Ahhh Sugar Sugar “Farmhouse Fresh” April 2019 Review
This box comes with company information listed on the box (and I am always happy to see that unicorn).
It also comes with an info sheet for the included products. The info sheet got a small makeover, and my eyes appreciate the bigger font! Also, how cute is the original artwork featured in the info sheet and throughout the box?
The Barn at Post Oak + Ahhh Sugar Sugar Candle – Listed Value $12
This candle has scent notes of lemon verbena, cedar, peppermint, vanilla sugar, and eucalyptus. It feels like this was made specifically for me because it has some of my all-time favorite scents in one candle. This candle isn’t big enough to fill a room, but I like burning it at my desk while I work on my computer.
Matches – Listed Value $3.75
The price may seem a bit high for the matches, but unlike regular matches you buy at the store, these are made with responsibly sourced wood, including recycled scrap. They are extra thick and burn longer than the other matches I have in my apartment. I also love the cute glass jar they come in that has a striker on the side to light the matches.
Sea Salt Vanilla Bean Bath Oil – Listed Value $15.50
I love any and all bath products, and this bath oil may be one of my all-time favorites. Along with smelling amazing thanks to the sea salt and vanilla bean, it is nourishing to my skin thanks to the oils and vitamin E. This bath oil is also free of preservatives and phthalates!
Apricot + Bergamot + Mint Body Soap – Listed Value $9
Normally this box comes with a bath frosting, which is a whipped soap infused with exfoliating granules of sugar. This month, they separated it out which is perfect if you have sensitive skin or just want a gentle cleanse! This soap is thick and a bit firm in the jar, but once I scoop a small amount out and rub it between my warm hands, it glides over the skin with ease.
Rosemary + Blood Orange + Basil + Thyme Body Scrub – Listed Value $7.50
I love the herbaceous scent of this body scrub, and the exfoliation comes from premium pure cane sugar. I appreciate that I can customize the exfoliation I want by using it alone or mixing it with the soap, and even on its own it’s not too abrasive while still being effective.
Lemon + Mint + Grass Hand Soap – Listed Value $6.75
This hand soap has the perfect hand soap smell, in my humble opinion, and it has become my soap of choice by my kitchen sink (even though I had other, open bottles of hand soap already there. Oops). This didn’t dry out my hands, and it is free of parabens and phthalates.
The Verdict: I always look forward to this box because of the creativity and originality, and this month definitely did not disappoint. I loved the farmhouse fresh theme this month, and I really feel like the original custom artwork elevates the entire box experience. My favorite products this month are the hand soap and body oil, but honestly, all of them are winners.
According to the listed values, this box had a total value of $54.50, which is a bit more than the cost of the box plus shipping. One of the non-monetary values of this subscription is getting brand new scents and exclusive products, so if you don’t find value in that this may not be the subscription for you. I absolutely love the attention to detail and handcrafted nature of the products included every month, so I definitely think the value is there.
