tops & Pants Review
When you first sign up for this subscription, you fill out a quick style profile that captures your sizing preferences and your sense of style. (Choose from Casual, Classic, and Creative). Then, you can pick whether you'd like a monthly or a bi-monthly plan and set your budget for each box (under $150 or $150+).
Before your box ships, you get an email inviting you to hop in and preview your order. The page that opens up has about 12 products total on the page. Frank and Oak picks three of those items for you, but you can always make changes to items or sizes as you'd like.
I've had my profile set to "Casual" since I can remember, so I decided to see what'd happen if I picked "Creative". Judging by the items I got to pick from this month during my order preview, the change really did make a difference! I felt like there was a wider, brighter array of colors and even some patterned pieces to choose from—of course, that could be a result of the new season, too. (Spring color palettes do tend to be some of my faves!)
Okay, let's check out what I got!
Ribbed Tank Top in Flaxen Yellow, Size Medium - Retail Value $34.50, Member Price $29.50
I LOVE this top. The 56% cotton, 39% poly, 5% spandex fabric has some oomph to it, so it fits almost like a yoga top might—it's close-fitting and hugs my body in a flattering, comfortable way. The color is really cool, too. It's sort of a dull, greenish yellow, almost like the color of a pot of green tea. The hem falls right at my hips, and with its close fit, this top is great for tucking into high-waisted styles.
The Josephine Good Cotton Wide-Leg Pants in Washed Blue, Size 10 - Retail Value $79.50, Member Price $69.50
These pants are perfect for spring. They're 97% organic cotton, 3% spandex, meaning they're breezy to wear and have just enough stretch to accommodate my curves. The color is surprisingly neutral—the pants are sky blue, but they're almost as versatile as a pair of bright light-wash jeans. I love where they sit on my waist, and that they end right at my ankles. (I'm 5'3", so it's possible they'll wear slightly more like a cropped style on someone taller.)
Organic Recycled Cotton Blend Crewneck Sweater in Cender, Size Medium - Retail Value $89.50, Member Price $79.50
This sweater is the kind of high-quality, essential piece that I come to Frank and Oak for specifically. Made from eco-conscious material (50% organic cotton, 30% cotton, 20% recycled cotton), this thin, breathable sweater is just the thing for brisk spring mornings and chilly days in the office. It's comfy, but not cozy/stuffy, and it's so simple that it should go with all kinds of outfits. I find crewnecks to be really flattering on me, so I'm into this understated look. Plus, how cute would it be with a few enamel pins or brooches?
Verdict: As usual, I'm really loving Frank and Oak. Those pants are my new favorite item in my closet, and the lemongrass top has proven really versatile—I've worn it with jeans AND dressed it up with trousers and heels for a fancy dinner. Granted, even with the Style Plan discount, some of these pieces are priced slightly higher than what you might find at the mall. But the quality I've experienced from Frank and Oak is top notch for the money. I'm not the most careful laundry-doer in the world, and even so, my Frank and Oak tees, pants, jeans, and tops come out looking stellar time after time. They're comfy to wear and most importantly, super versatile, meaning they'll prove more useful to me in the long run than a trendier style I pick up on a shopping spree.
To Wrap Up:
Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Each box is customized based on your style plan. Under the new $25 styling fee plan, you can log in 2 days before your box ships (you'll get an email alerting you of when it's ready to be previewed) to add or remove items or skip the month altogether. That said, you can still follow the product links above to shop these items for yourself from their site catalog!
ACTIVE DEAL: Get $35 off your first month of Style Plan!
Value Breakdown: The retail price for the three items I received this month is $203.50. But the member price drops that cost down to $178.50. If I decide to return all the items, I will pay the $25 styling fee and will be refunded the remaining amount, but I can keep any one item at the discounted price and no styling fee will be charged.
